2022/23 Premier League Transfer Updates

Arsenal

Gabriel Jesus

22/23 Premier League new signing for Arsenal ~ Jesus from Man City

Previous Club: Man City Age: 24 Position: Striker | FPL position: Forward | FPL Price: 8 Million

Arsenal have landed Man City striker, Gabriel Jesus on a 45 Mil deal. Jesus is a four-time PL winner and comes with a wealth of Premier League experience having played in 159 PL games. His PL record is pretty impressive having scored 59 goals and 32 assists with at least 10 goal involvements in all seasons.

He had a great run of form towards the closing stages of the 2021/22 season including scoring 4 goals and getting an assist in a 5-1 win over Watford. Although he never got a consistent run of starts or was the first choice option, Jesus showed his worth every time he got a chance including some splendid performances in key UCL games.

Arsenal had lost both Aubameyang and Lacazette and were looking for a solid PL proven striker who could lead the attack and in Jesus, they have found a perfect candidate to lead the attack. Jesus has previously worked with Arteta and the duo have a good understanding which further increases the expectations on Jesus.

Jesus is priced at 8 Million in fpl for the 2022/23 season

From an FPL point of view, Jesus is priced only at 8 Million and could be a bargain for us FPL managers. Arsenal’s attack is ever improving with the likes of Saka, Martinelli, Odegaard, and Vieira, this would mean Jesus will get ample chances to score a lot of goals.

FPL Importance: High, could be a very useful and important striker, especially with Arsenal’s good run of fixtures to start the season.

Oleksandr Zinchenko

22/23 Premier League new signing for Arsenal ~ Oleksandr Zinchenko

Previous Club: Man City | Age: 25 | Position: LB/CM | FPL position: Defender | FPL Price: 5.0 Million

Oleksandr Zinchenko became the second player to move from Man City to Arsenal. The highly versatile player is a welcome addition to the Arsenal side as they needed reinforcements in both midfield and LB positions. Although Zinchenko played mostly as LB for Man City, he’s played in midfield for Ukraine and it wouldn’t be a surprise if he plays OOP in midfield at some point this season. But do keep in mind he made his Arsenal debut as an LB against Chelsea and he’s expected to continue in the same position at the beginning of the season with Tierney not being fully fit.

FPL Importance: High

Fabio Vieira

22/23 Premier League new signing for Arsenal ~ Fabio Vieira from Porto

Previous Club: Porto | Age: 22 | Position: Attacking Midfielder| FPL position: Midfielder | FPL Price: 6.0 Million

Arsenal have completed the signing of highly-rated Portuguese midfielder Vieira from Porto. A player who is technically gifted to play in various positions across the midfield. During the breakthrough 21/22 season, he scored 6 goals and registered 14 assists in 27 games.

His positions during the season ~ 11 games as a second striker(4 goals, 9 assists), 9 games as an attacking midfielder(1 goal, 3 assists), 4 games as left mid(1 goal and 1 assist), and one game as a central midfielder with an assist. His versatility would be really useful for Arsenal and he could be a good FPL budget mid-option during the season.

FPL Importance: High, could be a very useful budget midfielder, especially with Arsenal’s good run of fixtures at the beginning of the season.

Marquinhos

22/23 Premier League new signing for Arsenal ~ Marquinhos from Sao Paulo

Previous Club: Sao Paulo | Age: 19 | Position: Winger(Left/Right) | FPL position: Midfielder | FPL Price: 5.0 Million

Arsenal have announced the signing of young Brazilian attacker Marquinhos from Sao Paulo. Only 19 years of age he’s seen as the one for the future and Arsenal continues to buy players early from Brazil following the success of Gabriel Martinelli who played a key role for Arsenal last season.

FPL Importance: Nil, will be one for the future and would take time to adapt to the premier league.

Matt Turner

22/23 Premier League new signing for Arsenal ~ Matt Turner from New England Revolution

Previous Club: New England Revolution | Age: 28 | Position: Goalkeeper | FPL position: GK | FPL Price: 4.0 Million

New England Revolution goalkeeper, Matt Turner joins Arsenal and is most likely will be our second choice GK after Ramsdale with Leno expected to leave the club. He’s also capped 18 times for the USA and will be headed to the World cup. But from an FPL point of view, he’ll not be replacing Ramsdale so he’s not a starting goalkeeper option but could be your 4.0 Million GK to have him on the bench.

FPL importance: Nil.

Manchester United

Tyrell Malacia

22/23 Premier League new signing for Man United ~ Tyrell Malacia from Feyenoord

Previous Club: Feyenoord | Age: 22 | Position: LB | FPL position: Defender | FPL price: 4.5 Million

Man United have made Dutch full-back Malacia as their first signing of the 2022/23 FPL season. The young attacking full-back Malacia joins from Feyenoord having been very impressive in the Dutch league for a while. Malacia played an impressive 50 games for Feyenoord last year scoring a goal and registering five assists. A product of the Feyenoord academy Malacia is a modern full-back known to very attacking having caught the eye of Ten Hag when he was managing Ajax. At Man United, he’s expected to be the second-choice LB at least at the beginning of the season.

His uncertainty of being a starter means he’s not a good option in FPL initially, but if he nails the LB spot then we could have a 4.5 attacking fullback from a top-six team!

FPL Importance: Low, could be a useful asset later in the season.

Cristian Eriksen

Previous Club: Brentford | Age: 30 | Position: CM/CAM | FPL position: Midfielder | FPL price: £6.5

Christian Eriksen has joined Man United following the expiry of his short-term contract at Brentford. Eriksen made his name in the PL playing an integral part of the Spurs midfield for many years before he moved to Inter a few years back. Eriksen suffered a life-threatening cardiac arrest playing for Denmark in the Euros. As a fighter, Eriksen recovered well and came back to competitive football to play for Brentford. He proved very instrumental in Brentford staying up in the PL last season, playing 11 games for the Bees in the second half of the season and registered 1 goal and 4 assists, most importantly looked to be back to his best.

Eriksen's FPL and PL record
Eriksen’s FPL and PL record

Eriksen was training with Ten Hag’s Ajax when he was without a club and the duo of ETH and Eriksen are pretty close which played a crucial role in the deal happening. From an FPL perspective, Eriksen at £6.5 million could be a great option for the season considering most of the FPL midfielders from United are underpriced this time.

FPL importance: High

Lisandro Martínez

Lisandro Martínez to Man United ~ 2022/23 new signing for Man United from Ajax

Previous Club: Ajax | Age: 24 | Position: CDM/CB | FPL position: Defender | FPL price: TBC

It took a while but Man United have signed Lisandro Martínez from Ten Hag’s former club Ajax. Lisandro Martínez is known for his versatility with the ability to play as a CB/CDM. Here’s a look at his positions played from Transfermarkt.

Lisandro Martínez postions played all seasons

His passing skills are elite and a perfect fit for Ten Hag’s style of football. Last year he played all games as a CB but he might be played as a CDM at United a position where United is under-resourced. From an FPL perspective, he’ll not be a direct impact but he definitely strengthens the Man United defence.

