Asked how he will make his selection at the weekend, he replied: “It depends on the moment, what we want to do, the quality we are seeking and the relationships that we want on certain days.

“We have some hope with one of them, tomorrow maybe he’s able to train. We’ll have to see. I’m not going to tell you! [who].” Mikel Arteta says there is no new team news but says an unnamed player could be fit for Liverpool this weekend. The player could be either Saliba or Nketiah!

Arteta also confirmed Saka is completely over his illness and fine to start on Sunday.

Aston Villa

Aston Villa managed to make it two wins in a row on the road as they beat Chelsea 2-0 following it up with a 2-1 over Leicester City.

No injuries or suspensions were picked up by the Aston Villa players in their match against Leicester City.

Is Boubacar Kamara back, what are the updates on the others

“Kamara not available. We are waiting for his progress. His injury is more or less 10 days or two weeks. He’s not going to play tomorrow. Other players are still – Philippe Coutinho and Matty Cash – injured. Both. The same with Kamara, different injuries but are more or less 10 days, two weeks, thinking that they will come back.”

What has clicked for Ollie Watkins, has there been a specific moment you feel?

“I was watching his last season at Brentford. He scores goals. We are trying to use his qualities, his commitment, his power and try to add him to learn different ways to improve. He’s very humble to do it.

“Each session is very good; he’s the example. He wants to learn, improve. He listens to everything. He works on and off the pitch. He thinks only about football and watches clips of him and other strikers. It’s the way! It’s a very good example for me to use for other players. Ollie Watkins is 100 percent committed.”

Bournemouth

Bournemouth had mixed fortunes over the week at home as they won 2-1 against Fulham following it up with a 2-0 defeat to Brighton. These results mean that the Cherries still find themselves in the relegation zone.

Lewis Cook picked up a yellow card for Bournemouth but no other injuries or suspensions were picked up by the Bournemouth players.

Quotes via Bournemouth website:

“Marcos has a slight hamstring concern, but we’ll check again in the morning. Hopefully he’ll be okay.

“In terms of Illia Zabarnyi, he’s trained well for a while. Obviously his last competitive game was a while ago so that’s a consideration, but he’s fit enough to play a real substantial part if needed.

O’Neil went on to discuss the remainder of the squad, placing particular emphasis on Marcus Tavernier, who returned from injury in last week’s 2-1 win over Fulham.

“He’s closer to making a start,” O’Neil continued.

“He’s had two decent sub appearances, so we’ll see how he is in the morning. We have people specialised in that area, so I’ll speak to them and get the advice. I’ll obviously speak to Tav himself as well and we’ll try and make a real good decision on it.

Brentford

Brentford drew 3-3 against Brighton during the weekend and faced a 1-0 defeat to Manchester United, both games being played away from home for the Bees. After a brilliant run a few weeks back, Brentford now find themselves with only one win in their last five games.

Damsgaard and Norgaard picked up yellow cards in the match. No other players were suspended or injured for Brentford.

Brighton

Brighton drew against Brentford in a thrilling 3-3 draw and then defeated Bournemouth in the second game of DGW29. There was an injury concern for Brighton stars, Mac Allister and Caicedo from the Bournemouth game. “We are lucky to have Evan. He is always improving in terms of performances. “He’s scoring a lot of goals which is important. I love working with the young players.”

Tariq Lamptey and Adam Lallana are still absent through injury.

Chelsea

Chelsea played two back-to-back home games losing 2-0 to Aston Villa and drawing 0-0 against Liverpool. After managing to win two games in a row, Chelsea have since had no wins in their last 3 games which led to the sacking of Graham Potter and the reappointment of Frank Lampard as the new gaffer.

Matteo Kovacic picked up a yellow card in the Blues’ recent match but no other players were injured or suspended.

Chelsea PC/Injury Updates:

Updates from Frank Lampard’s press conference ahead of their match against Wolves (via chelseafc.com).

On Mason Mount:

With Mason I know he’s had a few slight injury problems as I understand it. The important thing for me will be to talk to him and find out where he’s at but I know what I get from Mason. So I just want to see him perform on the pitch and we have a good relationship so we’ll talk a lot. I think he’s a huge player for Chelsea and has been during his time here.

