In this blog, we look at FPL Gameweek 1 drafts consisting of the most expensive player(Haaland, £14.0m), most expensive midfielder(Salah, £12.0m), and most expensive defender(Trent Alexander Arnold, £8.0m) ahead of the 2023/24 FPL season

2023/24 Season FPL Gameweek 1 Drafts
Draft 1 with Haaland + Salah + TAA(4-5-1)
- A 4-5-1 formation with Rashford and Saka in midfield along with the trio of Haaland, Salah, and Trent
- Weak bench with Baldock the only playing option at the moment, but if we have a playing 4.0 goalkeeper and a playing 4.5 forward then it could be manageable.
- Why Trent? – TAA looked really good in the inverted full-back position playing like a midfielder getting 7 assists, and 1 goal from the last 10 games of the season. If he can continue to play in that position, TAA is well worth the money with set pieces in his armory as well.
- The rest of the defence is in a strong position too with Gabriel, Cash, and Estupinan all offering good attacking threat along with CS potential! (Budget and Mid-priced defenders blogs)
- Andreas(5.5 Million) could be some other emerging player in the 5.0 or 5.5 Million bracket from pre-season with the likes of Kluviert/Billing/Brownhill all amongst the goals/assists in the opening round of pre-season games
- Nailing the 5/5.5 Million midfielder is key for this draft along with the hope that we have one playing 4.5 million forward for bench cover

Draft 2 with Haaland + Salah + TAA(4-4-2)
- A 4-4-2 draft, with Rashford and Jesus along with the trio of Haaland, Salah, and Trent
- Fixtures are a bit tough for Gibbs White but he was the highest-scoring Forest player with 145 points and still offers great value at 6.0 Million this season.(Best Mid Priced Mids blog)
- Shaw could also become Estupinan and then the extra 0.5 Million can help you upgrade MGW to Mbeumo/Eze as well
- Why Eze? – Eze did finish last season on a high. He looked so good under Roy Hodgson who is set to continue as the Palace manager. In fact, Only Salah(85) got more FPL points than Eze(67) among FPL Midfielders from GW29 till the end of the season. This has pushed the price of Eze to 6.5 which is still a good price point for a in-form talisman. In his first game pre-season game, Eze got a goal and 3 assists in a 4-0 win(Best Mid Priced Mids blog)
- The draft has Chiquinho. He is now out on loan. He can be moved to Nakamba/Ahamada- Read more here(4.5 Midfielder options blog)

Draft 3 with Haaland + Salah + TAA(4-4-2)
0.5 in the bank
- This draft relies on the importance of a budget-forward option in the 5.0/5.5 Million range, some of the promoted team strikers could be options like Ndiaye(Sheffield United)/Zeki Amdouni(New Burnley striker) or Joao Pedro. Vinicius could also be an option at 5.0 Million if Fulham sell Mitrovic!
- There is 0.5 million in the bank. If there is not a proper 5.5 striker, Pedro can be upgraded to DCL/Ferguson(based on pre-season). If there is a good 5.5 striker, Veltman/Henry can be upgraded to Estupinan/Gabriel.

Draft 4 with Haaland + Salah + TAA(3-5-2)
- A 3-5-2 draft with a better bench cover with 4.5 Million defender Cash as the first sub
- A strong 5.5/5.0 midfielder in that Enciso slot and a strong 6.0/6.5 forward for the DCL slot is key for this draft as you have to play one or both of them in this draft format
