2023/24 Season FPL Rotational Pairs & Combinations
Johnstone(4.5) and Turner(4.0)- Till GW15
Turner has signed for Nottingham Forest from Arsenal few days back which makes him a starting 4.0 million keeper at the moment. He is the first choice keeper for Forest right now, but it is to be noted that Forest are still trying to sign Dean Henderson and then there could be competition. There are high chances that Turner could keep his place even after the signing of Henderson as Henderson has not recovered from his injury.
Turner rotates really with Palace Keeper Johnstone. Even with the slight risk of Turner losing his spot, this looks like a good rotation as Johnstone covers most games. There are slight chances that Henderson becomes fit, signs and becomes first choice- But as there are no nailed 4.0 million keepers right now, there is nothing to lose.
If you rotate Johnstone and Turner correctly till GW15, you will have-
- 0/15 games against Last season’s Top 6
- 4/15 games against Last season’s 7-12th placed teams
- 11/15 games against Last season’s 13-16th placed teams and Newly Promoted sides.
This is a good rotation especially if you are planning to Wildcard around GW9 for the fixture swing.
Pickford(4.5) and Turner(4.0)- Till GW18
If you rotate Pickford and Turner correctly till GW18, you will have-
- 1/18 games against Last season’s Top 6
- 4/18 games against Last season’s 7-12th placed teams
- 13/18 games against Last season’s 13-16th placed teams and Newly Promoted sides.

Botman(£4.5) and Mings/Cash/Torres(£4.5)- Till GW18
This should be the best 4.5 million FPL Defender Rotation for the 2023/24 FPL season. Newcastle conceded the fewest goals in the league last season and a nailed starter in Botman at just 4.5 million is a great bargain. Villa are also a better defensive side overall and this rotation is perfect!
If you rotate Botman and Mings correctly till GW18, you will have-
- 1/18 games against Last season’s Top 6
- 3/18 games against Last season’s 7-10th placed teams
- 14/18 games against Last season’s 11-16th placed teams and Newly Promoted sides.
Note: Villa have signed Pau Torres(£4.5) as well. It is still tricky to confirm who will be the nailed 4.5 defender with Emery experimenting everything in pre-season. Right now, Cash looks to be the most exciting as he was really attacking in pre-season.
Cash/Mings/Torres(£4.5) and Andersen(£4.5)- Till GW15
Villa and Palace rotate really well till GW15 having just 3/15 games against Last season’s Top 12 teams. Watch out for the most nailed 4.5 million defender during pre-season as mentioned above.
If you rotate Andersen and Villa Defender correctly till GW15, you will have-
- 1/15 games against Last season’s Top 6
- 2/15 games against Last season’s 7-12th placed teams
- 12/15 games against Last season’s 13-16th placed teams and Newly Promoted sides.
Botman/Burn(£4.5) and Henry(£4.5)(Till GW18)
This is one of the rotation that consists of proven players from last season. Both players nailed on for minutes and playing for good defenses. This rotation is safe and solid and it does not involve games against Last season Top 6 teams at all.
If you rotate Botman and Henry correctly till GW18(based on above rotation), you will have-
- 0/18 games against Last season’s Top 6
- 3/18 games against Last season’s 7-10th placed teams
- 15/18 games against Last season’s 11-16th placed teams and Newly Promoted sides.

Henry(£4.5) and Zouma(£4.5) OR Fabianski(£4.5)/Areola(£4.0) and Flekken(£4.5)[Till GW7]
If you want to looking for a short-term rotation combination in case you are planning a early wildcard, this one is worth trying out. Also Have an eye on the keeper situation at West Ham. Areola(4.0) could dispossess Fabianski(4.5) as the first choice keeper. This could mean two starting goalkeepers with a decent rotation at just £8.5 million.
If you rotate Zouma and Henry correctly till GW7(based on above rotation), you will have-
- 1/7 games against Last season’s Top 6
- 1/7 games against Last season’s 7-10th placed teams
- 5/7 games against Last season’s 11-16th placed teams and Newly Promoted sides.
Leno(£4.5) and Muric(£4.5) OR Ream(£4.5) and Beyer(£4.0)- till GW18
Fulham exceeded expectations last season finishing in the Top Half of the table and also kept 9 clean sheets. Burnley are coming into Premier League as the Best Defensive side in the Championship- Least Goals Conceded, Most Clean Sheets, Least Shots Conceded, and Best xGC.
If you rotate them correctly as mentioned above, You will not face any of the Last season’s Top 6 at all in the first half of the season. You will have-
- 0/18 games against Last season’s Top 6
- 5/18 games against Last season’s 7-10th placed teams
- 13/18 games against Last season’s 11-16th placed teams and Newly Promoted sides.
Perhaps Rather than a defender’s rotation, it does make sense to rotate them at Goal Keepers with both keepers likely to get save points. Leno made 144 saves during the 2022/23 season which was the second highest among all the Goalkeepers only behind Raya(154 saves).
Saves Per 90 minutes among Goalkeeper last season:
- Raya- 4.05
- Leno– 4.00
- Neto- 3.77
- Pickford- 3.35
- Lloris- 3.22
Muric(£4.5) is the first choice keeper at the moment, But Burnley are in the market for a new goal keeper. Watchout!
Henry(£4.5) and Andersen(£4.5)- till GW15
If you rotate Brentford and Palace defenders correctly till GW15, you will have-
- 0/15 games against Last season’s Top 6
- 2/15 games against Last season’s 7-10th placed teams
- 13/15 games against Last season’s 11-16th placed teams and Newly Promoted sides.
Palace Defenders are priced at 4.5 million. Brentford assets even after an exceptional season are prized at £4.5 million with the exception of Mee(£5.0). This rotational pairing is the one to watch out for.

Tarkowski(£4.5) and Kabore(£4.0)[Till GW9]
If you are looking for ultra-cheap short-term defender rotation to go heavy in attack or accommodate three premiums, this is a good rotation combination.
If you rotate Everton and Luton Town defenders correctly till GW9, you will have-
- 0/9 games against Last season’s Top 6
- 3/9 games against Last season’s 7-10th placed teams
- 6/9 games against Last season’s 11-16th placed teams and Newly Promoted sides.
Zouma(£4.5)/Emerson(£4.5) and Mings/Torres/Cash(£4.5)[Till GW14]
Going with this rotation means that you won’t face any of the Last season’s Top 10 Teams will GW14. With Cash/Torres/Mings and Zouma/Emerson/Aguerd coming in for a combined prize of 9.0 million. Maybe Moreno(£5.0) is also a good option as it is worth spending the money with good chances of attacking returns.
If you rotate West Ham and Aston Villa defenders correctly till GW14, you will have-
- 0/14 games against Last season’s Top 6
- 0/14 games against Last season’s 7-10th placed teams
- 14/14 games against Last season’s 11-16th placed teams and Newly Promoted sides.
