You have 15 key decisions to make and there isn’t much time left. Must own players for your FPL GW17 Team
Erling Haaland, £12.2
18 goals, 3 assists from 15 games in the Toughest league in the World! Safe to say that Haaland is enjoying life in Premier League and is owned by a whopping 82.8% FPL managers already. He also tops all the underlying numbers- Top for Shots inside the box(49), Big chances(21) and also Expected Goals(11.05). Two kind fixtures to start off like Leeds(A), Everton(H) is just an added bonus.
Haaland fixtures from GW17- GW25:
As it stands, Manchester City is the only team confirmed to have 2 Double Gameweeks– GW20 vs United(A), Spurs(H) and GW23 vs Villa(H), Arsenal(A). This makes it a no-brainer to go for Haaland from GW17 onwards.

Kieran Trippier, £5.9
Trippier is having a tremendous season with 13 returns(9 clean sheets, 4 assists) from 15 games. Among defenders, he has the most FPL points(96) this season. Second on the list is very far behind with Saliba at 74 points- Shows the gap between Trippier and the rest of the pack. Trippier is also on corners and free kicks which makes him a great asset. This also helps in accumulating Bonus points as he is already on top for Bonus points(17) among defenders.

- Chances Created– 34(1st)
- Big Chances created– 7(1st)
- Successful crosses– 53(1st)
- Expected Assists– 4.48(1st)
- Non-Penalty Expected Goal Involvement– 4.87(1st)

Miguel Almirón, £5.8
Almiron is a gift that keeps on giving and still some managers keep ignoring it. But with unlimited transfers for GW17, it is still not late. It does not make sense to ignore the Highest scoring FPL Midfielder this season at just £5.8. Who would have imagined at the start of the season that a 5.8 million Budget midfielder from Newcastle will have more FPL points than the likes of Salah and KDB!
Since GW9, Almiron has 7 goals(1st), 4 Double Digit hauls(1st), 71 FPL points(1st) from 8 games averaging 8.87 points/game.
Newcastle face only one Top 6 side till GW23 and Almiron is an absolute steal at just 5.8 million. Almiron is also in good form- Came off the bench to score 2 goals in the last friendly vs Al Hilal on 8th December. He should be a lock in your FPL GW17 Team!

Mohamed Salah, £12.8
6 goals, 4 assists from 14 games– Yet it looks like Salah is having a ordinary season. This is mainly due to the lofty standards he has set for himself. His underlying numbers has improved as the season progressed- suggested by below numbers.
Salah(GW1- GW9) vs Salah(GW10- GW16)
- Matches– 7 vs 7
- Big Chances– 6 vs 8
- Shots Inside the box– 18 vs 21
- Expected Goals– 3.11 vs 3.87
With Luis Diaz confirmed to be out for 3 months and Jota out at least till late January, the onus will be on the main man Salah to help Liverpool get back on track. He should also be occupying more central positions and taking more shots due to these injuries. With Salah among the several Key Players not going to World Cup, he has got good rest and should be raring to go!

Diogo Dalot, £4.8
Probably the least owned among the players mentioned in the article, But Dalot has both form and fixtures to back him up. He is a great budget pick. In fact, Dalot ranks second for chances created(20) among Defenders <5.0 million. His crossing ability makes him a Bonus point magnet too as he ranks second for Bonus Points(12) among defenders this season.
Teams with the Lowest Open Play xG this season:
- Bournemouth- 7.90
- Crystal Palace- 9.88
- Nottingham Forest- 10.15
- Wolves- 10.62
Manchester United play 3 of these sides in their opening 3 fixtures when the season re-starts. This means that there is a good chances for clean sheets as well as attacking returns for Dalot in the first 3 games.
Injury update- Dalot was taken off injured at the World Cup Quarter finals and he is set to be assessed by Manchester United’s medical staff. Wait for the latest updates before locking him in your teams!
