FPL GW37 Tips – Key Questions/Dilemmas Answered

1) How many hits can I take this week ahead of FPL GW37?

How many hits can I take this week ahead of FPL GW37?

There is no one correct answer to this question. If you believe your team is in good shape and there aren’t any major issues to solve or areas to attack, you don’t have to take multiple hits to do something different.

Try to assess your team’s overall readiness for GW37. You have a good base setup if you have players like Son and Palmer in your team, along with the Man City and Newcastle player triple-ups. Then you can see how aggressive you want to go with other attackers from Tottenham and Chelsea.

Overall, unless you have picked players at risk of not starting in Gameweek 37 and you don’t have enough bench cover, you don’t need to take hits to complete your playing XI or even your bench if you are using the ‘Bench Boost’ chip.

It also doesn’t make much sense to take -12s,-16s, and more just to get Double gameweek players over your regular players this week. Try not to take many hits unless your bench is filled with injured players.

There is no right or wrong answer here, as there is no single way of playing FPL. It depends on how comfortable you are with your team this week and how much risk you will take. If any players would improve your squad, lock in that transfer before the deadline.

2) How to prepare for FPL Double Gameweek 37?

As all of you know by now, Gameweek 37 is a Double Gameweek. These are the teams doubling in GW37.

Double Gameweek 37

✅ Chelsea vs Nottingham Forest(A), Brighton(A)
✅ Newcastle vs Brighton(H), Man Utd(A)
✅ Tottenham vs Burnley(H), Man City(H)
✅ Man City vs Fulham(A), Tottenham(A)
✅ Man Utd vs Arsenal(H), Newcastle(H)
✅ Brighton vs Newcastle(A), Chelsea(H)

If you are Free-Hitting in GW37, you can easily set up a team with 11 Doublers and maximize GW37. If you are not, you can still join the players having a double and use the Bench Boost chip (if available).

Triple Man City looks like the way to go. Haaland + Foden is a good, safe double-up on the attack. You can go with KDB and a triple Man City attack if you want to be aggressive. Gvardiol, in defence, is a good pick if you have a spot open.

Newcastle is the next team I am interested in. Fabian Schär is likely out for the first game and can also be out for the second one. If you have him on your team, looking at a different Newcastle defender would be better. You can get in Dan Burn at £4.7m. We can double up on the Newcastle attack with Gordon and Isak. Both are reasonably priced and are in fantastic form. Tripling up on Newcastle is a great strategy and is likely to be popular, as they have great fixtures this week.

FPL GW37 Transfer Targets - Nicolas Jackson

Chelsea and Tottenham are two more teams to target for the double in GW37. If you already have Palmer and Son, hold both, as they are good options. Other players from both teams are tricky to choose. Chelsea aren’t solid defensively, but Petrovic is still an okay option. He can still be good for save points, but other than him, there are no obvious choices in defense. Nicolas Jackson is an option if you want to go aggressive, and doubling up on the Chelsea attack is the way to go here.

For Spurs, you can get Porro in defense. Like Chelsea, don’t expect much in terms of clean sheets, but Porro can provide you with attacking returns. Double up on the Spurs’ attack is also a differential strategy. Latest news from Athletic is that Richarlison is likely ruled out for the season, so Johnson+ Son is a good differential.

I am not very keen on Man Utd and Brighton players, as there are better players to go for in the double this week.

If you are ‘Bench Boosting’, you can go with someone like Dunk or a second Chelsea defender. Don’t expect clean sheets here, but if anything comes up, it’s a bonus.

3) How do you plan in case you are chasing rank/mini-league rivals?

How do you plan for FPL GW37 in case you are chasing rank/mini-league rivals?

Gameweek 37 presents FPL managers with a great chance to boost their rank or catch up on their mini-league rivals. It’s a double gameweek, and there are aggressive bets you can make.

Most of the managers will try to get triple Man City players. You can go differential by getting a triple-up (Haaland + Foden + KDB) on the City attack.

You can even go with players like Jackson as attacking double-ups from Chelsea.

Another way to go differential is to go for a differential captain and hope that a popular captaincy option like Haaland doesn’t do too much damage. You can go for Palmer or one of Son/Isak as your differential captain to gain rank.

4) What to do with Arsenal players this week?

What to do with Arsenal players this week?

Arsenal players are giving us quite a dilemma this week. Arsenal players don’t have a double gameweek in GW37, and the question remains: what should we do with them? The logic is to transfer out the players for double gameweek options. But it’s not really that simple!

Bukayo Saka has scored 28 points in the last 3 gameweeks, and removing him is still a considerable risk, but if you want to go aggressive, you can take him out for players like Son/Palmer/KDB/Foden (if you don’t have them yet)

Arsenal injury news ahead of FPL GW37

Not having any Arsenal players can be slightly damaging, especially when he is playing that leaky Man Utd defence. Having at least one Arsenal defender makes sense if you want to play it safer. Gabriel is still the cheapest pick, and he is pretty decent. This can still be okay if you are playing the ‘Bench Boost’ chip

Arsenal attackers are purely optional. I expect Saka’s ownership to go down, but he can still do some damage. If you want to protect rank and play it safe, keep Saka; otherwise, sell for a Double Gameweek midfielder you don’t have.

That will be all from my side for this week! I wish you all the best for FPL Gameweek 37, and I will see you all next week.
