FPL Gameweek 27 Analysis – Players To Buy, Hold or Sell

With a small blank Gameweek around the corner, and many managers using their free hits, let’s see who makes it to the list of players to buy, sell and hold for FPL Gameweek 27!

Players to Buy ahead of FPL Gameweek 27

Harry Kane

So far in GW 26, Kane has scored 13 points with a game against Burnley yet to play. He seems to be truly back in form. Along with this he has an amazing fixture run till the end of the season, with Leeds and Everton in the next two weeks. After which, he has a double in GW29 against Brighton and Manchester United. Also, there are no more Blank Gameweeks for Spurs this season.

Since Gameweek 21, he has an NPxG/90 and xG/90 of 0.67 from a total of 27 shots. Also, in terms of creativity, he has 0.40 Big Chances Created per 90 minutes, and an xA/90 of 0.34. With Son back in the picture, the duo can seems to have hit the grounds running.

Raphinha

The next player to make it to the players to buy list is Leeds United’s winger, Raphinha. After facing Spurs in GW27, he has a double against Aston Villa and Leicester City in GW28, and Norwich in GW27. Moreover, even in fixtures against City, Arsenal and Chelsea, at this price point he can easily be rotated with other midfielders at this price point.

Over the previous 6 GWs, he has taken a total of 13 shots, and has a NPxG/90 of 0.2.

Wout Weghorst

One of first names on a free hit team for this week, is Weghorst(6.5m) from Burnley. Burnley have a double gameweek against Leicester and Crystal Palace, while 4 teams don’t even have a fixture this week! For this week, Weghorst, would be one of the players, who is on top of the to buy list for this week.

He has an xG/90 of 0.26, and an xA/90 of 0.19 and a total of 1 Big Chance Created. The Burnley forward, since joining the league has scored 1 goal, and assisted one. Even till the end of the season, Brunley have great fixtures, as they only face a big team thrice in 12 weeks, with two fixtures yet to be rescheduled. A burnley player might be the safest purchase in the near future.

Players to Hold ahead of FPL Gameweek 27

Kevin De Bruyne

KDB is an easy hold for this, as well as, future weeks. Manchester City has great fixtures up ahead, all the way till GW38. Manchester City face Everton, Crystal Palace, Brighton and Burnley in their next five. Although they do not have a double gameweek as of now, they don’t have any blanks till the end of the season.

He has an xG/90 of 0.17 and xA/90 0.28 over the past 6 weeks. He has created a total of 2 Big Chances. Also, having KDB gives you an easier route to another premium like Bruno/Salah for their double Gameweek in future.

Philippe Coutinho

Coutinho on his debut against Manchester United, scored one goal in GW22. Since then, he has only returned in one week, which was a 3-3 draw against Leeds. However, Villa still have great fixture ahead, against Brighton, Southampton and Leeds back to back. Till then Coutinho is a hold, and can be assessed after the Leeds game, whether to transfer him out or not.

He has taken a total of 12 shots in the PL after his return and has an xG/90 of 0.26. He also has an xA/90 of 0.32 and Big Chances Created/90 of 0.51. At the price of 7.3m, he can easily be switched other midfielders in the bracket.

Players to Sell ahead of FPL Gameweek 27

Bowen

The players, which I would remove ahead of GW27, would be Jarrod Bowen(7.1m). He faces a difficult run of fixtures for a few weeks now, against Wolves, Liverpool, Villa and Spurs. After which, he goes on a good run of fixtures. He still has decent stats, at an xG/90 of 0.53 and an xA/90 of 0.16 over the past 6 weeks.

There are many players in this bracket, and also a lot of people are using heir Wildcards. Therefore, having a player like Raphinha for this period, then transferring him back again could be a good strategy.

Bernardo Silva

The next player to make it to this list is Bernardo Silva(7.3m). The City team always score a lot of goals, that too scored by many different players, therefore, trying to narrow down is a bit difficult, but can be based a on their forms. Although City still have great fixtures, but there are better options in this midfield position and from the City team to own right now, like KDB. He hasn’t scored a goal since GW15, and has been playing a bit deeper than he was, at the start of the season.

Earlier, he was playing as winger, and sometimes a False 9, however, Pep has been using him in more of deeper roles, thereby decreasing his Goal/Assist output. At the same time, Bernardo playing in a deeper role, increases KDB’s prospects, making the upgrade from Bernardo to KDB more evident.
