With Aston Villa’s newest signing Moussa Diaby, we will start the list of best FPL players to target from outside the top 6. Diaby can play not only on the wings but also as a striker. Last season in the Bundesliga, Diaby scored 9 times in the Bundesliga last season and provided 8 assists, averaging a npxGi of 0.59 per 90. He also averaged 2.79 shots per 90 with 1.22 per 90 on target. He has already scored for Villa in the pre-season and looks like a perfect fit. Matty Cash

Priced at just 4.5 million, Matty Cash is the next player on our list of best FPL assets outside the top 6. Despite starting only 20 games last season, Cash averaged 2.2 points per match last season and provided 2 assists in an always-improving Aston Villa squad. He had 2 shots and 12 touches in the box while creating 8 chances. If Cash is able to keep himself fit this season, he can be a great addition to your FPL team at just 4.5 million.

Ollie Watkins

Watkins had 15 goals and 8 assists last term and was one of the crucial players under Emery as Villa qualified for the UECL this season. He was the second-highest-scoring player in FPL in the 7.0 to 8.0 forwards bracket last season. Watkins is also the primary penalty-taker for Aston Villa!

An overlooked option, Watkins can make the 8 million price tag look like a joke if he hits the ground running, with penalty duties under his belt as well.

Cameron Archer

The last Aston Villa player on this list is Cameron Archer, a good bench fodder priced at just 4.5 million. Archer impressed while out on loan last season, scoring 11 goals and providing 6 assists in 20 appearances. Jaden Philogene

Jaden Philogene is another Villa talent to monitor this season and is expected to stay at Villa instead of heading out on another loan after impressing Emery. He has a goal and an assist in pre-season for the Villains and could be a 4.5 Million bench option.

He was at Cardiff City season and although he’s primarily a winger he was used in various postions which shows his versatility which could be handy for Emery and Villa with European competition in their schedule as well this season.

Brentford

Rico Henry

The next player on the list is Brentford’s left-back, Rico Henry. Priced at 4.5 million, Henry has shown great promise in the preseason with 2 assists already and could look to a bargain in a solid Brentford defence. Last season, Henry gave 3 assists, created 23 chances and 5 big chances, had 9 shots with 4 of them on target and averaged 0.89 touches in the box per 90.

Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa

The next two players on the list are Brentford’s two players who are highly tipped to take over Ivan Toney’s spot due to his suspension. Bryan Mbeumo last season had 9 goals and 9 assists to his name with an xG of 11.37. He created 52 chances and had 18 big chances himself last season. He averaged 1.89 shots and 1.47 shots in the box, too. On the other hand, Wissa is the one who has started pre-season well already scoring one goal. Last season Wissa scored 7 goals and gave 4 assists. He created 13 chances and 3 big chances last season. He averaged 1.31 shots and 1.06 shots in the box.

Mark Flekken

The first goalkeeper on this list of best FPL players outside of the top 6 is Mark Flekken. Flekken has been tipped to take over Raya, who is linked with a move away from the club, and at just 4.5 million, Flekken could be a great 4.5 million goalkeeping option. While he hasn’t looked his best in the pre-season, he averaged a 39% clean sheet percentage and 76% save percentage in a much weaker defence in the Bundesliga. Comparatively, Raya averaged a 31.6% clean percentage and a 77.7% save percentage last season.

Brighton

Jason Steele

Brighton is one of the best teams outside of the traditional top six and we have a number of FPL assets you can target from the Seagulls. Starting this segment is Jason Steele. Priced at 4.5 million, Steele became Brighton’s number 1 in the second half of last season. While it is still yet to be seen, whether Steele remains the number 1 for Brighton this season with the signing of Verbruggen, he is still a goalkeeper to keep an eye on. He averaged a 40% clean sheet percentage, but only a 61.4% save percentage last season, however, he did get an assist too. In the pre-season, Steele has looked good and also got an assist to his already. At 4.5 million, if Steel can keep his spot in the team, he can be a good option for your FPL team.

Pervis Estupiñán

Priced at 5 million, Pervis Estupiñán is one of the most popular choices this season with an ownership of 50.6% already. The left-back had 1 goal and 7 assists to his name, with an xGi of 5.68. He also created 49 chances and 6 big chances. He had 18 shots from inside the box and averaged 2.39 touches in the box. With favourable fixtures in the first three weeks, Estupiñán should be one of the first names in your FPL team.

