This GW, Manchester City, and Southampton are the only teams playing twice. The fact that Man City are having a DGW makes it harder to captain a single GW player, also if you are captaining a City asset you try to make sure he has a big chance of starting both games and let luck do the rest.
FPL GW27 Captain picks
Ilkay Gündogan vs MUN (H), SOU (H)
Gundogan has a high chance to start both games as he was rested for the Wolves game, we all know how good he has been this season. He is still making those runs into the opposition box but he didn’t get as many chances lately. I don’t think KDB being back from injury is the reason he didn’t return as much recently, but if it is, there is a chance KDB gets rested for the Southampton game preparing for the UCL games.
Manchester United could have conceded against Chelsea and they don’t have the best defense, I can see City scoring in the Manchester Derby. Man City tend to increase the rhythm and attack more after conceding one goal, if one of the United or Southampton scored early those who captained a City attacker might be the winners.

Joao Cancelo vs MUN(H),SOU(H)
I mean look at that heatmap! The most attacking defender was rested against West Ham giving him a high chance to start the next two games. City like to finish a lot with a one-nil win, I guess the United game might be one of those, and it’s highly likely City keep a CS against Southampton. Cancelo’s upside is huge.
His heatmaps are amazing, but his underlying stats aren’t impressive as how he looks in the eye test. He had 11 touches in the box(10th between defenders),xG 0.60 (9th), 1 big chance (joint six with a lot of other defenders), 6 key passes (7th), 1 big chance created, xA 0.77 (7th), 31.4 xPTS (5th) over the past 4 GWs. I fancy his chances of getting an attacking return more than Dias.

Harry Kane vs CRY(H)
Crystal Palace are one of the worst teams in the league ,and Tottenham seem to be back on form , he missed some easy chances in the past few games which means he is getting more chances than he used to. If you are captaining him you are taking a big risk as City assets might explode.

His stats are so similar to those of Gundo, if you think Gundogan is blanking against Manchester United you can captain Kane as he plays full 90 minutes most of the games.

I can’t see many other options as fixtures and form for other options isn’t great, but if you have a feeling about a player always your gut and don’t be afraid of taking big risks.
