The biggest Double game week in the history of FPL hasn’t been that kind to most of us FPL managers with a lot of things not going our way. A couple of popular assets including the likes of Bruno, Sterling and Kane all providing little or no returns. This combined with the factor that Harvey Barnes, the most transferred in player ahead of DGW26 getting injured during the first game which made life difficult for FPL managers. But we have the FPL GW27 deadline fast approaching us, presenting us another chance to try and climb up in OR and mini-leagues. In this differential blog, we look at the top five differentials who are less than 10% owned for this week including potential Harvey Barnes replacements.
FPL GW27 Differential Picks:
Jesse Lingard vs Leeds United(H) £6.0, TSB: 6.6%
Jesse Lingard has been brilliant since joining West Ham United in the January transfer window. The midfielder has been playing in a free flowing role which has enabled him to be in the centre of hammer’s attack. Jesse has been involved in five of the nine goals that west ham scored since his debut, a goal involvement percentage of 56%. Most of his stats have already beaten his last season tally in just five games which further shows how integral he’s towards the hammers attack.

Although Leeds have been improving defensively after conceding only 9 goals in the last six games their style of play allows Lingard to thrive and this could be a perfect matchup for him to exploit. There’s definitely a big haul in this games for Jlingz. West Ham are also very good at home having registered 24 points at home this season, only Man city have scored more points at home so far.
At 6 Mil he could also be a perfect Harvey Barnes replacement. But it is worth remembering that he’s ineligible to play in GW28 against Manchester United. He does has a fixture in GW29 against Arsenal.

Gareth Bale vs Crystal Palace £9.3, TSB: 1.5%
Bale has returned to him old majestic form. This is want every Spurs fan, football fan and FPL managers always wanted to hear for a while. Bale got the most points(21) in the Double Gameweek 26 to reward his < 1% owners. He has 5 shots, 3 shots inside the box, xG- 0.67 across 2 games. He will be fancying his chances yet again, against a Palace side who has 34 big chances(4th highest), 26 goals(4th highest) since GW13.
Mourinho about Bale after the Burnley game- “I want to play him Thursday(vs Fulham) and next week vs Dinamo Zagreb but I don’t think I can.” Says Bale’s feelings will be fundamental to how many minutes he’ll get. Perhaps this is a indication that Bale’s minutes will be managed. Also considering how important Europa league could be, Bale would be rested for a game in the upcoming games. But he is definitely not a short term option considering his return to form.

Aubameyang vs Burnley(A), TSB: 6.7%
Truth to be told, Aubameyang has not been in the best of form this season getting just 8 goals, 1 assist to get 96 points this season. That is not the numbers you expect from a premium player. But Aubameyang may very well be in for a late flourish with decent fixtures till the end of the season. Arsenal also have a game in Blank GW29 which further increases his worth. Aubameyang has not shown mercy against smaller teams on his day this season- 15 points against Newcastle, 20 points against Leeds. There could be no escape for Burnley who conceded 4 goals against Spurs in the last game. With premium midfielders Salah(Blanking in last 3), Bruno(Blanking in last 2) and both of them not having a game in GW29, this could be the perfect time to gamble a differential in the form of Aubameyang in FPL GW27.
Stat Attack:
- Burnley have not beaten Arsenal at Turf Moor in Premier League history
- Aubameyang has 7 goals and 1 assist against Burnley from just 6 games in Premier League
Saka(5.2) could also be a very good differential shout at just 8.9% TSB if you are looking for a direct replacement for Barnes. Since GW15, Saka has 4 goals, 4 assists from 10 games fetching 63 points averaging 6.3 points per game.

Reguilon vs Crystal Palace(H), TSB: 3.1%
Spurs have finally sort of found their best back four in the past few games. They have good fixtures till the end of the season- They have only United and Leicester with FDR > 3 from now till the end of the season. Reguilon returned from injury against Burnley in GW26 and straight away got an assist, clean sheet to fetch 10 points. He was rested for the Fulham game which means he is not likely to be rested in the upcoming weeks. Spurs also have a game in Blank GW29, which makes Reguilon a tempting differential pick for FPL GW27.
Stat Attack:
Spurs have 3 clean sheets from 6 games since GW22, which is the joint 2nd highest in the league. Their opponents Crystal Palace have recorded just 5 big chances since GW16 which is by far the lowest in the league. To put it into perspective, Newcastle are the second-worst during this period but have recorded 13 big chances. Palace are also worst for shots on target(25), shots inside the box(51), xG(6.30) during this period.

Ultra-Differential Pick for FPL GW27(<1% TSB):
Mbaye Diagne vs Newcastle, TSB: 0.7%
West Brom have been a lot better in the last few weeks, and potentially have a winnable match against Newcastle in FPL GW27. One of the reasons for them to play better in recent times is the presence of Diagne. The Senegalese international has 1 goal and 1 assist in 6 matches in FPL.
Truth to be told, he has underperformed massively during this time. Diagne has had 7 big chances from last 6 matches- which is the highest for any player in the league. To put this in perspective, Callum Robinson and Karlan Grant combined have managed 5 big chances all season. Diagne has had 13 shots, 12 from inside the box, xG-2.98 from the last 6 games but has just a goal to show. Diagne didn’t return in both of the games in GW26 but had 2 big chances, 4 shots inside the box from 2 games. Perhaps he is definitely due a haul and it is time to convert his numbers into points and help save West Brom from the relegation battle.
