Best Upside FPL Picks from FPL GW17

Aleksandar Mitrovic FUL £6.8

One of the best players so far, Mitrovic has offered managers great value with 9 goals in the first half of the season. Mitrovic still remains one of the picks with the most upside outside the top 7 given his amazing schedule and great form. Mitrovic has the 4^th easiest schedule for attackers, which includes a decent DGW 19, in which he will be one of the best captain options. Mitrovic also showed great form before the World Cup break, ranking 5^th amongst forwards in xGI. Mitrovic will not be as highly owned, given he is on 4 yellow cards (1 away from a 1 game suspension) and the other good forward options, so this is a good risk to take with a massive upside.

James Maddison LEI £8.2

One of the most underrated FPL assets this season, Maddison has been outstanding, with 7 goals and 4 assists before the World Cup Break. Maddison does have two tough fixtures to restart his season against Liverpool and Newcastle, but this should not deter buyers as Maddison has plenty of attacking returns against tough opposition over the past two seasons. The upside for Maddison lies in those GW19-22 fixtures in which Maddison faces 3 opponents in the top 10 of most goals conceded so far this season. With many managers focusing on other mid-priced midfield options, punting on Maddison and his upside can rocket you up the ranks.

Andreas Pereira FUL £4.6

One of the best budget enablers this season in this list? As obvious as it may seem, the inclusion of Andreas in this list is about the upside of a threemium approach that playing Andreas each GW gives you. Andreas has the 4^th easiest schedule for attackers, which includes a decent DGW 19 in which he could be a captain alternative to Mitrovic (especially if the latter is suspended). With 2 goals and 5 assists this season, on set pieces and penalties, if Mitrovic is suspended, Pereira is a perfect pick to go for that aggressive high, upside three premium GW17 team.

Rodrigo LEE £6.3

A template breaker in the early part of the season, Rodrigo has been outstanding this season with 9 goals and 1 assist. Rodrigo also has shown insane underlying stats, ranking 2^nd amongst all midfielders in xG. Most managers will be put off Rodrigo, given the Manchester City fixture in GW17. However, from GW18-25, Rodrigo has the 6^th easiest attackers for attackers giving Rodrigo plenty of opportunities for the double-digit hauls he has provided managers with this season. With Bamford always an injury doubt, Rodrigo will be on some set pieces and penalties, giving him an even higher ceiling.

Leandro Trossard BHA  £7.1

Trossard enters as the last high-upside pick of players outside the top 7 given the haul potential he has shown this season and his decent fixtures. Trossard has shown amazing form this season regardless of the manager, with 7 goals and 3 assists, including 2 double-digit hauls. Trossard also ranks 6^th in xGI amongst all midfielders. The Arsenal and Liverpool fixtures are tricky on paper, but Trossard already scored a hat trick at Anfield. With a proven record this season, Trossard is a great pick for managers who want that differential upside player.
