Top FPL GW14 Differential Picks
Elliot Anderson – Nottingham Forest – £5.4 Midfielder – 4.1 % TSB

- Anderson is having a brilliant season with him already earning an England call up. He has scored once and provided 2 Assists already. He is a 90 minute man and has not missed a single minute this season. He already has 56 Points and is Forest’s Highest FPL point scorer. There is also a small chance that he may take the next penalty, as Gibbs White has missed the last penalty(and is also an injury concern)
- His routes to points are diverse with Defcon points a staple of his diet. He has earned the additional 2 points 8 times this season and has finished on 11 Defcon 4 times. He even got 2 Bonus points last Gameweek without any attacking returns. Also speaking of consistency, he has earned 4 points in 5 of the last 6 Gameweeks.
Top Midfielders for DEFCON this season:
- Anderson- 175
- Xhaka- 146
- Szoboszlai- 145
- Caicedo- 140
- Bruno Fernandes- 137
- Forest face a Wolves team which is ranked in the Bottom 3 for Non Penalty xGC and Bottom 5 for Shots on Target. They have conceded the most Goals in the League (28) so far this season and are yet to keep a Clean Sheet and win a game of football. Their confidence is at rock-bottom.

Yankuba Minteh – Brighton – £6.2 Midfielder – 8.4 % TSB

While Anderson can be your safe, cheap and reliable Sarr replacement, If you are looking for a player with high ceiling it has to be Yankuba Minteh. The upcoming fixtures look really good with only the ARS(A) fixture in GW18 the difficult one. They play West Ham(twice), Burnley and Sunderland over the run of next 7 games.
Minteh has had 1 goal, 7 FPL Assists from 13 games this season. In fact, no player has more FPL assists than Minteh this season. While he has only one goal this season, Goals also should start coming in with Minteh taking 19 Shots inside the box(6th highest among Mids) and recording 2.29 xG. Minteh has also hit the DEFCON threshold once this season.
Top Players for FPL Assists this season:

With Mitoma going through an injury, Brighton have relied heavily on Minteh for the chance creation this season. With a good run of fixtures, he is definitely a good buy as he won’t be leaving to AFCON as Gambia have failed to qualify.

Maxence Lacroix – Crystal Palace – £5.1 Defender – 5.5 % TSB

- Palace stand out from a defensive perspective. They are ranked joint 2nd for fewest Goals conceded (11) and have got the 2nd most Clean Sheets this season (6). Add to that Burnley are the Bottom ranked team for Shots, Shots in the Box, xG and Non Penalty xG. They are ranked in the Bottom 3 for Shots on Target and ranked in the Bottom 4 for Big Chances. They have scored only 15 Goals (5th worst in the League), which could make this a fixture to target for your Palace defenders.
- Lacroix has been a Defcon monster having only been outscored by Senesi in terms of Total Defcon among Defenders.

- He has earned the additional 2 points in 8 of the 13 Gameweeks. Plus he carries good goal threat having already taken 5 Shots in the Box, 1 Shot on Target, got 2 Big Chances, carved out 0.98 xG, played 3 Key passes and created 2 Big Chances. Josko Gvardiol – Manchester City – £5.8 Defender – 5.8 % TSB

While O’Reilly has been the trending City defender and rightly so due to his higher ceiling and attacking threat, Gvardiol offers a role reliable choice in terms of minutes during this festive period. Despite his attacking threat getting reduced this season as he has been playing at CB, Gvardiol is still a good threat from set pieces.
From 9 games this season, Gvardiol has had 7 Shots, Created 3 chances and has recorded 1.4 xGI.
While the upcoming fixtures are good for Manchester City, Their defensive numbers have been solid this season. They are ranked only behind Arsenal for Expected Goals Conceded this season.

Malick Thiaw- Newcastle- £4.9 Defender – 1.0% TSB

Malick Thiaw is coming on the back of a massive 16 pointer vs Everton in GW13 courtesy 2 goals. Even though this pick might sound like a haul chasing pick, Both form and fixtures are on the Newcastle Defender’s side. Newcastle are ranked 4th least for xGC this season and only behind Arsenal, City and Liverpool. Thiaw is clearly one of the target men on set pieces with 9 Shots, 4 Big Chance Involvements, 1.5 xGI from 10 matches.
