Pros of FPL GW28 Free Hit
- You can hold your 3 Brighton assets, Rashford, Shaw, Salah, etc who blank in GW28 but have a Double Gameweek in GW29
- Choose the Arsenal triple-up you want and make the sideway moves to get the likes of in-form players like Trossard and Martinelli.
- Attack the upside with Good Differential Picks like Trossard, Watkins, Chilwell, Maddison, etc.
- Hold Haaland and Captain him in GW30/GW31 where his effective ownership would be low.
Cons of FPL GW28 Free Hit
With 7 confirmed fixtures for GW28, it is actually manageable to field 10/11 players with free transfers or just a hit. Free Hit can be saved up for later Gameweeks.
Where else can Free Hit be used?
- GW32 Blank– 4 teams are likely to blank. Likely to be big teams like City, United, Chelsea, and Brighton.
- GW34 Double– 4-6 teams Double
- GW37 Double– 4-6 teams Double
All the Double Gameweeks and Blank Gameweeks till the end of the season are explained in simple terms below-
- Newcastle, Leeds United, Brentford, Nottingham Forest, Leicester City, Bournemouth, Aston Villa & Chelsea will not blank GW28 and Double in GW29. So there is a strong case to use your Free Transfers/Hits to get players from these teams instead of using the Free Hit.
Players to Target on an FPL GW28 Free Hit
- Arsenal– Martinelli, Trossard, Saka, Odegaard, Zinchenko, Gabriel
- Newcastle– Trippier, Schar, Pope, Almiron, Isak
- Tottenham– Harry Kane, Forster, Porro, Son
- Chelsea– Chilwell, James, Havertz, Kepa
- Aston Villa– Watkins, Buendia, Alex Moreno
- Brentford– Toney, Raya, Henry
- Leicester– Maddison, Ihenacho, Daka
- Wolves– Sa, Kilman, Dawson
- Bournemouth– Billing, Dango Ouattara, Solanke

FPL GW28 Free Hit Drafts
FPL GW28 Free Hit Draft One:
- In form Arsenal triple up of Martinelli, Trossard, and Saka. With Jesus likely to be eased in slowly, expect Arsenal to retain the same front three who have a great understanding between them at the moment. Martinelli has 5 goals, and 47 points from the last 7 games, Trossard with a hattrick of assists in GW26 as well are 2 players in excellent form, and are good captaincy shouts as well.
- It is noteworthy that Arsenal have a midweek Europa League game on Thursday vs Sporting Lisbon. Have an eye on the game, injury updates, and minutes played before picking your Arsenal triple-up/Captaincy choice.
- Double up on Newcastle’s defense(Trippier & Schar) vs Forest who have the 2nd least big chances in the league since the World Cup.
- The front three pick themselves.
- Watkins– 6 goals from the last 7 games averaging more than 7 points per game
- Kane– In form and 2 goals for Forest in GW26, Good record vs Southampton(11 goals, 6 assists from 15 games in Premier League)
- Toney– Consistent and Up against Leicester who have conceded the most goals(21) in the league since the World Cup.
- We have gone with Forster in this draft who plays a Southampton side struggling for goals. Kepa is another excellent option to consider.
- Substitutes- Billing, Moreno, and Botman. All are in good form and are capable of filling in if any of the players miss out.
Amongst Bournemouth players, in the last two games, the top two players for xGI are Billing and Ouattara. Billing is 1st with an xGI of 1.4 while Dango Ouattara is 2nd with an xGI of 1.2, While Billing scored in both games, Ouattara got the assist vs Liverpool. The two Bournemouth options are great ultra differentials to consider. Solanke during the same period has registered only an xGI of 0.6 and with a lot of forward options to consider, it’s tough to go with Solanke.

FPL GW28 Free Hit Draft Two:
- Slightly more Differential draft with explosive upside double up of Chilwell and James. We all know how explosive both can be on their day. If Potter continues to play with three at the back with James & Chilwell as wingbacks, you could in for a feast. They are capable of attacking returns and also a clean sheet. Can be the big upside move on Free Hit. Have an eye on James fitness/Health news before locking in James.
- Havertz comes in for Toney in this draft if you are the manager who loves taking those risks. He’s on penalties for Chelsea as well which is an added bonus.
- Son is also a good punt for Free Hitters in GW28. He is not in the best of the forms, but is slowly getting back to the groove with a good display vs Forest in GW28- 4 shots, 5 key passes, 0.6 xGI, 1 goal. Southampton are one of his favorite opponents too with 12 goals, 6 assists from 16 games and blanking only twice from the 14 starts he had vs Saints.
