FPL GW10 Tips – Key Questions/Dilemmas Answered
1) How do you structure your Wildcard in GW10?
Wildcarding in GW10 is a great way to sort out your team and take advantage of some good fixture swings. You can go aggressive by getting players from teams like Arsenal, Aston Villa, Brighton and Crystal Palace having excellent games in the upcoming gameweeks.
Try to get the cheapest goalkeeper combination, as they have limited points potential. You can get the Turner + Areola combination if you are looking for two affordable playing goalkeeper picks.
Even for a defender like Trippier, there are alternatives like Schar and Burn from the Newcastle defence. Though having a Newcastle defender is by no means necessary. You can get Aston Villa’s Matty Cash for the short term. He has a good fixture run till GW14.
In terms of other picks, you can get Kostas Tsimikas from Liverpool. Though Liverpool hasn’t kept many clean sheets this season, Tsimikas is excellent going forward and does have good attacking potential. At £4.5m, I’d take a bet on him. If you want to look elsewhere, you can look at Marc Guéhi from Crystal Palace. The team has kept 3 clean sheets in the last 4 games and is a decent defence overall.
In midfield, Son and Maddison are outstanding holds. Both players have looked in good touch, getting 16 attacking returns combined (80% of Tottenham’s goals in the league). For me, the other must-have player on Wildcard would be Mohamed Salah. He has 4 double-digit hauls in his last 5 games. Bukayo Saka is another pick I like and is a great attacker to own if the budget is available.
The other preferred picks in midfield will be going for slightly cheaper players like Mitoma or Diaby or even looking at enabler picks like Neto, Gordon or even Palmer from Chelsea, especially when you are looking to go super cheap for your 5th midfielder.
Looking at forwards, Haaland is pretty much a lock, and you can double down on the Man City advantage with Julián Álvarez. He is still only priced £7.1m in the game right now, which is excellent value.
If you don’t want to go with Alvarez, you can look at Ollie Watkins from Aston Villa. He is a nailed starter and is expected to be a key figure in the Villa attack. With good fixtures coming up, there is a lot to gain with Watkins and he is a solid option among forwards.
Suppose you are looking to play 3 up top. In that case, there is also a scenario where you can have Alvarez and Watkins alongside Haaland.
2) Is it worth getting Arsenal players right now?
Arsenal is one of the only two teams that is unbeaten in the league right now. They only have the 7th best attack in the league for goals scored and aren’t getting those big scorelines. The defence has done okay, and looking at the upcoming fixtures, you can target getting at least one defender.
Ben White (£5.6m) and William Saliba (£5.2m) are a bit higher in price. Oleksandr Zinchenko may not be completely nailed. The pick that stands out to me is Gabriel at £4.7m. He looks nailed in the Arsenal backline and can provide some attacking threat from set-pieces. I’d go for him.
Coming to the attack in general, Bukayo Saka is the standout pick among midfielders. His attacking numbers are pretty good. He is 3rd for xGI among all MIDs for the season. He also ranks 1st for points among all Arsenal attackers. I’d find a way to get him in. The other pick that can help you gain rank is Gabriel Martinelli. He is expected to play more minutes in the coming games. Still, with Trossard also available, there can be some rotation.
Arsenal forward Gabriel Jesus picked up an injury in the mid-week CL game against Sevilla and may be out at least in the short-term. Keep an eye on his fitness update, as he can become a significant differential forward for the coming games.

