All Premier League Teams Predicted GW28 Lineups

Arsenal

Arsenal cruised past Fulham at Craven Cottage last weekend winning 3-0 scoring all three goals in the first half. Leandro Trossard assisted all three goals and became the first player to assist 3 times in the first half since Santi Cazorla. The Gunners are now unbeaten in their last 5 games.

Although Odegaard received a yellow card, no players were suspended or injured for Arsenal. Trossard was set to miss last week but recovered quickly to make the starting XI. Gabriel Jesus made an appearance in the second half after missing 3 months of action with a knee injury. Having just come off from a lengthy break, a start in GW28 might be too early for Jesus.

Jesus then started and played the 1st half in the Europa League defeat against Sporting in a game that went to ET and then penalties. Arsenal had a few injury issues during the game with Tomiyasu and Saliba being subbed off due to injuries. Post-match it was confirmed that Tomiyasu was seen on Crutches. Arteta mentioned in the post-match press conference that Tomiyasu’s injury “looks pretty serious” while Saliba will be assessed after some “discomfort”.

Odegaard(came on as sub at 100′), Saka(came on as a sub at 66′) were rested for Europa league game and should be nailed for GW28. Martinelli played the full 120 minutes but with other injury/fitness concerns, he should start again. Two games in 3 days will be tough for Jesus and with Nketiah missing as well, Trossard should start this weekend against Palace!

Arsenal GW28 Predicted Formation:

  • 4-3-3

Arsenal PC/Injury Updates:

Quotes from Arteta after the Europa league defeat via Arsenal website

On Saliba and Tomiyasu injuries:

Tomiyasu looks pretty serious, for his reaction straight away and what he said to me. Obviously, it’s very early and difficult to know. William, I don’t know. He had some discomfort and could not carry on, so we had to take him off.

When asked if Jesus substitution was planned:

Yeah, and we decided to do that because we had to manage the subs and thank God that we took him out, especially after the two windows that we had to use in the first half, but that was the plan and he was coming from an injury as well. We knew the game could go to extra time and we have to manage that and he looked okay.

On How Martinelli will react after the shootout miss:

He will react well. He’s obviously disappointed today, we all are, when you take those decisions that possibility is always there. He will learn from it, like Bukayo did in the past and move on.

Aston Villa

Aston Villa was held 1-1 away from home by West Ham at the London Stadium. Ollie Watkins scored the only goal for Villa in the first half to make it 6 goals from last 7 games for him.

No injuries or suspensions were picked up by the Villa players in the match. Coutinho, Dendoncker and Kamara are still ruled out due to injuries.

Emery on Watkins Substitution:

No, he’s not injured. We have to push and help with Jhon Duran to add impact. I have to use the players in 90 minutes, trying to give them the possibility to help us. That is the reason.

Bournemouth

The Cherries although in the relegation zone would feel on top of the world at the moment after beating Liverpool 1-0 at home. Philip Billing scored the only goal for Bournemouth in the first half.

Billing and Anthony were shown yellow cards but no injuries or suspensions were picked up by the Cherries.

On Traore:

Junior Traorè is back and has trained for part of the week – he’s looking good.

On Tavernier:

Marcus Tavernier isn’t quite back yet, but I expect him to be back for the next one.

On Zabarnyi:

Illia Zabarnyi is the same. It’s really good news that we don’t have anywhere near the amount of injuries that what we had before.

On Brooks:

Everyone is also delighted for David Brooks and his family. He’s itching, but he’s sensibly itching. He knows there’s things to do, but he’ll be involved again tomorrow.

Brentford

The Bees faced their first defeat in the league since October after losing 1-0 at Goodison Park to relegation zone side, Everton. This defeat means Brentford at now 9th in the table only one point clear on either side.

Norgaard picked up a yellow card in the match but no other injuries or suspensions were picked up.

Brentford PC/Injury Updates:

Thomas Frank’s press conference updates ahead of their match against Leicester City (via brentfordfc.com).

On Janelt:

We still need assessment for Vitaly Janelt, who we had to sub off. The thing we can say is that he won’t be available for Saturday, but we need more to see what the injury is.

On Ajer:

Kris Ajer, the calf injury will also make him unavailable for the squad on Saturday.

On Roerslev:

Mads Roerslev will still be assessed because he is touch-and-go for the weekend.

An overall team update:

The rest are all available.