FPL Importance: Low

Spurs

Richarlison

22/23 Premier League new signing for Spurs ~ Richarlison from Everton

Previous Club: Everton Age: 25 Position: Striker/LW/RW | FPL Position: Forward | FPL Price: 8.5 Million

Richarlison is only 25 years old but is already a household name in the premier league having played 173 times already in the PL. He has a healthy attacking output of 48 goals and 18 assists, what is even more interesting is that he has played at least 30 games in every season he has been in the Premier League which shows his fitness standards.

Richarlison postions played in the premier league alone
via transfermarkt (PL games Alone)

Richarlison is also very versatile and could play anywhere in the forward line having been used at LW, RW, and CF. Spurs already have Son, Kane, and Kulusevski with Richarlison also signing it would be interesting to see the position Conte plays him. Early signs are that he’ll be rotated with Kulusevski in the RW. He’s also a key figure for Brazil and with the World cup approaching Richarlison would want to play regularly to be a starter for Brazil at the World Cup.

FPL wise he comes in as a Forward and could be an interesting choice as we would have two premiums(Son and Kane) and two mid-priced assets(Richarlison & Kulusevski) from Spurs.

Note: Richarlison is suspended for the first game for holding a flare towards the end of last season.

FPL Importance: High, could be a very useful mid-priced striker. However, there will be rotation amongst the Spurs attack inevitably.

Ivan Perisic

22/23 Premier League new signing for Spurs ~ Perisic from inter milan

Previous Club: Inter Millan | Age: 33 Position: LWB/LM | FPL position: Defender | FPL Price: 5.5 Million

Spurs didn’t take long to make their first transfer with Ivan Perisic joining the North London team. Perisic is a Conte signing and the duo are reunited after their time together at Inter. He’s been a winger for the majority of his career but was converted into LWB by Conte two seasons back and has since played as an LWB for Inter. He has 8 goals, 7 assists in the last Serie A season, and 4 goals, 5 assists in the 2020/21 season, the two full seasons he has played as an LWB. He is set to continue in that role under Conte at Spurs and will be a huge FPL asset as he’s a defender in FPL.

FPL Importance: Very high, could go on to become one of the essential defenders next season.

Yves Bissouma

Bissouma new signing 2022/23 PL Season to Spurs

Previous Club: Brighton | Age: 25 | Position: CDM | FPL position: Midfielder | FPL Price: £5.0

Bissouma is one of the best defensive midfielders in the premier league and his move to Spurs further strengthens the Spurs midfield. Bissouma is known to be an excellent ball-winner and is super with tackles as well, overall he has high energy and is a midfield engine, a few of the very important qualities Conte expects from his midfielders. Although he’ll not have a direct impact on FPL, his addition will surely improve the defensive performances of Spurs.

He’ll also be surely not going to the world cup and would instead enjoy a good mid-season break from football.

FPL Importance: Nil, he’s no longer a 4.5 mid so there’s no direct FPL value associated with Bissouma.

Fraser Forster

22/23 Premier League new signing for Spurs ~ Fraser Foster

Previous Club: Southampton | Age: 34 | FPL position: GK | Position: GK | FPL Price: 4.0 Million

A free transfer from Southampton, Foster will join Spurs to be their backup goalkeeper for the next two seasons. From an FPL perspective, this move is of little importance as he’ll be the second choice but he could be your 4.0 Million bench goalkeeper having been priced at 4.0 Million. Although it’s better to have a playing and a nonplaying goalkeeper (4.0 Million) from the same team so that if the first choice is injured or suspended the second one plays.

FPL importance: Nil.

Clément Lenglet

Lenglet new signing 2022/23 PL Season to Spurs from Barcelona on loan

Previous Club: Barcelona | Age: 27 | Position: CB | FPL position: Defender | FPL Price: 5.0 Million

Spurs have completed the signing of Clement Lenglet from Barcelona on a season-long loan deal ahead of the 2022/23 PL Season. A quality CB, Lenglet is a proper addition to Spurs who’ll complement the style of Conte in a three-man defence. From an FPL perspective, he’s not a direct option with a focus on Perisic and Doherty.

His arrival means 4.0 Million FPL defender Rodon will surely be on the move now.

Djed Spence

Previous Club: Middlesbrough(Spent last season on loan at Nottingham Forest | Age: 21 | Position: RWB | FPL position: Defender | FPL Price: 4.5 Million

Spurs have finally got their main RB target for the season, Djed Spence from Middlesbrough. Spence spent last season on loan at Nottingham forest playing a crucial role in their promotion to the Premier League. Forest couldn’t sign him permanently and instead got 4.0 Million FPL defender Neco Williams. Spence registered 2 goals and 9 assists in 39 championship games last season and has surely impressed Conte as Wingbacks play a crucial role in Conte’s system. Spence is expected to challenge Doherty for a playing spot in the main 11 and it remains to be seen if Conte will put the youngster directly into the playing 11.

FPL importance: Medium, until he nails his spot.

Spurs academy/Youth signings:

Ashcroft and Keeley join Academy from Reading and St Patrick’s Athletics respectively.

Aston Villa

Diego Carlos

2022/23 premier league transfer updates ~ Diego Carlos

Previous Club: Sevilla | Age: 29 | Position: CB | FPL position: Defender | FPL Price: 5.0 Million

Carlos has been an ever-present figure in the Sevilla back line over the last few seasons forming a formidable partnership with Kounde who has been linked with a move to Chelsea. He will be a good addition to the Villa backline, attacking returns will be hard to come as he’s a CB and there are better defenders from Villa including Cash and Digne who are also priced at the same price as Carlos. But he has scored three goals in the La Liga last season which isn’t too bad.

FPL importance: Low

Boubacar Kamara

2022/23 premier league transfer updates ~ Boubacar Kamara

Previous Club: Marseille| Age: 22 | Position: CDM | FPL position: Midfielder | FPL Price: 5.0 Million

Kamara was one of the hot young prospects who was available on a free this summer and Aston Villa swopped in for him to add strength to their midfield. Kamara plays CDM and should improve the defensive performance of the Villa defence. He’s an exciting signing and should propel Villa towards a European spot next season.

He’ll offer little direct impact from an FPL perspective. He has scored just one goal and had one assist in 48 games during the 21/22 season, which says it all from an FPL perspective.

FPL importance: Low(Avoid)

Philippe Coutinho

Previous Club: Barcelona | Age: 29 | Position: LW/CAM | FPL position: Midfielder | FPL Price: 7.0 Million

Coutinho made his return to the PL as a Jan loan signing for Villa. Following a decent half-season, Villa have managed to sign him permanently. Coutinho registered 5 goals and 3 assists in the 22 games he played for Villa this season. With a proper full pre-season, Coutinho could have even better returns. He’ll also be eyeing a WC spot and his performance in the first few months will be crucial to ensure a spot.

FPL importance: High, he could be an ideal mid-priced midfielder next season coming in at only 7 Million

Robin Olsen

Previous Club: Roma Age: 32 Position: GK | FPL position: GK | Position: GK | FPL Price: 4.0 Million

Another Jan loan signing made permanent by Villa. Olsen joins from As Roma on a permanent deal to be the backup keeper for Martinez. His FPL importance should be low as he’s not the first choice but he’s coming at 4.0 Mil and could be a bench keeper. But it’s better to make Olsen as your 4.0 Million keeper if you go Martinez as your first choice. it’s better to have a playing and a nonplaying goalkeeper (4.0 Million) from the same team so that if the first choice is injured or suspended the second one plays.