Other injuries in the camp:

Azpilicueta has been unavailable since his head injury against Southampton while Broja and Thiago Silva are still out recovering from their injuries. Aubameyang also remains a doubt after missing the game against Liverpool.

Crystal Palace

The Eagles under their returning boss, Roy Hodgson, managed to pull off a 2-1 comeback win with an injury-time winner from Mateta. This win means that Palace have now stopped their 4-match losing streak making it their first win in their last five games.

Three players picked up yellow cards for the Eagles but no players were injured or suspended.

Everton

The Toffees were held 1-1 at home by Tottenham. Everton are now out of the relegation zone due to a better goal difference and have only one win in their last five games.

Abdoulaye Doucouré picked up a red card after a clash with Harry Kane along the sidelines. He is set to miss the next three games. No other players were injured or suspended for Everton.

Pretty good, Ruben missed out [against Tottenham Hotspur] with a tight Achilles but he’s back on the grass training, Dom [Calvert-Lewin] continues his recovery, obviously, and Andros [Townsend] a bit more distantly. We’re pretty good overall. Some players are just carrying a few knocks and bruises but nothing too serious.

Furthermore on Dominic Calvert-Lewin:

It just means [his rehabilitation] is continuing on a daily basis, but he’s back on the grass.

Fulham

Willian returns from his suspension but Mitrovic’s ban has been further extended after he was handed an 8-game suspension for his Red card vs Man United in the FA Cup. The Fulham star will now return only in GW36.

Liverpool PC/Injury Updates:

Quotes from Klopp via Liverpool website:

Klopp said: “Virgil, completely normal, was back in training. Luis and Thiago training completely normal.

“The plan with Luis is that he will be available 100 percent for Leeds. Again, it looks good, everything is fine, but it was a long, long injury and so we have to be careful. We will probably not involve him for Sunday.

“Thiago looks slightly different. He was not out that long, trained now three, or four times with the team, and might be available. But we have to check how he feels today.”

Manchester City

Pep Guardiola rather surprisingly was straightforward in updating the fitness of Haaland who has trained really well in the last two days and is good to go as mentioned by Pep during his pre match press conference. Foden will be out and this means rotation will not be heavy in the attacking spots with Grealish and Mahrez expected to start.

Pep Guardiola: “If we drop points, Arsenal will be PL Champions in advance. If we win, win, win, win, we might be Champions on the last game of the season. This is what is going to happen…”

Pep Guardiola on whether Erling Haaland needs minutes vs Southampton ahead of the UCL QFs: “Bayern Munich is my last thought…”

Manchester United

Man United have good news and bad news on the injury side with Eriksen back in training and will be a part of the squad tomorrow vs Everton. However, Shaw is ruled out for the Everton game and Casemiro will serve the last of his 4 game suspension vs Everton. Martial is already back and came in as a sub against Brentford in the 1-0 win.

These two wins ensure that they now have four wins in a row and find themselves in third position in the league table.

Newcastle United PC/Injury Update(Via Newcastle Wesbsite)

On opting to select either Callum Wilson or Alexander Isak to lead the line against Thomas Frank’s Bees, with the pair both on target at the London Stadium:

“They’re the problems you want to have – it’s a great situation to be in. I’ve been in other situations where you might not even have a player to fit the role and now I’ve got two outstanding players.

“I know I’ll try and make the right call for the next game. You need goals and I want those options and choices. The players have to understand when they’re playing or not but both have.

“Alex was excellent about my decision and proved that when he came on and scored (against West Ham). Callum, roles reversed, didn’t start against Manchester United but came on and scored. It’s that competition that will hopefully drive both players on to give more.”

Howe on playing Isak and Wilson together (Via BBC)

Howe admitted there’s scope for that to happen: “I think it all depends on the game, the situation and what players you have.

“As I’ve said many times, Callum and Alex can play together as well, so it’s not just a case of one or the other.

“I do see a time and a place where they’ll be on the pitch at the same time.”