Chelsea

Chelsea has managed to thread back-to-back wins after a 3-1 win at King Power Stadium over Leicester City. Chilwell, Havertz and Kovacic scored for the Blues. Chelsea is now 10th in the table, five points behind the top six. Felix was subbed off at half time(Tactical substitution).

Fofana and Cucurella picked up yellow cards en route to the victory but no player was suspended or injured for the Blues. Mendy, James were spotted in training on Tuesday. Mason Mount and Raheem Sterling are also ruled out for GW28. Silva and Azpi are also still out.

Havertz on his role in 3-4-3 formation:

I like this position, it is quite a free role and I’m allowed to come deeper. “Having said that, I also like to play as a number nine so having those options is good with the system we are playing at the moment, it’s very fluid. “It means I can be free especially offensively and I can find spaces to play from.

Chelsea GW28 Predicted Formation:

  • 3-4-3

Chelsea GW28 Predicted Lineup:

Chelsea PC/Injury Updates:

Graham Potter’s press conference updates ahead of their match against Everton (via Football London).

On team news:

Raheem has a problem with his hamstring. It’s not too serious but he’ll miss the game at the weekend and the international trip. It’s the same with Mason. He’ll miss the England camp as well. Thiago and Azpi are out. N’Golo Kante has a chance of being back in the squad.

More on N’Golo Kante:

Managers before me have spoken highly of N’Golo because he’s a top player. He’s been a huge miss to us. It’s great for us he is back and we have to be mindful he has a long injury. We have to take the steps to get him up to speed in the Premier League.

Crystal Palace

The Eagles were defeated 1-0 at home by the defending champions, Manchester City. Crystal Palace has now faced back-to-back defeats in the league with no wins in their last five games and just three points clear of the relegation zone.

Milivojevic and Andersen picked up yellow cards in the match but no other players were suspended or injured for Crystal Palace.

Note: 4.0 million keeper Whitworth started the 2nd game of GW27 Double vs Brighton due to a hamstring issue for Guaita. Palace did not have a Press Conference today due to Vieira’s sacking and we don’t have much info about the extent of Guaita’s injury.

Crystal Palace GW28 Predicted Formation:

Crystal Palace PC/Injury Updates:

Press Conference did not happen today due to Vieira’s sacking.

Everton

Everton managed to pull off a 1-0 win at home against Brentford. McNeil scored the only goal in the very first minute of the game. The Toffees now have two wins in their last five games. This win means that Everton is now clear of the relegation zone by just one point.

Coleman and Doucoure were shown yellow cards in the match but no other Everton player was injured or suspended.

Sean Dyche’s press conference updates ahead of their match against Chelsea (via evertonfc.com).

On Calvert-Lewin:

We’re still trying to monitor the situation. We’re being careful. He’s being careful with his body. Trying to give him every opportunity. Was not overly in my thinking for the Chelsea game regardless of anything else because obviously when the international break comes, we can use it even more wisely.

Leeds United

Leeds had to come back from one goal down twice in the game to salvage a 2-2 draw at home against Brighton. Bamford and Harrison were the goalscorers for Leeds. Having lost thrice in their last five games, Leeds finds themselves in the relegation zone at 19th.

Firpo picked up a yellow card in the match but no other players were injured or suspended for Leeds.

Leeds United GW28 Predicted Lineup:

Leeds United PC/Injury Updates:

Javi Gracia’s press conference updates ahead of their match against Wolves (via leeds-live.co.uk).

On Patrick Bamford and Rodrigo Moreno:

It’s something I have to speak with the doctor tomorrow (whether they can play 90 minutes). They are improving, but I cannot tell you exactly.

On Tyler Adams:

As you say, Tyler is injured. In this moment, he’s with a specialist and we will see how long he is out of the team. We have other players. All of us know Tyler is a key player for us but we have to manage with the squad we have. We have all the players ready for the next game.

Update on Stuart Dallas’ progress:

When I arrived, there were players like Stuart out of the team. They are working to recover but they are working out of the team (setup). Of course, I want all of them ready as soon as possible but, in this case, I’m not sure the time needed for them to be back in the team.

On Liam Cooper:

Liam has been out of the team for some time, now he is with the team. He can do many things on the pitch but he is very important out of the pitch. His personality can help us. He’s ready.

Leicester City

Fourth loss in a row for Leicester City after losing 3-1 at home against Chelsea. Daka scored the only goal for the Foxes in the first half.