FPL importance: Nil.

Ludwig Augustinsson

Previous Club: Sevilla | Age: 28 | Position: LB | FPL position: Defender | FPL Price: 4.5 Million

Aston Villa have signed Ludwig Augustinsson on a loan deal from Sevilla for the 22/23 PL season as a backup option for Lucas Digne. The Swedish LB made only 19 appearances for Sevilla last season and had just one assist to his name. He’s not expected to replace Digne and will not be of significant FPL importance, to begin with.

FPL importance: Nil.

Leeds United

Brenden Aaronson

2022/23 premier league transfer updates ~ Brenden Aaronson

Previous Club: Red Bull Salzburg Age: 21 | Position: CAM/CM | FPL position: Midfielder | FPL Price: 5.5 Million

Young American talent, Brenden Aaronson is the first signing of the season for Leeds, signed to play under Marsch. Leeds have long lined up the signing and the transfer was announced right after the season ended. The 21-year-old young attacker played 26 times for Salzburg scoring 5 goals and registering 3 assists. He has also champions league experience having played 8 CL games last season.

FPL Importance: Medium, depending on his prize and how he adapts to the PL.

Rasmus Kristensen

22/23 Premier League new signing for
Leeds ~ Rasmus Kristensen from Salzburg

Previous Club: Red Bull Salzburg | Age: 24 | Position: RB | | FPL position: Defender | FPL Price: 5.0 Million

Another player from RB Salzburg, Kristensen is a popular name having played for Ajax and Feyenoord in the past. He’s a very good signing for Leeds and should start ahead of Luke Ayling from now. Kristensen has got a lot of experience at such a young age and is known to be very attacking. Last season for RB Salzburg he scored 7 goals and made 4 assists in the league from just 29 games. Pretty good numbers for a fullback. He has CL experience as well just like Aaronson and should fit in well at Leeds.

He comes at 5.0 Million which is an odd pricing for a Leeds defender so let’s see how he performs initially before considering him in our FPL Teams.

FPL Importance: Medium, wait and watch in the initial games to see how Leeds backline and Kristensen perform.

Marc Roca

Marc Roca 22/23 Premier League new signing for Leeds from Bayern

Previous Club: Bayern | Age: 25 | Position: CDM/CM/LM/RM | FPL position: Midfielder| FPL Price: 5.0 Million

Leeds are wasting no time and have signed Spanish midfielder Roca from Bayern. He’s the third signing for Leeds and all three have been from Champions League clubs which shows the quality of the signings. Although Roca played only a few times for Bayern, he’s someone who has got the quality and pedigree to be a successful player. He could play in a lot of positions in midfield and it remains to be seen where Marsch will use him. As for as FPL is concerned he’ll not have a huge direct impact at least at the beginning of the season with Aaronson expected to play higher up and be a better FPL asset. He’s also not a 4.5 Million midfielder having priced at 5.0 Million so his FPL relevance is further low initially.

FPL importance: Low

Tyler Adams

Tyler Adams 22/23 Premier League new signing for Leeds from RB Leipzig

Previous Club: RB Leipzig | Age: 23 | Position: CDM | FPL position: Midfielder| | FPL Price: 5.0 Million

Leeds have signed Tyler Adams from RB Leipzig as their Phillips replacement who recently completed a move to Man City. Adams and Jesse Marsch have a long relationship with Marsch handing him his senior debut at New York Reb Bulls and then later managing him at RB Leipzig at the beginning of the last season. Adams joins fellow American international Aaronson at Leeds and is expected to play at the heart of the midfield as a CDM. From an FPL perspective, he’ll not be a direct option but definitely improves the Leeds midfield.

FPL importance: Low

Luis Sinisterra

Luis Sinisterra 22/23 Premier League new signing for Leeds from Feyenoord

Previous Club: Feyenoord | Age: 23 | Position: LW | FPL position: Midfielder | FPL price: 6.5 Million

Leeds have completed the signing of exciting young talent, Luis Sinisterra from Feyenoord. A left-winger predominantly, Sinisterra has scored 20 goals and 19 assists in the Eredivisie since making his debut for Feyenoord in the 2018/19 season. Last year he registered 12 goals and 7 assists in the Eredivisie and 6 goals plus 4 assists in the conference league. In total, he had 23 goals and 14 assists in all competitions last season, which are amazing numbers. From an FPL perspective, he’s the standout Leeds new signing to monitor and should become a vital FPL asset from Leeds this season.

FPL importance: High, could be a strong budget midfielder for the season.

Darko Gyabi

Gyabi 22/23 Premier League new signing for Leeds from Man City

Previous Club: Man City | Age: 18 | Position: CDM/CM | FPL position: Midfielder| FPL Price: 4.5 Million

Leeds lost Kalvin Phillips to Man City but in return got a talented City academy player Darko Gyabi who is just 18 years old. Gyabi could play in the heart of midfield and is an exciting prospect. Leeds look at him as the future and would look to groom him like Kalvin Phillips and play the exact role. He’s most likely not going to be rushed straight into the playing 11 and would be groomed to play a key role in the future. From an FPL perspective, he’s not going to be of any value this season.

He’s priced at 4.5 Million but he’s not expected to start which might not make him an ideal 4.5 Million midfielder.

FPL importance: Nil

Leeds Youth Signings:

Highly rated striker Sonny Perkins joins from West Ham and will link up initially with the U21 team. He should be involved in no time with the first team after already having played for West Ham in the PL, and UEL.

Liverpool

Fabio Carvalho

2022/23 premier league transfer updates ~ Fabio Carvalho to Liverpool

Previous Club: Fulham Age: 19 Position: CAM | FPL position: Midfielder| FPL Price: 5.5 Million

A signing which was supposed to be completed in Jan has now been finally completed. Carvalho is a young and exciting signing for Liverpool. The 19-year-old attacker registered 10 goals and 8 assists in the championship last season for Fulham and was a vital player in a stunning season for Fulham which saw them promoted to the Premier League. With Origi leaving, Mane rumored to leave Carvalho could get minutes once in a while, but Liverpool and Klopp will be patient in grooming the young talent.

Carvalho is an option for the future as he’ll not play immedietly.

FPL importance: Medium(With a host of other options, Carvalho has little importance in FPL as of now but could go on to become a great FPL asset in the future).

Darwin Nunez

22/23 Premier League new signing for Liverpool ~ Darwin Nunez from Benfica

Previous Club: Benfica Age: 22 Position: ST | FPL Position: Forward | FPL Price: 9.0 Million

One of the most promising young strikers in Europe, Nunez was a player in demand and Liverpool had to pay a record fee to land him. Still aged only 22, Nunez has shown he can comfortably score goals even against the biggest of the oppositions. In his first UCL season, he scored 6 goals in 10 games, with goals against Barcelona, Bayern, Ajax, and Liverpool. Totally in the 2021/22 season, he scored 26 league goals in 28 games and had four more assists.

