226 points- GW34, 2015/16 season

If you are looking for Bench Boost inspiration in a Double Gameweek with multiple hits, you are at the right place. A team called Savage Strikers took a 20-point hit in GW34 of the 2015/16 season to fetch 226(-20)= 202 points.

Just this image itself brings back up so many memories of that time- Firmino and Coutinho playing for Liverpool, Sanchez killing it at Arsenal, Payet balling at West Ham, Rashford as a 4.5 million striker in FPL, Aguero being peak Aguero and so on..

The heroes for Savage strikers:

  • Aguero– 3 goals vs Chelsea, 1 goal vs Newcastle
  • Sanchez– 2 goals vs WBA, 1 goal vs Palace
  • Gomes– 2 penalty saves off Sadio Berahino from WBA and a clean sheet in a 1-0 win
  • Sturridge- Goal in both games of the double vs Everton and Bournemouth. He was a differential pick as he made only 14 appearances throughout the season due to injuries.
  • Darmian– 17 points despite missing the first game(unused sub vs Villa) of the DGW courtesy goal, assist, clean sheet, and 3 bonus in a 2-0 win vs Palace
  • De Gea- Clean sheet in both games
  • Kolarov- Clean sheet vs Chelsea and Assist vs Newcastle
  • Bellerin and Koscielny– Clean sheet vs WBA and 1-1 draw vs Palace
  • Cresswell– Goal vs Leicester City
  • Firmino– Goal vs Bournemouth
  • Payet– Assist and Yellow card(Had a great season though- 9 goals, 12 assists from 30 games)
  • Rashford- Goal vs Villa
  • Coutinho- Unused sub in the first game, Goal vs Everton in the second game

225 points- GW36, 2021/22 Season

Rosie Barry of Australia got this banger of a score, getting 225 points. She took a 4-point hit that week and brought in KDB, Nketiah, and Holgate. These three players alone rewarded her with a mammoth 118 points.

The main contributions came from City duo of Sterling(28 points) and De Bruyne(30 points). De Bruyne was Triple Captained in a master stroke to get 90 points that week. 369,000 managers used their Triple Captain Chip that week. But only 55,000 managers used it on De Bruyne. 186,000 managers Triple Captained Salah who returned with only 3 points(9 points if you Triple Captained him)

  • De Bruyne- Assist and 6 points vs Newcastle, 4 goals and 24 points vs Wolves
  • Sterling- 2 goals, 16 points vs Newcastle, 1 goal, 1 assist and 12 points vs Wolves

Sterling was a massive Differential Pick that week as he was owned by only 2.2% of the FPL managers. He was also in poor form prior to this as his last 4 Gameweek returns(GW32-GW35) read 2,0,2,3- A mere 7 points from 4 GWs.

It paid off really well with Alexis Sanchez’s 54 points as captain- 12 points v Stoke and 15 points(2 goals) vs Sunderland. Gabriel Jesus got a 19-point haul- Goal vs Leicester, Goal+ Assist vs WBA.

Kane was captained only by 5.5% of FPL managers in DGW37 of the 16/17 season. Bizarrely 36,677 managers transferred him out before the double gameweek!
