Hey, I am Omar Mohamed, here to quickly analyze the captaincy picks for this week. In this FPL gameweek, the captaincy dilemma is different than other GW’s as only two teams play twice. Southampton and Leeds are teams we aren’t used to captaining players from. This makes the chances of a single GW captain paying off higher than the last GW where Man City played in. Let’s deep dive and look into the best double and single-game week captaincy options for FPL GW25.
FPL GW25 Best Captaincy options
Double gameweek captaincy options
1. Bamford vs WOL(A), SOU(H)
Bamford is expected to have the highest EO in the top 10k and overall due his high ownership and the fact that he will be heavily captained as Leeds have a DGW. He scored 12 and registered 8 FPL assists this FPL season registering 132 points, and he is also on penalties.

Looking at the stats I think Wolves will concede 1 goal ,2 if unlucky, while I expect Southampton to concede 3.

Reasons to choose Raphinha over Bamford
- Raphinha has registered nine more FPL points than Bamford in the last 5 GWs, which shows that the player hugely improved in that period, he’s also the third-highest scoring FPL asset since GW20.
- Raphinha is expected to still be under 10% owned after GW25 deadline ,the Brazilian is overlooked outside the Twitter community. His EO will be very low compared to Bamford. I expect his effective points to be multiplied by 1.6 at most in the top 10k if you captained while I reckon Bamford to be multiplied by around 0.6 in top 10k if you captained, a good try to increase the rank, however this will be useless if both scored same points and of course very harmful if Bamford scored higher.(those EO numbers are just an assumption from me based on Twitter and live ownership)
- Raphinha takes the set pieces and free-kicks currently which boosts his assists potential, however, Southampton and Wolves have good stats in shoots conceded from set-pieces and head chances conceded especially Wolves, Bamford is on pens they haven’t been awarded one since Burnley fixture at home, so I guess they are due one ,and that’s a great downside for the Raphinha captaincy.
- Raphinha looks to be more clinical since GW20 as he bettered his xG while Bamford underperformed it.

2. Danny Ings vs CHE(H), LEE(A)
The Southampton talisman is a great option for this DGW as everything Southampton does comes through him. Southampton don’t need to score a lot of goals for Ings to haul. His EO is expected to be low, the ownership on the FPL site is a false image as a lot of dead teams own him. The Saints form seems bad, but Ings looks to be picking himself up scoring 2 in the last 2 matches.

His numbers are pretty good quite impressive because of Southampton scrappy form. It’s almost comparable to the Leeds duo. Now with opposition stats part

I can say that Chelsea can concede maximum a goal while Leeds can concede 1 or 2 goals. I can see Ings getting a goal at least with some bonus and appearance points. Also, Ings is on pens and Leeds have conceded the most pens in the league(7) surely something to keep an eye on.

Best Single GW captaincy options for FPL GW25
Leeds have Wolves which isn’t a great fixture and Southampton has Chelsea with their great defensive stats since Tuchel came in, so going with a single GW captain can pay off for this DGW .
Mohamed Salah vs EVE(H)
The Egyptian promised Liverpool fans a comeback from that horrible form. What is a better way for Liverpool to get their form back than the Merseyside derby? Everton players will do their best to stop Liverpool, but on the other hand, Liverpool’s last win at home was against Spurs back in GW13 surely this can’t stay like that.

I can see Liverpool scoring 3 past Everton although it is a risk putting the fact that it is a derby into perspective as anything could happen.

Timo Werner vs SOU(A)
A lot of players had monstrous hauls against Southampton this season, Timo Werner was one of them he registered 16 points in the reverse fixture at home (the highest points scored that GW). Fast players benefit a lot from their Highline. Timo Werner has scored last GW ending his goal drought. Southampton’s current form makes him a really good differential captain choice, his ownership between active managers is surely too low. His minutes might be managed due to a very important game against Atletico Madrid that’s coming up.
