He’s training very well, he will need time, of course and we have to support him, not give him pressure. He has the possibility to make his debut tomorrow.

On Bertrand Traore:

Gary O’Neil on injuries, Brooks, Stanislas, Fredricks

“We’ve been really unfortunate with injuries a lot, whether it be impact injuries or innocuous ones to really key players.

“We’ve had a tough spell injury-wise. I don’t like talking too much about it the day before a game, but what I can tell you is that David Brooks won’t be available, neither will Junior Stanislas or Ryan Fredericks.

On Solanke, Tavernier, Billing fitness-

“Dominic Solanke and Marcus Tavernier have both had good weeks on the grass and I’ll have a couple of late calls tomorrow. Let’s see at 2pm tomorrow who we have available.”

“Lewis Cook, Philip Billing, Dom Solanke and Marcus Tavernier were all missing from the last game. They’re big players and being able to put them back into a matchday squad will be as big as us putting the new faces back in.

“They’re huge players if you think back to the good run we went on when I first took over. They all played a big part and it’s really important we get them back. With the additions too, the group starts to look really strong.

Mac Allister is suspended for the GW22 fixture vs Bournemouth. Caicedo will be staying at Brighton amidst transfer rumours linked to Arsenal and Chelsea. Situation on Evan Ferguson’s injury unclear.

Potter on “If we can see Enzo in GW22”

“We’ll see. We’ve got to go through the paperwork and he needs to get clearance and all that. I’ve spoken to him. My Spanish isn’t great and his English isn’t great, so we needed a translator, but we’ll get there. He is an impressive young man and I’m really excited to work with him.”

Potter on Injuries

“Ben Chilwell, Reece James, Raheem Sterling, and Ruben [Loftus-Cheek] are back in the squad, not ready for 90 minutes but in the squad. Wesley [Fofana] has been part training partly with the team and he will be stepping it up next week. “Wilfried is someone who recovers quite quickly, but we don’t want to put a date on his injury. We are just going to let him work with the medical staff and get him back as soon as possible.

Viera on Ferguson, Mcarthur and Andersen-

“[Nathan Ferguson and James McArthur] are progressing really well. They trained with the first-team for the last couple of weeks so they are in a really good position, but it is too short for them to be involved in the first-team at the minute. There is a protocol in place that is important for us to follow but they are doing well.

“Joachim Andersen is slowly progressing, but he is not available for the game tomorrow.”

With his scoring record, level of performance, before the injuries he’s a very good player. Ben Godfrey is closer, Keane is getting fitter and trained, Garns is going to be a little bit yet.

Rodgers on Vardy who missed last week’s FA Cup game

“We obviously have one or two to look at tomorrow after training to see on availability. Jamie(Vardy) hasn’t done so much over this last period of time but he’s out on the field, so we’ll see what his reaction is like to that.”

Rodgers on New signing Souttar

“We just have to see on that,” Rodgers explained. “He had a little bit of a hip issue coming in. He’s trained with the squad today, but he’s one of the players I need to assess. If it wasn’t for this weekend, he’d certainly be ready to go for the following weekend.”

Rodgers on other injuries

“The likes of Bouba Soumaré and Jonny Evans will train next week. “Ricardo Pereira is doing very well. He’ll play in a [youth] game next week.

“He’s looked great over these last few weeks and it’s just about stepping that up. Apart from that it’ll be pretty much the same.”

Konate is injured and ruled out for up to 3 weeks with a hamstring injury. VVD continues to be a long term absentee.

Klopp quotes from the Pre-game press conference via Liverpool website

On Jota:

“Generally it’s looking better. The boys are training, Diogo Jota had a full session with the team this week but then the next day had again a rehab session, not because of the session the day before, it was just part of the plan. I think he will be back in normal training next week.

On Firmino and Diaz:

“Bobby(Firmino) is getting closer obviously, very good. Luis(Diaz) is running now, it will take a few weeks still but he is now out on the pitch as well running, which is really good.

On Konate and VVD:

“Ibou is out. Virgil is getting closer, but not ready for the [Wolves] game obviously. Parts of training, I think, next week as well for Virgil. I think there is nothing else so far, but there’s still two hours before training so a lot can happen.

“Ibou has a muscle injury. Again he didn’t think it was massive, it happened in the game, I asked him after the game, ‘Are you OK?’ and he said, ‘Yeah, I’m OK.’ After the game [he had] treatment, scan, bam, out.”

“Very good. Of course, he did only one session but you can see he’s a very fit player. I didn’t have a different expectation. He’s coming from Bayern Munich. German [clubs] they are always [about] fitness, [it’s] always good. So, he is [fit]. So, I think he is ready to play.

“I think he’s a really smart player. I think we gave him some guidance but I think he knows what to do, he knows the job, so he could do [start].”

Newcastle United

Bruno Guimaraes is suspended for three games after a straight red card against Southampton in the Carabao Cup semi-final second-leg match and will be available for selection only for the finals against Manchester United.

Newcastle United PC/Injury Update:

Eddie Howe pre-match press conference updates via @NUFC

On Bruno Guimaraes:

When you lose one player you have to readjust & there will be an opportunity for the team to regroup and find another way. The good thing for Bruno is that he’ll be available for the final, but we have three huge Premier League games he’ll miss.

On Anthony Gordon and Harrison Ashby:

Both players will be available. They did a couple of individual sessions around the game and trained with the group yesterday. It was a small group so they haven’t trained fully with the team but they’re fit and fine.

On Alexander Isak:

Alex made a vital contribution in that moment. He was able to jump & block the free-kick but took a blow to the side of the head & had very slight signs of concussion. We’ve followed all the protocols but whether he’ll be available, I’m not sure.

Nottingham Forest

Forest have signed Navas on deadline day. He could come straight into the starting eleven if fitness is not a concern as first-choice keeper Henderson is ruled out for at least a few weeks due to injury. Other new signings(Felipe, and Jonjo Shelvey) could feature although not from the beginning.