A player who is highly rated by Klopp and seen as the first-choice striker going forward, the excitement and expectation from Nunez is huge. If there is an indication that he’ll start from the beginning he could be a very good FPL asset especially now that Mane has left the club and Firmino having just one year left in his contract.

FPL importance: High, would be a great second choice from the Liverpool attack as he’s priced at only 9 Million.

Calvin Ramsay

22/23 Premier League new signing for Liverpool ~ Ramsay from Aberdeen

Previous Club: Aberdeen Age: 18 Position: RB/RM | FPL position: Defender | FPL Price: 4.0 Million

Liverpool have signed young Scottish talent, Calvin Ramsay from Aberdeen. He’s the third signing for Liverpool this summer and is seen as one for the future. Ramsay scored a goal and 5 assists from 21 SPL appearances. In the six Europa League games last season he got 4 assists which is a good sign for an attacking fullback. He’ll certainly be used as an understudy to TAA and will take another season at least to be fully involved around the first team. Liverpool have now got good backups for both Robbo and TAA going into the season which is a good sign as the two full-backs always play the bulk of games in a season.

He’s 4.0 Million only but could cost you a Liverpool spot.

FPL importance: Low, don’t see him being an FPL option this season.

Man City

Erling Haaland

2022/23 premier league transfer updates ~ Haaland to Man City

Previous Club: Borussia Dortmund | Age: 21 | Position: Striker | FPL Position: Forward | FPL Price: £11.5 Million

One of the most exciting PL signings, Haaland is undoubtedly one of the best young talents in world football. He has scored 135 goals and assisted 36 goals in 183 games so far in his career, his goal-scoring capability is without a doubt. Last season he was injured for a while but still managed to register 22 goals and 8 assists from 24 games. Man City played most of the last season without a striker and still scored freely. The addition of Haaland will mean more goals whenever Man City play next season.

FPL Importance: Very high, could go on to become one of the highest-scoring players in FPL next season.

Stefan Ortega Moreno

2022/23 premier league transfer updates ~ Stefan Ortega Moreno to Man City from Arminia Bielefeld

Previous Club: Arminia Bielefeld Age: 29 Position: Goalkeeper | FPL Position: GK | FPL Price: 4.0 Million

Man City have signed Stefan Ortega Moreno from Arminia Bielefeld as their second-choice goalkeeper after Zack Steffen moved to Middlesbrough in order to get regular playing time ahead of the Worldcup. Since the start of the Bundesliga 2020-21 season, Stefan Ortega Moreno has made the most saves (245), most successful passes (2444), and successful passes into the final third (283) which makes him an ideal Goalkeeper for Pep Guardiola who’s playing style demands goalkeepers to be excellent passers as well to play out from the back. From an FPL perspective, he’ll not replace Ederson and would mostly play cup games.

Although if you go with Ederson as your first choice GK, Ortega could be your ideal second choice GK at 4.0 Million.

FPL importance: Nil.

Kalvin Phillips

2022/23 premier league transfer updates ~ Kalvin Phillips to Man City from Leeds United

Previous Club: Leeds | Age: 26 | Position: CDM | FPL Price: £5.0 | FPL position: Midfielder

Leeds and England star Kalvin Phillips has moved to Man City in an exciting move. Man City needed reinforcements in the central midfield after Fernandinho left the club and Kalvin Phillips is the best player Pep and Man City could have asked for to replace club legend Fernandinho. Still only 26 years old, Phillips has room to improve further under Pep in the upcoming years. Phillips played a key role in Leeds returning to the PL and doing well in their first season back in the PL(20/21), last year he was out injured for a while and his absence was felt massively as Leeds struggled all season. He’ll not walk directly into the playing 11 with Rodri being the first choice DM but Phillips should warrant a spot soon at City.

From an FPL perspective he’s priced at 5 Million, he’ll not be a direct option as he’s not a player playing in attacking positions and is also not known to score goals or provide assists(1 goal and 3 assists in two PL seasons)

FPL importance: Nil.

Chelsea

Raheem Sterling

2022/23 premier league transfer updates ~ Raheem Sterling to Chelsea from Man City

Previous Club: Manchester City | Age: 27 | Position: RW/LW/ST FPL position: Midfielder | FPL Price: 10.0 Million

Raheem Sterling needs no introduction to Premier League and FPL. He has crossed 150+ FPL points for the last 5 consecutive season and went on to cross 200+ points for 3 consecutive season from 2018-2020. 163, 154, 204, 234, 229- These were his last 5 seasons FPL points tally. His points returns got reduced due to his reduced minutes.

That won’t be the case at Chelsea. He should be a nailed starter with his ability to play anywhere in the front 3. He should surely be crossing his tally of 13 goals, 7 assists from the previous season. Coming at a price point of 10.0, which is 3.0 less than Salah, 2.0 less than the likes of KDB and Son, Sterling can be worth a gamble for favorable FPL returns for the good fixtures.

Kalidou Koulibaly

2022/23 premier league transfer updates ~ Kalidou Koulibaly to Chelsea from Napoli

Previous Club: Napoli | Age: 31 | Position: CB FPL position: Defender | FPL Price: 5.5 Million

Kalidou Koulibaly is a household name in European football and needs no introduction. The towering CB has always been linked with a big transfer to the PL and it has finally happened with Chelsea signing the defender. He’ll be surely one of the first names on the teamsheet for the upcoming season with Tuchel looking to tweak his system. From an FPL perspective, he’ll always be the second fiddle to wingbacks Chilwell and James but should Chelsea show good defensive form he could be a great second Chelsea defender to own. He’s very good aerially as well scoring three goals and three assists last season in the Serie A in 27 games, not bad for a CB!

FPL Importance: Medium

Chelsea youth signings:

18-year-old Eddie Beach, a Wales U19 international who was at Saints joins Chelsea to link up with the development squad and continue his development. Hutchinson also joins Chelsea from Arsenal.

Newcastle United:

Matt Targett FPL new signing

Matt Targett

Previous Club: Aston Villa Age: 26 Position: LB | FPL Position: Defender | FPL Price: 5 Million

All eyes are on Newcastle this transfer window, with a big budget and new owners Newcastle are looking to further improve their squad ahead of the new season. A lot of big profile players are linked with the club but the first one to be officially signed is Villa full-back Matt Targett who was on loan at Newcastle for the second half of the season.

In Targett, Newcastle have permanently landed a solid PL-proven left-back for a 15 Million fee. From an FPL perspective, he might be not as attacking as the likes of fullbacks outside the top six(Digne, Cash, Tripper, etc) so there might be better options to consider from the Newcastle backline including the likes of Tripper(5.0 Million) and Schar(4.5 Million). He failed to register a goal/assist for Newcastle in the second half of the season in 16 games but just missed one game during his loan spell.

FPL Importance: Low, could be a decent asset at 5 Million but Tripper a better FPL option at the same price

Nick Pope

Nick Pope FPL new signing for Newcastle from Brunley

Previous Club: Burnley Age: 30 Position: GK

Newcastle United have signed Burnley Goalkeeper, Nick Pope on a four-year deal. Pope was an integral part of the Sean Dyche era and finished as the highest-scoring goalkeeper with 170 points during the 2019/20 season with 15 clean sheets, he started the season only at 4.5 Million. He managed to score 140+ points in the following two seasons although he was priced at 5.5 Million which killed him as an FPL asset. He has not scored less than 130 points ever in Burnley(4 Seasons), with the 130 points from the 21/22 season being the lowest points haul he has had, which was partly due to a drop in CS with Burnley being poor most of the season resulting in them being relegated.

