BUDGET | PLAYERS | MONEY REMAINING |

Best Differential FPL Team for the 2022-2023 Season
Differential Goalkeeper
GK: Β Aaron Ramsdale ARS Β£5.0 (TSB 9.3%)
One of the bargains of the 2021-22 season, Ramsdale is just 9% owned despite having the 4th highest points per game amongst starting GKs last season. Ramsdale is a great option to start the season, given that Arsenal has the 5th easiest defensive schedule in the first eight GWs. Good for saves and bonus points; Ramsdale is a nice way of getting into the Arsenal defense without sacrificing a defender spot.
Differential Defenders
DEF: Andrew Robertson LIV Β£7.0 (TSB 9.9%)
The MVP for most managers in the second half of last season, Robertson is being seriously overlooked this season. Last season, Robertson went on an absolute tear racking up 3 goals, 11 assists, and 17 clean sheets. Whatβs more impressive is that he has a return in 18 of his last 21 starts. At just Β£7.0 for a 200-point player, Robertson will greatly reward the managers who select him this season.
DEF: Kyle Walker MCI Β£5.0 (TSB 5.4%)
At the time of writing, Manchester City has not signed Cucurella nor another LB/RB. Given the lack of depth at the position, Walker seems increasingly likely to get tons of minutes at the start of the season. Manchester City has the easiest defensive schedule for the first eight GWs, making Walker a great differential pick for those doubling up on the MCI defense.
DEF: Gabriel ARS Β£5.0 (TSB 8.2%)
Despite finishing as the 9th highest scorer defender last season, Gabriel is being overlooked this season. Last season, Gabriel scored the most goals amongst defenders to go along with his 13 clean sheets. Gabriel gives you a consistent option inside the Arsenal defense with the 5th easiest defensive schedule in the first eight GWs and a good attacking threat.

Differential Midfielders
MID: Mason Mount CHE Β£8.0 (TSB 9.8%)
Last season, Mount averaged 6.4 points per game (7th amongst mids) with 11 goals and 11 assists. His xGI per 90 of 0.59 ranked 3rd within the Β£8.0 mid options. Mountβs advantage over the Β£8.0 options is his xMins for one of the best sides in the premier league. If Mount can maintain his underlying numbers and avoid injuries, he will be one of the best differentials to start the season.
MID: Raheem Sterling CHE Β£10.0 (TSB 7.8%)
Sterlingβs move to Chelsea makes him an intriguing FPL option, given his minutes are likely to go up. Sterling has shown what he can do if given minutes as he posted an impressive 6.4 points per start last season and has three 200-point seasons to his name. With the 6th easiest attacking schedule in the first 8 GWs, Sterling is a great pick for those looking at a differential premium option.

MID: Phil Foden MCI Β£8.0 (TSB 7.1%)
Foden had a disappointing season in 2021-22, given his 24 starts (he would have had more barring injury). Pep still seems to trust Foden the most out of the likes of Grealish and Mahrez, making him more likely to get minutes. The arrival of Haaland does mean that he will get fewer minutes at the false 9 position, but given his versatility, Foden should still start a lot of games for City. With the 2nd easiest schedule in the first 8 GWs, Foden is a great cheaper alternative to that Manchester City attack.
MID: Jarrod Bowen Β£8.5 (TSB 9.0%)
One of the best-hidden gems of last season, Bowen is being massively overlooked to start the season due to the Man City GW1 fixture. However, if managers can look past that fixture, Bowen has the 5th easiest schedule for attackers from GW2-8. With a good xGI per 90 of 0.53 and explosiveness of 12 goals and 17 assists last season, a differential Bowen could massively pay dividends to start the season.
MID: Riyad Mahrez MCI Β£8.0 (TSB 5.9%)
Β The issue with Mahrez has also been about his lack of xMins. With the departure of Jesus and Sterling, the opportunity is there for Mahrez to absolutely kill it this season. Mahrezβs 0.87 xGI per 90 is ridiculous and ranks 2nd only to Salah amongst Midfielders. With the 2nd easiest schedule for attackers, an expected increase in minutes, and amazing underlying stats, Mahrez could be one of the best differentials this season.

Differential Forwards
FWD: Jamie Vardy LEI Β£9.5 (TSB 4.8%)
Last season, the Vardy Party showed what he could do with 15 goals and 3 assists despite suffering from injuries and load management. Leicester no longer has European obligations this season, so Vardy should see increased minutes in the Premier League. In the first eight GWs, Vardy does face difficult opponents (4 top six sides), but those are the type of opponents that Vardy loves to score against. With an xG per 90 of 0.51, the explosive Vardy can kick off the season as one of the most under-the-radar FPL picks.
FWD: Callum Wilson NEW Β£7.5 (TSB 3.3%)
Wilson is one of those players who can be a massive bargain if he stays healthy. Last season he scored 8 goals despite missing most of the season due to injury. This season, Wilson will lead the line for an improving Newcastle attack that desperately missed him last season. The fixtures against MCI and LIV in the opening eight GWs are tricky, but besides those two fixtures, Wilson has the 3rd easiest schedule for attackers. As long as you can rotate him in GWs 3 and 5, Wilson can be that cheaper, differential, FWD option to start the season.
Wilson usually starts his season on a bright note.
Bench Selections
- Bench GK: Jason Steele BHA Β£4.0 (TSB 2.1%) β We do not have the luxury of Foster like last season, so any Β£4.0 GK should be fine.
- Bench FWD: Cameron Archer AVL Β£4.5 (TSB 3.3 %) β 2 goals in 90 minutes of pre-season. This spot must go to the Β£4.5 FWD likely to get some minutes, and Archer appears that he could.
- Bench DEF: Diogo Dalot MUN Β£4.5 (TSB 3.3%) β 155 minutes in pre-season, 1 assist, and good fixtures against BHA, BRE, SOU, CRY, and LEE in the first 8 GWs.
- Bench DEF: Oleksandr Zinchenko ARS Β£5.0 (TSB 3.8%) β Zinchenko could see starts in the midfield for Arsenal, making his ceiling extremely high at just Β£5.0. Arsenal has the 5th easiest defensive schedule and 7th easiest attacking schedule in the first 8 GWs.