Solly March and Kaoru Mitoma

One of the most debated topics on FPL Twitter right now is the one between Solly March and Kaoru Mitoma. March averaged 4.5 points per match last season and scored 6 goals and gave 10 assists. He also created 61 chances and 17 big chances while averaging a shot on target per game. Mitoma on the other hand averaged 4.2 points per match and scored 7 goals and gave 9 assists. He created 34 chances and 7 big chances while averaging 0.83 shots on target per game. However, Mitoma did start 7 games less than March. With both priced at 6.5 million, Mitoma is currently owned by 37.4% of managers, while March has low ownership of 3.1%.

Evan Ferguson and João Pedro

Next on the list of best FPL assets outside of the top 6 are the two young promising strikers Evan Ferguson and Joao Pedro. Priced at 6 million, Ferguson is set to be more involved in first-team action compared to last season. He started only 10 games, but still scored 6 goals and had 2 assists. He averaged around 2 shots from the box per game with an average of 2.7 touches in the box. On the other hand, João Pedro is currently priced at 5.5 million. Last season in the championship, Pedro scored 11 goals and assisted a further 4. Pedro is adapting well to life at Brighton scoring and assisting once each in the preseason. Both players are priced very decently and whichever one is able to secure a starting spot, should be considered for your FPL team.

Crystal Palace

Sam Johnstone

To start off our list of Crystal Palace players, we have Sam Johnstone. After Vieria’s sacking, Johnstone quickly became Palace’s number 1. In 9 starts, Johnstone was able to keep 3 clean sheets and had an impressive save percentage of 76.5%. If Palace are able to keep their strong form under Roy Hodgson, then Johnstone can be an impressive pick for your FPL team.

Joachim Andersen

The next player is Crystal Palace’s Centre-back, Joachin Andersen. Last season Palace were 4th best for xGC and if they were to continue on that trend this year, then priced at 4.5 million Andersen can be a great fit. He is nailed in the starting XI, rotates well with an Aston Villa defender and had an xGI of 2.91 last season too.

Eberechi Eze

The third Palace player on the list is the very exciting Eberechi Eze. Last season, Eze scored 10 goals and assisted 5 as he took his game to a higher level after Roy Hodgson’s appointment. Eze averaged 2.10 shots per game with 0.8 from inside the box, he also created 53 chances and 6 big chances. Coming into this season, Eze has also had a very good pre-season scoring 2 goals and providing 4 assists. Priced at just 6.5 million and with low ownership of 11.8%, Eze is an FPL player outside of the top 6 who can make a huge difference in your team.

Everton

Jordan Pickford

One of the best 4.5 million options right now, Jordan Pickford is someone who can benefit from Sean Dyche’s defensive system. While he kept only 8 clean sheets last season, he made 124 saves last season with a save percentage of 71.3%. With Everton showing defensive strength in the pre-season, we can expect Pickford to continue making saves and probably add to his clean sheets this season.

James Tarkowski

At 4.5 million, while Tarkowski doesn’t guarantee clean sheets, he is a very attacking defender and had a xGI of 4.86 last season. A big threat from set pieces (winning 71.4% of aerial duels), at 3.3% ownership, this FPL player outside of the top 6 allows you to bring in those premium assets while being capable of springing up a surprise or two.

Arnaut Danjuma

Danjuma at 5.5 Million could be another decent option to consider from Everton, The former Villarreal attacker has Champions League experience and is a proven goal scorer. In the successful 21/22 season for Villarreal, he scored 6 goals in 10 champions league games and a further 10 goals + 3 assists in 23 La Liga fixtures. He has the ability to play upfront as well and with DCL yet to play any pre-season game he could well start the season as Everton’s forward and could also be on penalties.

Newcastle United

Sven Botman

Newcastle United doesn’t have the best start to the season and it is still unclear which out of Wilson and Isak will be the starting striker, hence the only suggestion from Newcastle right now is Sven Botman. At 4.5 million, Botman was a nailed centre-back in one of the best defensive teams last season. He is 2 million cheaper than Trippier and while he doesn’t have the best fixtures in the first four gameweeks, he is a great bench option.

West Ham

Alphonse Areola

Areola is the only goalkeeper priced at 4.0 million, who can be the starting player for a team in the premier league this season. With doubts over Fabianski’s future, David Moyes might look to use Areola as the starting goalkeeper for the season. Last season in the Conference League, Areola had a save percentage of 81.1% and a clean sheet percentage of 46.2%. Keep an eye out for him!

Jarrod Bowen

We will end the list of the FPL players outside of the top 6 with a great differential option in Jarrod Bowen. Priced at 7 million with an ownership of just 5.6%, Bowen is coming off a stellar pre-season scoring 3 goals and providing 3 assists. While his opening fixtures aren’t the best, if Bowen can keep this form up, he can be a tasty differential in your FPL team.
