17 of the Top 20 scorers of GW 10 have an ownership of less than 15%. To break it out down further for easier comprehension, except Haaland, Mbeumo, and Son, none of the popular assets really fired. Even Mbeumo and Haaland were sold by many evident by their fall in price before the GW10 deadline. So in case you saw a red arrow last week, treat it as an aberration and plan for GW11.
So, let’s start with our BUY-HOLD-SELL article for this GW, sponsored by …. Well, nobody. We are poor, but you can help here if you want 😊

FPL Gameweek 11 Transfer Tips: Two Players to BUY
Crystal Palace Defenders
Marc Guehi (£4.5m) – DEF, Crystal Palace – 3.6% TSB
Joachim Andersen (£5.0m) – DEF, Crystal Palace – 19.3% TSB
Crystal Palace rank top in terms of FDR in the short to medium term (GW 11-13 as well as GW 11-15)
Their defense has also notched up some impressive numbers
- 2nd for Clean Sheets
- 2nd for Shots from Set Pieces conceded
- 3rd for Shots on Target conceded
Between the two, Andersen has racked up the higher points courtesy of his 2 goals and 1 assist. In fact, he was the highest-scoring defender till a few GWs ago.
However, in case you’re priced out for Andersen, Guehi is a good asset too. In the last 3 GWs, Guehi has outscored Andersen although the latter has an assist in this period.
So, depending on your budget, you can choose to go for either of them

Konstantinos Tsimikas (£4.6m) – DEF, Liverpool – 7.8% TSB
Robertson is likely to be back only by GW21. So Tsimikas provides a cheap route into a Liverpool defence which has kept back-to-back clean sheets.
The Greek defender is very much capable in playing the offensive game. If you look at his heat map vs Nottingham Forest, he took up positions up the field which were very similar to Trent Alexander Arnold on the opposite flank. Tsimikas also took more corners than his more famous teammate.
Tsimikas can potentially keep 4 more clean sheets in the next 6 games and given his cheap price, he can easily be benched in the games against Brentford and Man City.
Please note, if you have the budget, by all means, go for TAA or VVD. However, since most of us like to play and spend heavily on MF and FWD, hence I recommended Tsimikas as a cost-efficient alternative.

Non Haaland Mon City Outfield Players
Phil Foden (£7.5m) – MID, Man City – 9.6% TSB
Julian Alvarez (£7.2m) – FWD, Man City – 34.0% TSB
The only reason why non-Haaland is mentioned is because as mentioned in my last article, Haaland is a season-long HOLD.
Coming to his two partners in crime – Alvarez and Foden, I have seen both sets of owners get a little itchy with the fixtures and the slight inconsistency. Foden for example, had blanked 4 times in 5 games before notching up a goal against Man Utd. Alvarez, on the other hand, has been a tease returning and blanking in alternate GWs since the last 6 GWs. In fact, since GW 10 deadline, Foden has already dropped once in price and Alvarez is currently the most transferred out FWD behind the injured Isak.
However, if you’re still holding either/ both, this might be the week when you gain a differential advantage over your mini-league rivals. Bournemouth are ranked 19th for goals conceded and 18th for xGC in away matches this season. Last week’s surprise win over Burnley was Andoni Iraola’s first win of the campaign.
We don’t need many words to describe the prowess of Man City at Etihad. So, expect the Norwegian God to feast. But his two able commanders can equally thrive.
Ollie Watkins (£8.4m) – FWD, Aston Villa – 42.0% TSB
After scoring 53 points in 5 games, the expectations were sky high on Watkins to deliver against Luton at home. However, he blanked (only for the second time this season). This has led many frustrated managers to sell Watkins as he is the 3rd most sold FWD behind Isak and Alvarez.
However, if one looks at his underlying stats in GW10, he/ she will understand how incredibly unlucky Watkins was not to return. He had an xGI of 1.28 which was the 5th highest for this GW. Out of the Top 8 players with xGI last week, he was the only one to blank. Even hattrick hero Nketiah had an xGI of 1.03.
Watkins faces NFO this GW. The same NFO, against who, Liverpool FWD Darwin scored 10 points last GW. After Forest, Villa will face Fulham and Bournemouth between GWs 12 and 14. So, Watkins is a strong HOLD.

Luis Diaz (£7.4m) – MID, Liverpool – 8.2% TSB
It’s extremely sad and disturbing to know what’s happening in Diaz’s personal life. I can’t even imagine what he is going through now. Hence, it is not a surprise that Klopp decided to give him a rest for GW10. I won’t be surprised if he is rested for GW11 as well. I don’t feel that he is mentally ready with all the uncertainty.
Unfortunately, we must move on in life. And hence I recommend a SELL for Diaz as he has already dropped once in price. If he is not playing, he will block a Liverpool spot who are in red hot form and up against a relegation contender Luton. Beyond Luton, Liverpool faces a tricky home fixture against the stubborn Brentford defence followed by a trip to Etihad.
Hopefully, by then, Diaz’s situation will be much clearer (for the better). You can bring him back in GW14 when Liverpool faces Fulham and Sheffield in successive GWs.

Any Chelsea Asset
Chelsea are ranked 20th in terms of FDR for the next 6 GWs and it’s not a surprise.
Their recent form doesn’t induce much confidence either; with their only 3 wins coming against minnows Luton, Fulham and Burnley. To put things into perspective, there’s just 1 Chelsea player in the Top 40 FPL point scorer list (Sterling).
Hence, if at all, you want to consider Chelsea assets, GW16 is the time. For now, sell them – all of them.
