FPL GW35 Scout Picks Based on Stats, Analysis, and Matchups

Welcome to our FPL GW35 Scout Picks blog. Our fantastic scout @FPLDaggaFC (Do follow him on Twitter) is back with his Scout picks for Gameweek 35, as always our Scout picks are backed up by eye test, stats, and analysis.

Last season our scout picks won 21.5 vs 15.5 against the Official FPL Scout picks. This season the score is 17.5-16.5 heading into GW35 with AllAboutFPL scout having the lead!

FPL GW35 Scout Picks

FPL GW35 Scout Picks – Goalkeeper

Petrovic takes the gloves in our Scout team even with a tough Double Gameweek vs Villa(A), Tottenham(H). Even though the chances of a clean sheet look really slim, the idea of 2 Double Gameweeks(5 matches) for Chelsea between GW35-GW37 makes him a decent pick. If Chelsea could somehow manage a clean sheet in any of the DGWs, there could be a double digit haul for Petrovic.

FPL GW35 Scout Picks – Defenders

Pedro Porro has a Double Gameweek vs Arsenal(H), Chelsea(A). Even with the difficult fixtures, Porro is basically an attacker- Clean sheets are just a bonus. Porro has taken the Most Shots(42) among Defenders this season and also has 8 FPL assists to his name. He is also Top for Expected Goal Involvement among Defenders this season as seen below.

Trent Alexander Arnold up against West Ham is the next pick. TAA is back to full fitness, started both the games in DGW34 and also got a goal. With Liverpool out of Europa league as well, Trent is not likely to be rested in the league. TAA has 3 goals, 5 assists from 21 starts this season and is ranked 3rd for xGI among Defenders despite just 21 starts. He is in-fact Top for xGI/90 among Defenders with an excellent 0.35 xGI/90.

Schar rounds up the Defender Picks. Newcastle Defense are slowly getting to from with 2 clean sheets from the last 3 games. Since GW29, Newcastle have the 4th least xGC and have conceded the 2nd least Big Chances conceded(10) among all teams during this time.

With a confirmed DGW37 for Newcastle, the entry point in GW35 against Sheffield United(H) looks too good to ignore.

FPL GW35 Scout Picks – Midfielders

Cole Palmer is the Top Midfield pick for GW35 and also takes up the arm-band in our FPL GW35 Scout team. Cole Palmer has been putting up a incredible numbers and Chelsea have been dependent on him to get the goals and results. He did miss GW34 vs Arsenal but Chelsea manager confirmed that Palmer trained and will be in squad for GW35.

Palmer Attack Rank among Midfielders since his full debut(GW7):

• Shots on Target- 1st
• Big Chances- 2nd
• xG- 2nd
• Goals- 1st
• xGI- 1st
• Goal Involvements- 1st
• FPL Points- 1st

Son has been slightly off the radar off late with just 1 goal, 1 assist from the last 4 matches. But with 2 Double Gameweeks in the next 3 GWs for Spurs, Son is a reliable pick who should perform well. Even though the fixtures are slightly tough, Son relishes playing these teams and has performed well against them.

Bruno Fernandes has been going on a streaky run with 7 goals, 1 assist from his last 6 matches. Manchester United have a confirmed Double Gameweek in GW37 vs Arsenal(H), Newcastle(H). With Bruno in excellent, the entry point in GW34 vs Burnley(H) looks really good.

• Shots- 23(3rd)
• Shots on Target- 13(2nd)
• Big Chances- 6(3rd)
• xG- 3.57(3rd)
• Chances created- 22(1st)
• Big Chances created- 5(3rd)
• xGI- 5.6(2nd)
• FPL Points- 63(2nd)

Foden is still fresh from his 2 goals and 16 point haul vs Brighton in GW34. In his last 2 starts in the league, Foden has 5 goals and 36 FPL Points. And over his last 6 league starts, Foden has 4 Digit Hauls- 8 goals, 4.8 xGI and 67 FPL points averaging more than 11 points/game.

Gordon rounds up the Scout Picks who has been a beast at home. In fact, in the entire league no more player has more FPL Goal Involvements(20) than Gordon. Gordon has 9 goals, 11 assists, 121 Points from 16 Home games this season averaging 7.56 points/game. Up against SHU at home who have conceded 92 goals from 34 games this season, Gordon would fancy his chances once again!

FPL GW35 Scout Picks – Forwards

Jackson leads the Forward line courtesy of a Double Gameweek. Jackson missed 2 Big Chances against Arsenal in GW34 and should have at least scored a goal. But the good thing is that, he is getting those chances and Villa and Tottenham are the kind of teams that Jackson would love to play.

Defense Stats of Chelsea’s DGW opponents:

• Aston Villa have the fourth worst record in the league for big chances conceded (95)
• Spurs have conceded 8 goals in their last 3 away matches.

Isak rounds up the GW35 Scout Selection as he has been the 2nd Highest scoring Forward in the game since GW27. Isak has 7 goals, 1 assist from 7 games during this time accumulating 53 points. He is also Top for xG(5.84) among Forwards since GW27. Home fixture against arguably the worst defensive side in the league, the gift is too tempting to ignore.

• Isak- 53
• Watkins- 47
• Muniz- 43