Wout Faes was sent off toward the end of the game after he picked up his second yellow card for the match and will miss the next match against Brentford. It will be Amartey filling in for Faes. Daka who scored a brilliant goal vs Chelsea is likely to be preferred again. Leicester lined up with a back 3 last game vs Chelsea but they are expected to return to a back four vs Brentford. It will be a close call between Ihenacho and Tete with both players in ordinary form in the recent weeks.

Ward has been poor in recent weeks and there are rumours that Iversen is to be given the nod in GW28.

Leicester City GW28 Predicted Formation:

  • 4-2-3-1

Leicester City GW28 Predicted Lineup:

Leicester City PC/Injury Updates:

Brendan Rodgers’ press conference update ahead of their match against Brentford (via lcfc.com).

On Kristiansen:

Victor maybe won’t make it. We’re hoping he might be close but he might miss this one.

On Jonny Evans:

We’ll have to see, there’s a doubt around him. Hopefully [he’ll be okay] for the weekend, if not, hopefully not too long after that.

On the rest of the squad:

Apart from that, everyone has trained and trained well and those who were available for previous games are okay.

Newcastle United

Newcastle has picked up three important points after a 2-1 win at home against Wolves. Isak and Almiron were the goalscorers for the Magpies.

Isak picked up a yellow card in the match. Joelinton is set to miss one more match serving his suspension. No other injuries or suspensions in the Newcastle camp.

Howe on Isak’s fitness and minutes:

He’s very, very fit. He’s got a little bit more to go to be 90-minute fit for us but that’s because we demand so much from our players. That’s no slight on him at all.

There is an interesting case with respect to Schar‘s fitness. He has not been called up by Switzerland team for the International break as it was mentioned that he will treated at Newcastle for a “recurring foot problem”. But he was pictured in training yesterday and Howe did not mention anything in particular about Schar.

Newcastle United GW28 Predicted Formation:

Newcastle United GW28 Predicted Lineup:

Newcastle United PC/Injury Update:

Eddie Howe’s press conference updates ahead of their match against Nottingham Forest (via nufc.co.uk).

On injuries in the camp:

Similar to last week – we’ve got a couple of knocks. (It was an) intense game last week, really intense physically, so we’ve been managing and nursing a few players. We’ll wait and see who’s fit. Nothing major, hopefully. A few players have missed training this week but we hope to have the majority of players available.

On Anthony Gordon:

He feels good but he’s got work to do.

On Isak

“Before he got the concussion he was in really good form in training. I thought he was outstanding [against Wolves] in every respect. Physically and technically he was very good. Hopefully that’s the start of a really good run for him.”

Nottingham Forest

Forest faced a 3-1 defeat away from home against Tottenham Hotspur. This result now means that Forest has failed to register a win in their last five league games.

Nottingham Forest GW28 Predicted Lineup:

Nottingham Forest Injury News/PC Updates:

Steve Cooper’s press conference updates ahead of their match against Newcastle (via nottinghamforest.co.uk).

On Johnson:

He had his scan. It’s unlikely that he will be involved at the weekend but he has a small chance. We’re not completely ruling him out, but when you walk off with a muscle injury it can take a bit longer than a week to recover.

On Moussa and Yatesy:

Moussa is back in training, Yatesy has been coming on and has been giving us as much as he has been permitted to. They’re getting stronger as weeks go by, but whether they’re ready for starts, I’m not too sure.

On Wood:

Steve Cooper confirmed that Chris Wood will be missing the match this weekend due to the injury he picked up against Spurs last week.

On Kouyate:

The Senegal international is back in training and is closing in on a return.

Wolves faced defeat at St. James’ Park losing 2-1 to Newcastle. This means that Wolves have only one win in their last five league games and find themselves in the 13th position just three points clear of the relegation zone. Hwang is ruled for GW28 due to an injury. Lopetegui also confirmed that Sarabia and Cunha are both “ok” when questions around their fitness was raised.

Wolves PC/Injury Updates:

Quotes from Lopetegui via Wolves website

On Hwang’s injury

“Unfortunately, we have an injury with Hee Chan, but the rest are more or less ready. We have a little bit of a problem with another player, but we have to wait until tomorrow or until tonight to have more information, but it’s clear that Hee Chan is out.

“Hee Chan is an important player for us, but unfortunately, he’s not here so we have to put our confidence in other players. We trust in all the squad, all the players, and we have to put the trust in those chosen.

“We hope that Hee Chan is ready as soon as possible, but now, the more important players are the ones who are ready and available for tomorrow.”
