Welcome to FPL PAZ’s(Twitter, Do follow him) Transfer Targets and Watchlist, where I highlight the THREE best transfer targets in each position for FPL GW24 and beyond. The goal is to give managers a watchlist for both the immediate Gameweek and future Gameweeks. All picks are analyzed with stats, fixtures, and current form. LET’S GET INTO IT:

FPL GW24 Transfer Targets
Alfie Doughty LUT £4.5
Projected Points GW24-29: 19.5
Despite conceding 4 goals, Doughty still came away with 3 points thanks to his 7th assist of the season. Doughty has been magnificent this season, with 8 attacking returns to make up for his only 2 clean sheets. Doughty’s underlying stats are great, with a 0.19 xGI per 90 minutes, and he just seems so attacking on the eye test as well. Moving forward, Doughty has the 4th easiest fixture over the next 6 GWs including DGW25, but this does not include the potential DGW in GW28 as well(Palace(A), Bournemouth(A) if that happens).

- Most Assists(6) in the league since GW15
- Most FPL Points(47) among Defenders since GW15
All these numbers despite playing a game less and playing Arsenal, Man City, Chelsea, Brighton, Newcastle(Twice) during this run. DGW25 looks difficult on paper for Luton- Man United(H), Liverpool(A). But Doughty has proved that he is fixture proof and has got attacking returns in tough games.
Doughty is just a great high upside low risk as he is cheap enough to bench but has the potential of up to 2 DGWs in the next 5 GWs. With good underlying stats, and good fixtures, there is not much to dislike about Doughty for managers looking for a cheap defender.

Diogo Jota LIV £8.0
Projected Points GW24-29: 20.8
With a blank in GW23, Jota’s streak of 4 straight games with attacking returns was snapped. Jota remains one of the best options to bring in as his minutes continue to be great, and he has a Home fixture against Burnley before a DGW in GW25. Jota’s underlying stats are also great, with a 0.59 xGI per 90 minutes, and he has a massive ceiling, as shown by his 19-pointer 2 GWs ago.
Diogo Jota since Salah left for AFCON:
- GW21 vs Bournemouth- 2 goals, 1 assist
- EFL Cup semis vs Fulham- Blank(Played only 23 minutes)
- FA Cup 4th round vs Norwich- Goal
- GW22 vs Chelsea- Goal, Won a penalty(Darwin missed it)
- GW23 vs Arsenal- Blank
Liverpool does likely blank in GW29 to go along with a confirmed blank in GW26, so Jota is a short-term move but one that can massively shoot you up the ranks if it goes well.
It is important to note that Liverpool and Jota will be up against Burnley who are one of the worst defensive sides in the league- 2nd Highest for Goals conceded in the league with 47 goals conceded from 23 games.
Darwin Nunez LIV £7.4
Projected Points GW24-29: 24.7
Despite a benching in GW23 after his injury doubt, Darwin remains a great option to bring in ahead of a home fixture against Burnley before a DGW in GW25. Darwin is a chaos magnet, and he is just the type of player you need for a DGW with his massive ceiling. Darwin has a 0.95 xGI per 90 minutes, which is one of the best in the league. I know he can be frustrating with all the chances that he misses, but in FPL, you need to put yourself in a position to be lucky, and riding the variance wave with Darwin can be just the recipe you need.

- Matches- 5
- Shots- 25 (1st)
- Shots on Target- 14 (1st)
- Shots inside the Box- 17 (1st)
- Big Chances- 8 (1st)
- xG- 4.09 (1st)
- xGI- 5.5 (1st)
Please note that Darwin will likely blank in GW29 to go along with his confirmed blank in GW26. However, if you plan correctly, then you could buy him until GW26 and then remove him for other great forward options such as Solanke, Watkins, Etc.
