FPL Gameweek 20 Transfer Tips: Two Players to BUY
Christopher Nkunku (£7.4m) – FWD, Chelsea – 3.3% TSB
Nkunku’s performance in the Bundesliga was truly exceptional, marked by remarkable consistency over two years.
22/23 | 21/22 | |||
Appearances | Goal Involvements | Appearances | Goal Involvements | |
Bundesliga | 25 | 22 | 34 | 35 |
Overall | 36 | 32 | 52 | 55 |
His arrival in the Premier League carried high expectations, drawing parallels to another player from Germany who clinched the golden boot last year. Unfortunately, Nkunku faced an untimely injury that kept him sidelined until recently. In Gameweek 18, he made a significant impact coming off the bench, boosting his confidence by scoring a late goal for Chelsea.
His return aligns perfectly with a favorable fixture schedule for Chelsea.
While I considered recommending Nkunku in Gameweek 19, uncertainties lingered about his playing time—whether the manager would start him immediately or gradually ease him into action. Gameweek 19 saw him earn a starting spot in a Premier League game for Chelsea, and given the team’s goal-scoring needs, it appears he is likely to feature prominently from Gameweek 20 onward.
Considering this, it’s advisable to act swiftly and include Nkunku in your team.

Bernardo Silva (£6.4m) – MID, Man City – 3.5% TSB
In a highly anticipated matchup, the current champions are set to host the bottom-ranked team, making for an extremely enticing fixture.
Bernardo Silva, who has been somewhat overlooked recently, has quietly emerged as a top performer in midfielders since Gameweek 10. Only Salah and Kudus have accumulated more Fantasy Premier League (FPL) points than Bernardo during this period.
Sheffield United is dismal as a defensive unit. They are ranked:-
- 19th for Big Chances conceded
- 19th for xG conceded
- 19th for xGNP conceded
- 19th for Shots in the Box conceded
- 19th for Clean Sheets
- 20th for Shots conceded
- 20th for Shots on Target conceded
- 20th for xG on Target conceded
- 20th for Goals conceded
Bernardo has become a key figure in Pep Guardiola’s lineup with an impressive streak of 11 consecutive starts. With Doku, Haaland, and KDB showing no signs of returning in Gameweek 20, Bernardo Silva appears poised to be the standout player to secure valuable FPL points in the upcoming fixture.

Mohamed Salah (£13.3m) – MID, Liverpool – 55.2% TSB
Concerns have arisen among Salah owners due to his two blanks in the last three games and three blanks in the last five games. However, a closer examination of the underlying statistics reveals that Salah has been rather unlucky. Over the last five gameweeks, Salah holds the top spot for expected goal involvement (xGI).
Looking ahead to GW20, Salah is set to face Newcastle at Anfield. Notably, no other player has accumulated more Fantasy Premier League (FPL) points than Salah when playing at home. In contrast, Newcastle has suffered four losses in their last five Premier League games, with only Nottingham Forest conceding more goals than the Magpies during this period.
Considering these factors, it appears advisable to retain Salah in your FPL squad.

Ollie Watkins (£8.8m) – FWD, Aston Villa – 51.6% TSB
Owners of Watkins may be feeling concerned with just one return in the last five games. However, it’s crucial to consider the quality of opposition faced during this period, including matches against Manchester City, Arsenal and Manchester United. Despite the challenging fixtures, Watkins has maintained an impressive performance, ranking 1st among forwards for both
- Shots
- Shots inside the box
The challenging phase is now behind Aston Villa, and Watkins is poised for a favourable run of fixtures in the long term.
Given his consistently high statistical rankings and the improved fixture schedule, it is advisable for fantasy football managers to hold onto Watkins if he is part of their team.

FPL Gameweek 20 Transfer Tips: Two Players to SELL
Kieran Trippier (£6.9m) – DEF, Newcastle – 42.4% TSB
Experiencing four defeats in their last five league games, Newcastle’s defense is currently grappling with a challenging period, having conceded 11 goals during this stretch—marking the second-worst defensive record in the league.
In the midst of these struggles, Trippier has yielded only a total of 3 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) points in the last five games. Notably, he has managed just one return in the past eight Gameweeks and two in the last ten Gameweeks.
With upcoming fixtures against formidable opponents like Liverpool, Manchester City, and Aston Villa, the road ahead for Newcastle doesn’t promise any respite. Considering this challenging run, it might be prudent to consider selling Trippier and potentially reconsidering his inclusion in your squad come Gameweek 23.

Konstantinos Tsimikas (£4.8m) – DEF, Liverpool – 6.3% TSB
He was indeed the messiah.
Priced at a modest £4.4m in Gameweek 9, he rose to become the fourth-highest-scoring defender up to Gameweek 17, trailing only TAA, Mykolenko, and VVD. Unfortunately, he is now sidelined due to a seemingly long-term injury.
Given the abundance of defenders available at a similar price point, it would be wise to acknowledge and express gratitude to the Greek maestro for significantly enhancing our season, and perhaps it’s time to bid him farewell.