He comes at 5.0 Million and he could be a solid set and forget goal-keeping option for the 2022/23 FPL Season.

FPL Importance: High, could be one of the best GK options if priced right.

Sven Botman

22/23 Premier League new signing for Newcastle ~ Botman from Lille

Previous Club: Lille Age: 22 Position: CB | FPL Position: Defender | FPL Price: 4.5 Million

A transfer that was expected to go through in January has finally been made official. Botman is one of the most exciting CB’s in Europe at the moment who played a key role in helping Lille to their Ligue 1 win in 2020/21. Botman is an Ajax academy graduate and is a brilliant out-to-out modern defender, who’s comfortable with the ball, strong aerially, and decisive. Botman won 74.8% of aerial duels last season and was in the 94th percentile of center-backs in Europe’s Top 5 Leagues. His aerial strength is also seen in set-piece situations, last season he had 3 goals in 25 appearances. Overall Botman is a great addition to the Newcastle backline that already has been strengthened by Targett, and Pope. Together with Schar, Tripper, Targett, the defensive backline of Newcastle is already looking promising.

FPL Importance: Medium, could be a good mid-priced defender as he’s priced at 4.5 Million. It’s between Schar/Burn/Botman for two CB spots with Burn expected to miss out.

Newcastle United youth signings:

Alex Murphy from Galway United has also been signed by Newcastle but is expected to be involved in junior-level first.

West Ham

Nayef Aguerd

22/23 Premier League new signing for west ham ~ Nayef Aguerd from Stade Rennais

Previous Club: Stade Rennais | Age: 26 | Position: CB/LB | FPL Position: Defender | FPL Price: 5.0 Million

West Ham have made Nayef Aguerd as their first signing. Aguerd joins from Stade Rennais and he’s a versatile player who could play both CB/LB, although last season he majorly played as a CB for Stade Rennais. During the Ligue 1 one season, he also registered 2 goals and 3 assists which isn’t a bad attacking return for a defender. He’s however expected to play as an CB majorly for West Ham, a few pre-season games will tell us in which position he’ll play for the Hammers.

FPL Importance: Medium, could be a good mid-priced defender at 5.0 Million if he West Ham are strong defensively but it is to be noted Coufal is only 4.5 Million.

Alphonse Areola

22/23 Premier League new signing for west ham ~ Alphonse Areola from PSG

Previous Club: PSG(On loan at WHU for 2021/22) Age: 29 Position: GK | FPL Position: GK | FPL Price: 4.5 Million

West Ham have signed Areola on a permanent deal from PSG following a successful Loan spell last season. Areola is a World cup winner with France and a high-quality goalkeeper. Last season he majorly played the cup and European games and kept 8 clean sheets in 18 games. In the 2020/21 season, he was on loan at Fulham as their first-choice goalkeeper and played 36 games keeping 9 Clean sheets. West Ham see him as their future no1 goalkeeper and the competition with Fabianski will be even more interesting this season. From an FPL perspective, he’ll not be a good option until we clearly know he’ll be the first choice.

FPL Importance: Low. If he becomes first choice then he’s a great option at 4.5 Million.

Flynn Downes

22/23 Premier League new signing for west ham ~ Flynn Downes from Swansea

Previous Club: Swansea | Age: 23 | Position: Midfielder | FPL Position: Midfielder | FPL Price: 4.5 Million

Lifelong West Ham fan Flynn Downed makes a move to his boyhood club as a player from Swansea. He made his name in the championship last season playing mainly as a CDM, with his passing and tacking particularly being impressive. He’s also represented England up to the U20 level as well. From an FPL perspective, he’ll not be of any value as he’s a CDM with his minutes also not guaranteed.

FPL Importance: Low.

Southampton

Sékou Mara

Previous Club: Southampton | Age: 19 | Position: Forward | FPL Position: Forward | FPL Price: TBC

French U20 international and Bordeaux forward, Sékou Mara joins Southampton in a permanent deal. Coming from the same Bordeaux academy that produced Jules Kounde and Aurelien Tchouameni, Mara to is regarded as a future star which makes him an exciting signing for Southampton who are getting young and upcoming talents this summer. Sékou Mara played 26 times last season and scored 6 goals with Saints struggling for goals in pre-season he could be involved with the first team right away.

FPL Importance: Medium

Gavin Bazunu

Gavin Bazunu 22/23 Premier League new signing for Southampton from Man City

Previous Club: Man City(Spent last season on loan at Portsmouth) Age: 20 Position: GK | FPL Position: GK | FPL Price: 4.5 Million

Southampton have completed the signing of Young Man City and Irish goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu. Bazunu spent last season on loan at Portsmouth who play in League One and are one of the main rivals of the saints. Bazunu kept 16 Clean sheets, and made 135 saves last season both the third-highest in League one and was named the Portsmouth player of the season.

On the international stage, he’s already played 10 times(Debut at 16!) for the Irish national team and has saved a penalty from Ronaldo, and kept a CS vs Portugal in two separate games, not bad for a 20-year-old. He’s widely expected to fit in perfectly at the PL level and should be the first-choice goalkeeper going into the 2022/23 season.

FPL Importance: Medium, could be a good budget goalkeeper as he’s priced at 4.5 million once Saints tough initial run of fixtures are over.

Armel Bella-Kotchap

Armel Bella-Kotchap ~ 22/23 Premier League new signing for Southampton from Vfl Bochum

Previous Club: Vfl Bochum Age: 20 Position: CB | FPL Position: Defender | FPL Price: £4.5 million

Armel Bella-Kotchap joins Southampton from Bundesliga club, Vfl Bochum. The talented youngster plays at CB and has good pace and physical strengths for someone who’s just 20 years old. He’s also known to be very good aerially and could be a threat from set-pieces for Southampton. The Saints defence is ever improving with the addition of Bazunu and now Armel Bella-Kotchap. There could be some budget options for defence from the Saints backline.

He’s priced at 4.5 million but there are better options at 4.5 Mil from the saints defence including KWP who’s priced the same. It also remains to be seen if Bella-Kotchap starts from the beginning.

FPL Importance: Low

Mateusz Lis

Previous Club: Altay SK Age: 25 Position: GK | FPL Position: GK | FPL Price: 4.0 Million

Southampton have also signed another goalkeeper, Mateusz Lis from Turkish club Altay SK. The Polish goalkeeper was a former teammate of Jan Bednarek and is now expected to be the backup goalkeeper for Saints.

FPL Importance: Nil, could be the third-choice goalkeeper behind Bazunu and Alex McCarthy so no point in having him as your second 4.0 Million keeper even if you get Bazunu as your first choice.