3) Who are the best budget enablers to buy?
Finding the right budget enablers is becoming increasingly important, especially when FPL managers try to fit in many good premium picks.
Suppose you are looking for value in defence. In that case, you can go for a goalkeeper combination of Turner and Areola, as it’s one of the cheapest player combinations in goal. Tsimikas from Liverpool is a great budget pick in defence. You can even look at one of the Crystal Palace defenders (Marc Guéhi) having good fixtures till GW15.
If you want even more budget, look at Charlie Taylor from Burnley. There may not be a lot of potential for points here, but he is only £3.9m and can help you save some money. Jamaal Lascelles from Newcastle is another great shout, but it may be short-term. Lascelles’s minutes depend on Botman’s return, as the latter is expected to start ahead of Lascelles.
If you are going premium-heavy in midfield, you may have to go with a cheap 5th midfielder. We have players like Pedro Neto (£5.8m) from Wolves and Anthony Gordon (£5.6m) from Newcastle. Out of two, I prefer Gordon, who looks to have a higher ceiling playing for a strong attacking team.
If you can’t afford both, you can look at enablers like Cole Palmer or Simon Adingra. Chelsea’s Palmer has slightly more challenging games but has started the last 3 games for the Blues.
If you are looking for better fixtures and can go aggressive, consider Adingra from Brighton. He may not be as nailed as Palmer, but he can be of great value till GW13. In case you can’t stretch to £5m, you can buy Souček, who looks like a regular starter for West Ham.
Coming to forwards, Julián Álvarez from Man City is still one of the best budget strikers out there. He is a little more pricey (£7.1m) than your average enabler but is still a great shout. I believe Álvarez is nailed in the Man City lineup and their 2nd best attacker after Haaland.

4) What are the best double/triple-up team combinations to consider?
Double/Triple-ups are always a great way to differentiate from the crowd and double down on any potential advantage in FPL.
Whether Wildcarding this week or not, I would try to get 3 players each from Aston Villa. They are flying high in the league, and it’s the right time to attack with their players. Cash, Diaby and Watkins are great picks from Villa.
Tottenham is another team where you can triple up. Still, they have a couple of tricky games, especially from a defensive point of view. For Spurs, the ideal triple-up is Porro, Maddison and Son. If you want to go for attackers, then Son + Maddison looks solid.
Arsenal has some good games coming up, and you can bet on at least a couple of players from the Gunners. Gabriel + Saka looks ideal. If you want to go all out, doubling up on their midfield with Martinelli can work well, too.
Liverpool is another team worth investing in at the moment. Salah is a ‘must-have’; you can attack more with a budget Tsimikas. Darwin Nunez is the other option to consider if you don’t want to go for Tsimikas and want to double down on their attack instead.
Man City’s double-up in attack is still looking good. The Haaland + Alvarez combo is excellent value, as most goals come from both. With Alvarez, there is always that slight risk of rotation. Still, Man City is an elite attack, and they will do well, irrespective of the fixtures.
Despite having slightly trickier fixtures, you can double up on Newcastle. One of the Newcastle defenders, along with Gordon, still seems okay. If you want to be aggressive, you can even punt on Callum Wilson, who is expected to start in the Newcastle attack.

This can make or break your rank every week. Most FPL managers are struggling to understand which premium-ish players to buy/sell/hold.
Starting with defenders, Kieran Trippier is a tricky one here. He has 46 points in the last 4 games, getting 6 attacking returns and 3 clean sheets in total. There are a couple of issues with him as an FPL pick. The upcoming fixtures are a bit tricky, and him being £7m may block you from going for other more aggressive moves. If selling him can allow you to get players like Salah or even Son, I’d consider the risk of taking him out.
Coming to midfielders, I can make a case to hold all Salah, Son and Saka. Salah is my pick of the lot, though. I’d recommend selling the likes of Rashford/Bruno or even Saka if that helps you upgrade to a Mohamed Salah. For me, he is a must-have right now. He has been playing well, and there is merit in jumping onto him right away.
Bukayo Saka is a great pick in isolation, but I do prefer Son over him. Saka vs Maddison is a bit tough, and despite the latter doing really well for Spurs, I’d go with Saka. Man Utd pair of Rashford/Bruno Fernandes are worth selling this week. They are up against Man City, and it will not be easy.
Though not super premium in price, I would sell players like Odegaard, Sterling and even Foden. Better alternatives are available right now, and letting these players go is okay. It’s a great idea to double up on the Liverpool attack if you want to play aggressively. I prefer Luis Diaz over Jota because of his higher minutes potential.
Haaland is the only premium forward in the game and still an excellent player. Ollie Watkins from Aston Villa is the next premium-ish forward, and he is a great pick to own if you can afford him. I prefer him over Nunez or Alvarez, as he is in great form, getting 9 attacking returns in his last 4 matches.
That will be all from my side for this week! All the best for FPL Gameweek 10, and I will see you all next week.
