FPL GW14 Scout Picks
FPL GW14 Scout Picks – Goalkeeper
Flekken is our goalkeeper in the scout picks this week. Brentford are up against Luton at home and have the joint second-highest odds of a clean sheet this week(48%) only behind Arsenal(55%). Luton have scored only six goals in seven away games this season which is the joint 3rd lowest in the league. There’s a high chance that Flekken bags a clean sheet in FPL GW14.
FPL GW14 Scout Picks – Defenders
Brentford are 8th for the lowest goals conceded(18) and xGC(18.20) so far this season in spite of playing a lot of tough games already.
Player | Price | Shots Inside Box | Big Chances | xG | G |
Matty Cash | £5.1 | 17 | 5 | 3.52 | 2 |
Pau Torres | £4.6 | 6 | 4 | 0.84 | 2 |
Ethan Pinnock | £4.6 | 9 | 4 | 1.28 | 1 |
Nayef Aguerd | £4.5 | 8 | 3 | 0.87 | 1 |
Tom Lockyer | £4.3 | 7 | 3 | 0.99 | 1 |
Pinnock is joint 2nd for big chances(4) amongst defenders so far this season only behind Matty Cash. He’s also known for his aerial threat, having scored a headed goal already this season. Luton meanwhile are 3rd for headed goal attempts conceded(42), 3rd for goal attempts from set plays conceded(63) and highest for set play expected goals conceded(5.6, Set pay xGC) amongst all teams so far this season making it a great matchup for Pinnock.
The Gunners have conceded only 10 goals in 13 games(The lowest in the league). Their xGC of 10.66 is also the lowest in the league so far this season. Arsenal also have the highest odds of a clean sheet this week(55%) against Wolves who’ll be without two key midfielders, Joao Gomes and Lemina due to suspension. Saliba is a no-brainer option for GW13 and beyond.
Tsimikas wraps up the defensive picks in our scout picks this week. Liverpool are up against Fulham at home in GW14, Fulham are a poor away from home scoring only 6 goals(3rd lowest in the league) in seven away games from an xG of 7.17 which is the 4th lowest in the league in away games.
Liverpool also have the joint second-highest odds of a clean sheet this week(48%) and Tsimikas also offers a good assist potential as well.

FPL GW14 Scout Picks – Midfielders
Mo Salah is Top the midfield pick for GW14 with a juicy fixture vs Fulham at Anfield. He has 10 goals, 5 assists, and 106 points from 13 games averaging 8.15 points/game. Salah(12.57) tops the xGI chart among Midfielders as well. He is also only behind Haaland(14.38) for xGI among all players. Salah’s 14 Big Chances is 2nd overall(only behind Haaland) and 11 Big Chances created is Top Among all players.
Fulham meanwhile are defensively poor away from home, conceding 22 big chances and an xGC of 14.55 in seven away games which is the 2nd highest in the League. He is our captain choice as well this week, Watch out for our Captaincy Metrics(which should be up soon) before locking in your captain.
Mbeumo is top for NPxGI(9.60) amongst midfielders so far this season which shows that he’s not just a penalty merchant. He’s up against Luton Town who are 2nd for most xGC(26.80) conceded and joint 4th for most goals(23) conceded so far this season.
The record in away games is even worse for Luton, their 32 big chances conceded and 17.55 xGC is comfortably the highest in the league. Meanwhile, Mbeumo is 2nd for big chances(12) amongst midfielders, only behind Mo Salah so far this season(14).
Saka has been silent in the league for a while but crucially he’s not blanking, in fact, he has blanked only in two games this season. He is up against Wolves at home who will be travelling without Gomes & Lemina in midfield due to suspension.
Saka also has a great record at the Emirates having not blanked at home so far this season. Also, only Salah & Mbeumo have a better home xGI than Saka. Arsenal are picking up attacking form and scored six goals in the Champions League game against Lens with Saka scoring and assisting as well!
Kudus in the absence of Bowen emerged as the star for the Hammers, assisting both the goals in the 2-1 comeback win over Burnley in GW13. He’ll be up against Palace who’ll be without Cheick Doucoure who has suffered a long-term injury against Luton in GW13 and will be a big miss for the Eagles in midfield.
Note: Kudus has not travelled to the midweek Europa league due to illness. So have an eye on the Latest Press Conference Updates before getting him in.
Heung Min Son registered back-to-back double-digit hauls in GW9 and GW10 but has since blanked in three straight games. However, he has been unlucky not to have scored and we all know that he’s an elite finisher. We fully back him to be back amgonst the goals even though Spurs and Son are upagainst Man City(A) in GW14.
Spurs and Son also have a good record vs Man City, In the last seven games between the two teams Spurs have won five games with Son scoring three goals and picking up two assists.

FPL GW14 Scout Picks – Forwards
Darwin has started the last four league games and seems to have become a regular starter now, the injury to Jota means Darwin could have an extended run in the starting 11 over the festive period. Darwin has the same number of big chances(14) as Salah who has played 450 minutes more than Darwin.
Salah and Darwin also have an excellent chemistry between them having created 29 chances between each other in the league this season. Diaby and Watkins are the next duo with 18 chances created between them.
Fulham also conceded more chances through the center where Darwin operates, they have conceded 39 chances through the middle, which is higher than their chances conceded in the left flank(35) and right flank(33).
Haaland has proved his doubters wrong with two 16-point hauls in the last four Gameweeks coming against Manchester United and Chelsea. He was also on the scoresheet against Liverpool so scoring in a big game should not be difficult for him. Haaland has 14 goals, and 3 assists from 13 games this season and comfortably tops all the underlying data like xG, Big Chances, and Shots inside the box. His presence in the scout picks needs no further justification!