Roméo Lavia

Roméo Lavia ~ 22/23 Premier League new signing for Southampton from Man City

Previous Club: Man City | Age: 18 | Position:Midfield | FPL Position: Midfielder | FPL Price: 4.5 Million

Young Belgium talent Roméo Lavia has been brought by Saints from Man City making him their most expensive U18 signing. Lavia was playing for Anderlecht under Kompany who then recommended him to Man City in 2021 following which he moved to City in 2021 were he played mainly for the u18 and u23 teams. He started once in the Carabao cup and came in as a sub in a FA Cup for the senior team last season. He’s someone with immense talent and would look to continue his development under Ralph Hasenhüttl. He mainly plays at CDM and has got excellent ball-winning skills, in FPL terms he’ll not be of any importance this season as his minutes is not guaranteed and even if he plays, he’ll be playing deep in midfield.

FPL importance: Nil

Joe Aribo

Joe Aribo ~ 22/23 Premier League new signing for Southampton from Rangers

Previous Club: Man City | Age: 18 | Position: CM/CAM/RM | FPL Position: Midfielder | FPL Price: 5.5 Million

Saints continue to impress in the transfer window signing Joe Aribo from Rangers. The 25-year-old midfielder comes with a wealth of experience and had a great 21/22 season, having played a key role in Rangers reaching the Europa League final last season. He is highly versatile and could play in various roles in the midfield(Below his positions played in the Scottish Premier League)

Joe Aribo positions played in the 2022/23 SPL season for Rangers

He could be a very useful signing for Saints as they continue to improve their midfield. From an FPL perspective, it has to be seen in which position he’ll operating and with Saints having a tough start to the season it’s better to wait for a while and then look at him as an FPL option.

Southampton youth signings:

Alex Iwumene(17) has joined from Sutton United and will be involved with the academy/U18 level.

Fulham

João Palhinha

João Palhinha 22/23 Premier League new signing for Fulham from sporting CP

Previous Club: Sporting CP Age: 26 Position: CDM | FPL position: Midfielder | FPL Price: 5 Million

Fulham have made João Palhinha as their first signing of the summer. A regular in the Portuguese national team and Sporting midfield, Palhinha was chased by both Fulham and Wolves but in the end, the Marco Silva connection made him choose Fulham. A proven defensive midfielder, Palhinha is a great addition to Fulham’s midfield and drastically improves the midfield unit. He’s a modern holding midfielder with great passing, good interception, and ball-winning skills.

From an FPL perspective, he’ll not be a direct option in our teams as he plays as a number six.

FPL Importance: Low, no direct FPL impact as he’s 5.0 million. Andreas Pereira from Fulham is a 4.5 Mid and is expected to play higher up in midfield.

Andreas Pereira

Andreas Pereira 22/23 Premier League new signing for Fulham from Man United

Previous Club: Man United Age: 26 Position: CDM | FPL position: Midfielder | FPL Price: 4.5 Million

Andreas Pereira’s move to Fulham was eagerly followed by FPL managers as he was already priced at 4.5 Million when the game launched. His move to Fulham now makes him the standout FPL 4.5 Midfielder. Andreas is certainly not a defensive midfielder who are the ones generally priced at 4.5 Million. He’s capable of playing as an 8 or even a 10 role with speculation that Marco Silva will use him as their Fabio Carvalho replacement this season. He’s surely a very good 4.5 FPL midfielder to consider this season surely as he’ll be guaranteed to play all games and potentially higher up in the midfield as well.

FPL Importance: High, one of the best 4.5 Million midfielders in the game.

Everton

James Tarkowski

James Tarkowski 22/23 Premier League new signing for Everton

Previous Club: Burnley Age: 29 Position: CB | FPL Position: Defender | FPL Price: £4.5 million

Tarkowski is a household name in the premier league and was an ever-present figure in the Burnley backline. He’s now joined Everton in a free transfer from Burnley after his contract expired. Over the last four seasons in the premier league, Tarkowski missed only seven games which shows that he’s not injury prone.

Everton have been hampered by injuries to their CB’s last season and Tarkowski is a welcome addition to the backline which currently has Mina, Holgate, Keane, and Godfrey. He’s also a good aerial threat from set-pieces and could chip in with a few goals during the course of the season. From an FPL perspective, he’s priced at 4.5 million. But Everton, on the whole, are struggling with FFP issues hindering them to spend money on the transfer market so it is better to wait until there is clarity in their squad.

FPL Importance: Low, could be a decent option later in the season at 4.5 Million if Everton show defensive strength.

Brighton

Julio Enciso 22/23 Premier League new signing for Brighton

Previous Club: Club Libertad Asunción(Paraguay) Age: 18 | Position: Second Striker | FPL Position: Forward | FPL Price: £5.0 Million

Brighton have made young Paraguayan international Julio Enciso their first signing of the summer. Only 18 years of age, he joins from Paraguayan side Libertad Asuncion. Very little is known about him which is the case for most of the signings made by Brighton with Potter buying young players and developing them into PL-proven players. He has scored 21 goals and 8 assists in his 68 games club career so far and has majorly played as a second striker and other attacking positions. He’s also featured for the Paraguay national team five times. A wait and watch surely with little FPL impact, to begin with.

FPL Importance: Low, Undav, Maupay, Welback all ahead of him

Brighton youth signings:

Simon Adingra

Brighton have signed 20-year-old striker Simon Adingra from FC Nordsjaelland(Danish league team), he’s a product of the famous Right to Dream a project in Ghana run by the owners of FC Nordsjaelland.

Adingra scored 10 goals plus 4 assists in all league & cup games for the club(9 goals, along with three assists in the League). He could develop into a very good asset in the future for Brighton but for the immediate future, he has got work permit issues and he’ll be likely spending 2022/23 on loan to develop his game to the standard of the premier league.

Left to Royale Union Saint-Gilloise on a season-long loan

Brighton have also signed former West Ham academy player Benicio Baker-Boaitey. He moved to Porto a few years back and joins Brighton in a permanent deal(Loan signing in Jan). He’s although expected to be involved in the U23 level.

Bournemouth

Ryan Fredericks

Ryan Fredericks 22/23 Premier League new signing for Bournemouth from West Ham

Previous Club: West Ham | Age: 29 | Position: RB | FPL Position: Defender | FPL Price: £4.5 million

Former West Ham and Fulham Fullback Ryan Fredericks is the first summer signing for Bournemouth who are back in the premier league following a great championship campaign. Ryan Fredericks is a PL proven fullback who is reuniting with Scott Parker under whom he played for Fulham. He’s a good signing for the Cherries, from an FPL perspective he’s not very attacking having not registered an attacking return for the Hammers last season. He’s priced at 4.5 Million, and if the Bournemouth backline is decent then he could come into the FPL Picture as the season progresses.

FPL Importance: Low, could be a good budget defender at 4.5 million in the later stages

Joe Rothwell

Joe Rothwell 22/23 Premier League new signing for Bournemouth from blackburn rovers

Previous Club: Blackburn Rovers Age: 27 Position: CM/CDM | | FPL position: Midfielder | FPL Price: 5.0 Million

Former Man United academy player, Joe Rothwell moves to Bournemouth from Blackburn on a free transfer. Last season for Rothwell was by far the best one in his career with 41 appearances out of the 42 possible in the Championship with 3 goals and 10 assists. He’s a very good utility player who could play in various positions across the midfield(CDM, CM, AM, LM), there are however better FPL assets from Bournemouth including Billing and Solanke. So he’ll most likely not be in our FPL plans for the season.

