FPL GW10 Wildcard Team & Drafts to Consider | Wildcard Guide

First things first, There will be unlimited transfers for all managers after GW16 due to the World Cup Break. With most managers already using the Wildcard in GW8/GW9, there is not much room to use the use the Wildcard other than the obvious one in GW13 when there is a fixture swing. However GW10 is not at all a bad option to use the Wildcard if you already don’t have players like Zaha, Maddison, James, Haaland, etc and don’t want to take big hits. In this article, we analyze the fixtures from GW10, players to target in Wildcard and pick 4 different drafts which should give you the idea to pick a FPL GW10 Wildcard team.

FPL GW12 Blank for Arsenal and Man City

Note: Arsenal vs Man City in FPL GW12 has been postponed to accommodate the canceled Arsenal vs PSV Europa league game. In GW12, both Man City and Arsenal will blank.

One thing to keep in mind while selecting your GW10 Wildcard draft is that with Arsenal and City blanking, pick players on the bench with good fixtures in GW12.

Budget players with good fixtures in GW12

  • Trossard, Dunk, Welbeck vs Forest
  • Zaha, Guehi vs Wolves
  • Zemura vs Southampton
  • Fofana vs Brentford
  • Almiron, Schar vs Everton
  • Watkins, Mings vs Fulham
  • Mitrovic vs Villa
  • Maddison, Barnes, Justin, Ward vs Leeds

Pros of playing Wildcard in FPL GW10:

  • Can get a strong bench which should help you navigate the GW12 blanks for City and Arsenal
  • Get players like Foden, Bowen, Zaha and Maddison in midfield who are not still heavily owned.
  • Change the structure of your team without multiple hits. Remove Liverpool players who have Arsenal and City in the next 2 games
  • Can get rid of players like Mitrovic and Isak if they are ruled out ahead of GW10

Cons of playing Wildcard in FPL GW10:

  • Can’t pick 5-6 players from Arsenal and City as they blank in GW12. If you Wildcard in GW13, you can get 6 players from City and Arsenal who have good fixtures from GW13.
  • Likes of Mitrovic can be benched this week due to injury but can be fit to start from next game. This makes things little tricky.

FPL GW10 Wildcard Drafts

FPL GW10 Wildcard Draft 1

Key notes about the Draft

  • Haaland and De Bruyne as Premium picks on this draft. Triple City attack with Foden also in there.
  • Plan to get Salah and Trossard for GW12 as shown in right image.
  • Watkins and Welbeck as two Differential strikers. Welbeck could be a hot differential prospect in GW12 vs Forest.
  • Toney can be bought in Watkins if you want to play it little safe. Mitrovic should be top priority if passed fit.
  • No Cancelo is the major con in this draft

FPL GW10 Wildcard Draft 2

Key notes about the Draft

  • Going right away with Salah instead of going to KDB and then switching back
  • If Mitrovic is not fit, Toney and Watkins best like for like replacements.
  • Double Newcastle defense with Pope and Trippier. Mings and Guehi both have good fixtures in GW12 fill in as budget defenders.

FPL GW10 Wildcard Draft 3

Key notes about the Draft

  • Similar to Draft 1 , but slightly more risky with more differential picks in Bowen and Perisic
  • Plan is to get back Salah in GW12 for De Bruyne when City and Arsenal
  • No Martinelli a slight risk, but Liverpool and Blank in 2 out of the 3 games is worth the gamble
  • Again Toney and Mitrovic(if fit) are safer picks compared to Welbeck and Watkins. Mitrovic should be a no-brainer on GW10 Wildcard if he is passed fit.