Nottingham Forest

Forest were held 1-1 at home by Wolves and were defeated 2-1 away at Leeds during the week. This winless run in two games means that Forest now have no wins in their last five games and are out of the relegation zone on goal difference.

Four yellow cards were picked up by the Forest players during their match against Leeds. Emmanuel Dennis picked up an injury in the 71st minute and was replaced by Andre Ayew but no players were injured or suspended.

Updates from Steve Cooper’s press conference ahead of their match against Aston Villa (via nottinghamforest.co.uk).

On Emmanuel Dennis:

Emmanuel Dennis came off the other night and it’s something we’re going to look at in regards to Saturday.

On Jesse Lingard:

We’re continuing to manage Jesse who has had some niggles with his Achilles and his knee.

On Ryan Yates:

Yatesy has had some illness and had problems with his shoulder, so that’s one we’re having to look at on a daily basis in regards to Saturday.

On other injury updates:

Taiwo and Cheikhou got some important minutes so they’re getting closer after being out for a long time. Scott McKenna is back in training which is a positive and Dean Henderson is probably going to be back in training next week. The rest of it is as it was really. Some players are coming back, but in regards to Saturday, other than one or two picking up some stuff on Tuesday night, it’s as we were.

Southampton

Southampton faced a 1-0 defeat against West Ham away from home. Winless in their last four games, the Saints find themselves at the bottom of the league table.

Bednarek and Caleta-Car picked up yellow cards for Southampton but no other players were injured or suspended.

On Bella-Kotchap and Livramento:

On Juan Larios:

Spurs

On Ben Davies:

It’s a start, it’s going well but with Ben, we have to wait a bit of time.

On overall team news:

There is no good news in terms of players coming back for this game.

Stellini had good news on Richarlison and hinted that he could make his return against Bournemouth in the next gameweek. Yves Bissouma (ankle), Rodrigo Bentancur (knee), Ryan Sessegnon (hamstring) and Emerson Royal (knee) remain sidelined.

West Ham

West Ham managed a 1-0 victory over Southampton in the first game of their double but faced an embarrassing 5-1 defeat at the hand of Newcastle in the second game of the DGW29. Moyes however has still retained the backing of the board and will continue as the Hammers manager.

West Ham PC/Injury Updates:

Quotes from Moyes on Team news via West Ham website:

“We’ll know more today once we’ve seen the players train. We had a recovery session yesterday and we’ll get the players together today.”

The group of players we have are fantastic lads.

They’re really honest, committed and have done a brilliant job over the last few seasons for us with the way they’ve worked and how the results have gone.

We expect the same from them – it doesn’t change, they haven’t suddenly become bad players. You can make individual mistakes but we have to get past it now.

Wolves

Wolves managed to salvage a 1-1 draw equalising in the 83rd minute against Nottingham Forest away from home. They now have only one win in their last five games and are clear of the relegation zone by only one point.

Five players picked up yellow cards for Wolves including Ruben Neves who picked up his 10th yellow card of the campaign and will miss the next two matches against Chelsea and Brentford.

Wolves PC/Injury Updates:

Updates from Julen Lopetegui’s press conference ahead of their match against Chelsea (via wolves.co.uk).

On Ruben Neves’ supension:

We know the kind of player Ruben is for us, but he’s going to be out for two matches. We have to find solutions, we have to trust in other players, and to be ready to prepare the match with other players. Who is going to play in his position, we will see. Of the ten yellow cards, we were here for four I think. This is part of the season, we have to find one other solution.

On injury updates:

Fortunately, Hee Chan [Hwang] recovered this week. The rest we don’t have updates.

Fun Fact: An extra team to watch out

AFC Richmond

After signing Zava, AFC Richmond have quickly been climbing up the ranks in the Premier League table. With a chance to go to the top of the table, Richmond were battered 4-1 by West Ham, managed by former club staff, Nathan Shelley.

Many red cards and yellow cards were picked up by the Greyhounds with Zava scoring the only goal. Ted Lasso and his team have a lot of planning to do if they are to turn this loss around and stay in the Premier League and try to win it.