FPL Importance: Low, better options from Bournemouth attack than Rothwell

Nottingham Forest

TAIWO AWONIYI

TAIWO AWONIYI 22/23 Premier League new signing for Forest from FC Union Berlin

Previous Club: FC Union Berlin Age: 24 Position: ST | FPL Position: Forward | FPL Price: £6.0 Million

Nottingham Forest have broken their transfer record to sign Awoniyi from FC Union Berlin. He was the sixth-highest scoring player in the Bundesliga with 15 goals in 31 games. A player who is known to thrive in counter-attacking setup thanks to his pace and physicality, Awoniyi should be a good fit for Forest under Cooper. The 24-year-old is also highly rated by Klopp having been in the books of Liverpool from 2015-21, although he never made his debut for Liverpool due to work permit issues.

FPL Importance: Medium, could be a good budget striker considering he’s priced at 6.0 Million

Dean Henderson

Dean Henderson 22/23 Premier League new signing for Forest on loan from Nottingham Forest

Previous Club: Manchester United Age: 25 Position: GK | FPL Position: GK | FPL Price: 4.5 Million

Forest have signed Man United keeper, Henderson on loan for the 2022/23 season. Henderson was similarly on loan to Sheffield during their 2019/20 PL season during which he kept a remarkable 13 clean sheets as Sheffield United finished 9th in the PL. Henderson was the second-highest scoring goalkeeper in the PL that season scoring 160 points which included an assist as well. Forest will hope Henderson can replicate the same form this season and being priced at 4.5 Million makes him a great FPL option, as Forest have a good start to the season.

FPL Importance: high.

Giulian Biancone

Giulian Biancone 22/23 Premier League new signing for Forest from Troyes

Previous Club: Troyes | Age: 22 Position: CB/LB/RB | FPL position: Defender | FPL Price: 4.5 Million

Nottingham Forest have signed highly versatile French defender Giulian Biancone from Troyes. A youth product from Monaco who made his debut in the champions league against Athletico Madrid, Giulian Biancone made his name last season at Troyes. He’s capable of playing anywhere in defence having played at CB, LB, and RB for Troyes in Ligue 1 last season.

He’s going to be a really useful asset for Forest and someone who could considerably improve the defence as they gear up for the Premier League season. From an FPL perspective, he’s a wait-and-watch having not shown great attacking numbers(1 goal, 2 assists last season) and expected to play as a CB in a 3 at the back setup and not the wing-back positions with Nottingham signing Liverpool’s Neco Williams for the right wing-back spot and Omar Richards of Bayern Munich for the left wing-back spot.

FPL Importance: Low, we could potentially have a 4.0 Million RB in Neco Willams from Nottingham.

Nottingham Forest youth signings:

Goalkeeper, Ryan Hammond has moved from Millwall to go into the U23 team on a one-year deal, with an option to extend one more year.

Moussa Niakhate

Moussa Niakhate 22/23 Premier League new signing for Forest from Mainz

Previous Club: Mainz | Age: 26 Position: CB | FPL position: Defender | FPL Price: 4.5 Million

Forest have signed Center back, Niakhate from Mainz, he’s the second defensive signing in the space of few days and is expected to play alongside Biancone. During the 2021/22 season scored four times for Mainz in 30 league games which is quite impressive for a CB. He’s also known to be a strong team player having captained Mainz to an impressive 8th place in Bundesliga last season. From an FPL perspective, he’s a wait-and-watch as we could have Neco Willams at 4.0 Million starting for Forest

FPL Importance: Low

Neco Williams

Neco Williams ~ 2022/23 Premier League new signing for Nottingham Forest from Liverpool

Previous Club: Liverpool | Age: 26 Position: CB | FPL position: Defender | FPL Price: 4.5 Million

Neco Williams was a 4.0 Million FPL defender at Liverpool when FPL launched this season. But he’s now moved to Forest where he’s expected to play as RWB. He’s the standout FPL defender at 4.0 Million for the 2022/23 FPL season. In the second half of last season, he played for Fulham on loan registering 2 goals, and 2 assists from 14 games averaging 1.4 shots and 1 key pass per game playing as a right full-back.

FPL Importance: Very high

Omar Richards

Omar Richards 2022/23 Premier League new signing for Nottingham Forest from Liverpool

Previous Club: Bayern Munich | Age: 24 | Position: LB/LWB | FPL position: Defender | FPL Price: 4.5 Million

Omar Richards is the fourth defensive signing for Nottingham Forest which shows the intent Forest are showing in this transfer window. Richards played for Reading till the 2020/21 season before making a move to Bayer on a free transfer last year. Richards made 12 appearances last season in the Bundesliga without any goal/assist. In the 20/21 championship season for Reading, he played an impressive 41 league games but without any goal/assist. He’s still young and should develop to play a key role for Forest in the upcoming season as LWB. From an FPL perspective, he’s priced at 4.5 Million, and with Neco Williams who’ll be playing as the other wing back priced at 4.0 Million kills the FPL importance of him at the moment.

FPL importance: Low

Wayne Hennessey (Burnley)

Wayne Hennessey 2022/23 Premier League new signing for Nottingham Forest from Burnley

Previous Club: Burnley | Age: 35 | Position: GK | FPL position: Goalkeeper | FPL Price: 4.0 Million

Forest have signed journey man Wayne Hennessey as their second choice GK for the 2022/23 season. He’s clearly the second choice but he comes in at 4.0 Million and likely to start if Henderson is injured.

FPL Importance: Low, could be a decent 4.0 million GK option to consider.

Brandon Aguilera

Brandon Aguilera 2022/23 Premier League new signing for Nottingham Forest from Alajuelense

Previous Club: Alajuelense | Age: 19 | Position: CAM | FPL position: Midfielder | FPL Price: Not applicable now as he’s loaned out

Forest have signed Costarican teenage star Brandon Aguilera from Alajuelense, he’ll go straightback back to his homeland to complete a six-month loan with Guanacasteca before joining them. He has played for Costa Rica three times and is WC bound at the age of 19. FPL wise he’ll not be of any impact even in the second half of the season when he comes back as he’ll be groomed and slowly eased into the first team.

FPL Importance: Nil

Harry Toffolo (Huddersfield)

Harry Toffolo 2022/23 Premier League new signing for Nottingham Forest from Huddersfield

Previous Club: Huddersfield | Age: 25 | Position: LB | FPL position: Defender | FPL Price: 4.5 Million

Forest have made another left back signing with Harry Toffolo moving from Huddersfield, the team they defeated in the play offs final. Harry Toffolo had a great season scoring 6 goals and assisting a further seven in the 2021/22 championship season. Overall in three seasons of Championship playing for Huddersfield, he has 9 goals and 15 assists which aren’t bad at all for a fullback. From an FPL perspective, his minutes are not guaranteed with Richards also in the mix and there is another nailed 4.0 Million option in Neco Williams.

