Best UCL Fantasy Differentials to Consider for MD3 | 22/23 Season

It’s almost time for yet another Champions League week after the international break which means we are back for yet another UCL Fantasy Differentials MD3 blog.

But first, as always I would like to thank everyone who gives my blog a read, I am really humbled and grateful for all the love and support the UCL Fantasy MD1-2 Differentials blog got.

I love putting in the research and trying my best to give you readers a unique perspective when it comes to playing the #UCLFantasy game.

Now let’s focus on today’s topic: UCL Fantasy Differentials MD3.

In this article, I will talk about the best UCL Fantasy MD3 Differentials with less than 10% ownership and hopefully unearth some hidden gems who will help propel your teams to get those massive returns and rank boosts in MD3.

Looking forward to MD3 there are some notably good match-ups to target, In my opinion on paper, the Bayern Munich vs Plzeñ & Man City vs Copenhagen can be a great source of points.

UCL Fantasy MD3 Differentials (<10% TSB)

Jamal Musiala~Bayern Munich, 7M, TSB: 6%

UCL Fantasy Differentials MD3 Musiala~Bayern Munich
Musiala at 7M is a must-have this week

Jamal Musiala is one of the hottest young prospects in Europe at the moment and given that he’s only 19 years, there is no limit to his potential.

This year especially Musiala has taken his game to the next level and has already put in some breadth-taking performances for Bayern Munich.

In just 6 starts in the Bundesliga, Musiala has amassed 5xG & 3xA at an xG of 2.4 & xA of 1.9 which suggests he’s over-performing but I feel given his performances, his output is not a surprise.

Per 90 mins, Musiala currently boasts npxG+xA of 0.80 which suggests he is more than likely to have a goal contribution every game.

At just 7M and a current ownership of 6% he is your go to midfielder for MD3 given that he’s in blistering form & Bayern play Plzeñ at home.

Filip Kostić~Juventus, 5.5M, TSB: 2%

UCL Fantasy Differentials MD3 Filip Kostić~Juventus
Kostić can be a great buy for MD3

I love players like Filip Kostić both from a footballing & UCL Fantasy perspective, he is what you call the “Utility guy” who can slot in several positions depending on the team.

Kostić already has 1xG & 2xA to his name in 6 starts for Juventus in Serie A this season.

Filip Kostic Heatmap
Kostić Juventus heat map

Looking at his heatmap, you can see Kostić is the type of player who loves to attack and put in the crosses from time to time, he has played as a LW/LWB/LB for Juventus so far.

In my opinion, if you are looking for a Juventus option for MD3, Kostić is definitely one of the best options both from an attacking and clean sheet potential perspective.

On paper, Juventus have 2 very winnable back to back fixtures vs Maccabi Haifa in MD3 & MD4 and Kostić at 2% ownership is a great differential to target.

Pedro Gonçalves~Sporting Lisbon, 7.5M, TSB: 1%

UCL Fantasy Differentials MD3 Pedro Gonçalves~Sporting Lisbon
Gonçalves is Sporting’s key playmaker

Pedro Gonçalves is such a creative player with so many sources of getting UCL Fantasy points, he is Sporting Lisbon’s main playmaker.

It still haunts me that I didn’t back my own POV on Gonćalves in last year’s UCL Fantasy group stages where I missed out on consecutive double digit hauls from him.

I will not be making that mistake again and he was one of the first names in my MD3 wildcard team.

In 8 starts in Primeira Liga, Gonçalves has 5xG & 3xA so far and has been looking in very good form lately with yet another goal in Sporting’s last match.

Unbelievably, Gonçalves is still only owned by 1% of UCL Fantasy managers so this is a perfect opportunity to get him before he becomes a popular asset.

Konstantinos Tsimikas~Liverpool, 4.5M, TSB: 2%

Tsimikas~Liverpool~UCL
Tsimikas at 4.5M vs Rangers at home could be great

This is one of the few window of opportunities where you can own a Liverpool left back for 4.5M vs Rangers at home who aren’t in the best of forms.

Andy Robertson is confirmed to be out of MD3 with injury and thus Tsimikas is set to continue in his absence.

In 2 starts he already has 2xA and 1xA in UCL too and in my opinion, if you are on wildcard like me, Tsimikas is a great cheap enabler to cover the Liverpool defence.

Coming in at just 4.5M and playing on the first day in MD3 against a hapless Rangers side at home, there is decent potential for a clean sheet + an attacking return as well.

Tsimikas at the moment is only in 2% of teams in UCL Fantasy and can serve as a great UCL Fantasy Differential for MD3.

Andriy Lunin~Real Madrid, 4M, TSB: 1%

Lunin~Real Madrid
Lunin is just 4M in UCL Fantasy

Much like Tsimikas at Liverpool, it’s not everyday that you get to pick a playing GK from Real Madrid at 4M in UCL Fantasy.

It’s already been confirmed that Courtois is going to out for an indefinite period with injury and Lunin is going to deputise in goal for Real Madrid.

Another factor to bring in Lunin apart from his price point is the fact that Madrid have 2 games vs Shakthar which on paper have very good clean sheet potential.

Andriy Lunin also pairs well with Antonio Adán in terms of rotation during MD’s, you can have both GK’s for a miserly 8.5M and use more funds for other positions.

Lunin is only 1% owned so he is another wonderful differential enabler for MD3.

Dušan Vlahović~Juventus, 9M, TSB: 4%

Vlahovic~Juventus
Vlahović plays Maccabi Haifa in MD3

I wanted to finish off the blog with a Striker and in this case it’s Juventus’s Dušan Vlahović who plays Maccabi Haifa in MD3 in a must win game.

Long time readers would remember I am a big fan of Dušan and had done a detailed piece about Vlahović last year when he the switched from La Viola to Turin.

This season so far Vlahović has had 5xG & 1xA in 7 starts in Serie A which is a decent start in my opinion.

Juventus will rely heavily on him to do the business in MD3 against Maccabi Haifa and I think this is a great fixture to target irrespective of Juve’s topsy turvy form.

He comes in at very good price of 9M and is only owned by 4% of UCL Fantasy managers so if you are looking for a striker punt, Vlahović could be your man.
