Euro Fantasy Football Match-day 1 is around the corner. Here is our analysis on the best defenders to have in your Euro Fantasy team going into Match-day 1. We have classified defenders into three categories, Premium defenders, mid range defenders and Budget defenders. So let’s have a look at our six defender option whom we feel should be in your Euro Fantasy squads.

• Premium Defenders (5.5 Mil+)
• Mid Range Defenders (4.5 Mil – 5.5 Mil)
• Budget Defenders (<4.5 Mil)

Euro Fantasy Best Premium Defenders

1. Joao Cancelo Price: 6 Million TSB 23%

Fixtures: MD1 Hungary, MD 2 Germany, MD3 France

We’ve got to know Joao Cancelo over his superb season at Man City, the Marauding fullback got 138 point in FPL this season with A LOT of rotation. We shouldn’t see nearly the amount of rotation he got from City to his national side, he ‘should’ have that RB spot nailed down.

Portugal are being regarded as one of the favorites for the competition and Cancelo seems the best option for their defense. Portugal conceded only 7 goals in 10 Qualifying games managing 5 clean sheets along the way!

For the Limitless MD 2 or 3 strategy leaves players looking for one-week punts and after 8 Goal contributions ( 3 goals and 5 assists) with Portugal being big favorites vs Hungary is Cancelo your man?

Euro Fantasy Mid Range Defenders (4.5 Mil – 5.5 Mil)

2. Andrew Robertson Price: 5.5 Million TSB 16%

Fixtures: MD1 Czech Republic, MD2 England, MD3 Croatia

Liverpool favourite and one of the BEST fullbacks in the world is captaining Scotland in their first major tournament in 23 years! Their whole camp will be raring to go and expect extremely high tempo and intensity which suits Robbo down to the ground, we expect Robbo to be on all corners and crossing areas from free kicks

Robertson will be employed as a LWB and will be allowed to be very attacking and Scotland primary attacking threat, since he moved to Liverpool in 2017 he’s got 35 assists and 4 goals which are ludicrous numbers for a LB, whether he can show these numbers for Scotland is a different question, he looked very lively and came away with an assist vs Netherlands In a warmup friendly.

3. Oleksandr Zinchenko Price: 5.5 Million TSB 7%

Fixtures: MD1 Netherlands, MD2 North Macedonia, MD3 Austria

OOP ALERT!!! As a community don’t we all love a OOP, Zinchencko normally plays as a LB for his clun Man City but Ukraine he is employed as a Left sided attacking winger or in behind the striker! He’s labelled as a defender in game but that was a mistake and should be a promising player especially as he’s really low owned!

Ukraine as a team are being slightly overlooked as a team especially in MD2 with a easier fixture vs North Macedonia, with many players playing their Limitless could Zinchenko be the player your looking for?

4. Leonardo Bonucci Price: 5.5 TSB 5%

Fixtures: MD1 Turkey, MD2 Switzerland, MD3 Wales

The experienced main Italian Defender the veteran seems to have been around forever! Italy are big favourites for their group with all being deemed as winnable games, Italy have always been one of THE best nations defensively, being 5.5 , nailed and plays for Italy there isn’t much not to like! Will you be going with the Italian?

5. Martin Hinteregger Price 4.5 Mil TSB 3%

Fixtures: MD1 North Macedonia, MD2 Netherlands, MD3 Ukraine

The 6 Foot 1 giant is a bargain! The goalscoring CB seems great value at 4.5M in a defensively solid Austria team, the Frankfurt man is always an aerial threat from set-pieces which had shown grabbing 11 goals in the last 3 seasons for his club, will the Austrian be in your team?

6. Joakim Maehle Price 4.5% TSB 2%

Fixtures: MD1 Finland, MD2 Belgium, MD3 Russia

Joakim has just recently broke into the Danish team and its been massively deserved, the Atlanta man has been a free-flowing attacking Fullback, he’s already shown the attacking threat by scoring once in his 2 games for his nation, the 4.5M man seems really nice value and has a simpler task vs Finland which could be good for players treating MD1 like a ‘free hit’!