FPL Importance: Low

Lewis O’Brien (Huddersfield)

Lewis O'Brien 2022/23 Premier League new signing for Nottingham Forest from Huddersfield

Previous Club: Huddersfield | Age: 23 | Position: CM | FPL position: Midfielder | FPL Price: 5 Million

Another signing from last season play-off rivals Huddersfield. Lewis O’Brien joins Forest with a rich experience in the Championship. He mainly played as a CM/CDM for Huddersfield last season scoring three goals and three assists during the course of the season.

Positions played last season

From an FPL perspective he’s surely a wait-and-watch as there are better Forest attackers to consider.

FPL Importance: Low

Jesse Lingard

Previous Club: Manchester United | Age: 29 | Position: CAM | FPL position: Midfielder | FPL Price: 6.0

Lingard needs no introduction to Premier League and FPL Managers. He did have a great last season at Manchester United managing just 354 minutes of action. We all know what he is capable of delivering from his loan stint at West Ham during the 2020/21 season when he was one of the most own players in the game. He could be the potential Talisman for Nottingham Forest in the coming season.

Jesse Lingard stats from his loan spell at West Ham (20/21) season

  • Goals: 9
  • Assists: 5
  • FPL points: 106, most points amongst all players from GW22 onwards till the end of the season

From GW6, Forest have a fixture swing and Lingard could very much come into play for the likes for Neto who have a difficult swing from GW7 onwards.

FPL Importance: High

Crystal Palace

Malcolm Ebiowei

Malcolm Ebiowei palace new signing from Derby for 2022/23 season

Previous Club: Derby Age: 18 Position: ST | FPL position: Midfielder | FPL Price: 4.5 Million

Young Derby County talent, Malcolm Ebiowei moves to Palace on a free transfer. Ebiowei is regarded as an exciting talent who could play on either side of the wings and centrally too in the attack. Last year in the championship he played 16 times for Derby and scored a goal plus two assists. He’s still developing and raw which would mean he’ll not be rushed soon into the first-team setup. But he’s certainly one to watch out for under Vieira.

He’s £4.5 Million midfielder but he’s not guaranteed to start for Palace this season.

FPL Importance: Nil, will be one for the future and would take time to adapt to the premier league.

Sam Johnstone

Sam Johnstone palace new signing on a free for 2022/23 season

Previous Club: West Brom Age: 29 Position: GK | FPL Position: GK | FPL Price: 4.5 Million

Sam Johnstone moves to Palace from West Brom. A premier league proven goalkeeper, Johnstone further strengthens the GK department of Palace which currently has Guaita and Butland. He’s premier league proven having been the number one goalkeeper for WBA during the 2020/21 PL season.

Johnstone might also be the number one goalkeeper for Palace going forward under Vieira, but it’s not guaranteed at the moment on whether it will be Guaita or Johnstone who’ll start the season as the number one goalkeeper for Palace. Palace have a tricky fixtures to start but you can bring him in with your first WC if he’s first choice as palace a good fixture swing after the initial few gameweeks.

FPL Importance: Medium, could be a good option if he’s the first choice 4.5 Million.

Cheick Doucoure

Cheick Doucoure Crystal Palace new signing from Lens for the 2022/23 season

Previous Club: Lens Age: 22 Position: CDM | FPL position: Midfielder | FPL Price: 5.0 Million

Crystal Palace have signed midfielder Cheick Doucoure from Lens as their potential Gallagher replacement. The 22-year-old Mali international operates as a CDM and is quite highly rated. He has played two full seasons of Ligue 1 football which is good considering his age, as a CDM his attacking output is not high with 3 goals and 5 assists in two seasons. He’s considered a crucial player for Vieira this season but from an FPL perspective, he’ll not be in the picture with a lot more FPL options in Eze, Olise, Edouard, and Zaha all available to choose from Palace.

FPL importance: Nil

Brentford

Aaron Hickey

Aaron Hickey Brentford new signing from Bologna for 2022/23 PL season

Previous Club: Bologna Age: 20 Position: LB/RB | FPL position: Defender | FPL Price: 5.0 Million

Brentford have made young defender Aaron Hickey from Bologna ahead of the 2022/23 PL Season. A very strong and technical full-back, Hickey is good with both feet which enables him to play in both RB and LB positions. Last season he played 35 games in Serie A scoring 5 goals and gaining an assist. He could be a very good option from the Brentford defence but he’s priced at 5.0 Million which isn’t ideal.

FPL Importance: Medium, once his minutes are guaranteed and he shows attacking threat he’ll be definitely in the FPL radar.

Keane Lewis-Potter

Keane Lewis-Potter Brentford new signing from Hull City for 2022/23 PL season
could he be the next Bowen?

Previous Club: Hull City Age: 21 Position: LW | FPL position: Midfielder | FPL Price: 5.5 Million

Brentford have signed Keane Lewis-Potter from Hull City on a six-year deal. The young English midfielder is rated highly and had a good season in the championship scoring 12 goals and assisting three goals from 46 games. He’s a LW majorly but has played attacking mid, RW, LM, and RM last season which shows his versatility. From an FPL perspective, he comes at 5.5 Million, which is a decent price. But he’s surely a wait-and-watch until his minutes are confirmed. Definitely, a one to watch out for during the course of the season.

FPL Verdict: Medium, could be a good choice once minutes are guaranteed.

Thomas Strakosha

Thomas Strakosha Brentford new signing on a free for 2022/23 season

Previous Club: Lazio Age: 27 Position: GK | FPL Position: GK | FPL Price: 4.5 Million

Albanian International Thomas Strakosha has made a move to Brentford where he’s expected to challenge Raya to be the first choice GK. Raya has been stalling on a contract and Should it continue he would risk his playing spot. Thomas Strakosha was the number one keeper for Lazio for a long time but his form did take a dip which resulted in Lazio not renewing his contract. It is to be seen if he’ll immediately replace Raya or not which kills him as an FPL asset, to begin with even though he’ll be priced at 4.5 Million.

Ben Mee

Previous Club: Burnley Age: 32 Position: CB | FPL Position: DEF | FPL Price: 4.5 Million

Ben Mee has joined Brentford from the relegated side Burnley. He should give a big boost to Brentford defense. Since 2014/15 while playing 7 seasons in the Premier League, he has played more than 2500 minutes in 6 of those seasons. He has the PL experience, a solid defense alongside and his set-piece threat(3 goals last season) makes him a great option for the start of the season at just 4.5 million.

FPL Verdict: High, could be a good choice right away due to injuries to other centre backs Ajer, Pinnock and Brentford’s nice opening fixtures(till GW8).

Wolves

Nathan Collins

Previous Club: Burnley | Age: 21 | Position: CB FPL position: Defender | FPL Price: 4.5 Million

Wolves have finally made a signing with Nathan Collins moving to Wolves from Burnley. Collins made his name in the Burnley defence last season playing as a CB and is a very good player. He’s a CB but technically he can play both CB and RB roles which is an added bonus for Lage. Only 21 he’s already made a name in the PL and the international stage having played 6 times already for Ireland. Although a CB he’s also known to score goals having scored two crucial goals for Burnley last season. From an FPL perspective, he’s coming in at 4.5 Million and could be a decent rotation-friendly choice like Coady last time.
