Differential Goalkeepers

Best Differential FPL Team- Goalkeepers

Jason Steele is the starting goalkeeper for the team. Brighton’s first three games have an FDR rating of 2. Besides, the Seagulls had the third-best defence in the league last season in terms of NPxGA.

Sam Johnstone will be the backup goalkeeper for the team. Crystal Palace have good fixtures from GW4 to GW6, the period in which Steele has a tricky run. In fact, 2 of the 3 fixtures in this period for Roy Hodgson’s men have an FDR rating of 2.

In the last 10 GWs last season, Palace had the second-best defence in the league in terms of Expected Goals Conceded(Only behind Man City). However, they did play a couple of games less when compared to some other teams.

Differential Defenders

Levi Colwill is our first pick among defenders. With Fofana out for the season, and Badiashile out for the initial months with injury, Colwill has a clear run as a starter for Chelsea. Besides, picking a £4.5 defender who is nailed from a traditional Big 6 team is a no-brainer!

Ben Chilwell is the second Chelsea defender in our squad. In spite of having a terrible season, Chelsea had the fifth-best defence in terms of xGC and seventh-best in terms of goals conceded last season. Chilwell, meanwhile has the best mins/ per attacking return among top defenders in FPL over the last 3 seasons.

Ethan Pinnock is the third defender on our team. Brentford have a great run of games to start the season. Not only do they have 3 out of the opening 4 games at home, but also 5 of their first 7 games have an FDR rating of 2. Pinnock, meanwhile, was second best for xG/90 and big chances/90 last among defenders. He was also joined top for goals among defenders.

Matty Cash concludes our list of starting defenders. Cash missed a lot of last season through injury. However, in the 2021-22 season, Cash was sixth best for attacking returns (7) among defenders. Furthermore, Villa had the third most number of clean sheets(8) since GW 21, last season.

Jordan Beyer will be the bench fodder among defenders. The Burnley man is a £4.0 defender who is likely to start most of the games if not all.

Differential Midfielders

Best Differential FPL Team- Midfielders

Son Heung Min ended the 2022-23 season in a fashion we are accustomed to seeing from him. In the last 12 games, the South Korean registered 5 goals and 3 assists. Only 9 players had more goal involvement during this period. Given that he comes at a paltry price point of £9.0, he has the potential to do a Rashford this campaign!

Raheem Sterling finished with 10 goals involvements ( 6 goals and 4 assists) last season, more than any of his teammates. Five of Chelsea’s opening eight games have an FDR rating of 2. Besides, with no European football, their assets could have an edge over other so-called big teams!

Chelsea’s fixtures from GW1-GW6(they also play Fulham and Burnley in GW7 and GW8)

Pascal Groß finished as the top-scoring Brighton player in FPL last season. He was also eight best among midfielders, with 159 points. Groß had 17 more goal involvements, one more than both Mitoma and March.

The German came out on top in the whole double GW frenzy at the end of last season, among Brighton players. The midfielder registered 43 points with 3 goals and 3 assists between GW31 and GW38.

Solly March is our last pick in midfield as far as the starting eleven is concerned. March finished with 6 goals and 10 assists last season, with 147 points. The Englishman collected 16 bonus points, which was more than any of his compatriots.

Marvelous Nakamba completes our midfield as the £4.5 bench fodder. The Zimbabwean was a key feature for Luton in the championship last season and is likely to be a 2-point machine in FPL this campaign.

Differential Forwards

Best Differential FPL Team- Forwards

Cody Gakpo is our first pick among forwards. The Dutchman registered 7 goals and 3 assists last season, the second most for attacking returns among Liverpool players, behind only Salah.

Stats of forwards on or below £7.5, since GW22 ~ FFHub

Besides, Gakpo played way more minutes when compared to Jota or Darwin Nunez in the second half of last season. As it stands, the Dutchman seems to be the best attacker from Liverpool that isn’t named Mo!

Gakpo got a goal and an assist in Liverpool’s first pre-season game vs Karlsruher

Julian Alvarez is the last pick among forwards who will make the starting eleven. In spite of playing only 1448 minutes, the Argentine registered 9 goals and 3 assists last season. in fact, only Haaland had a better xG per 90 and BC per 90 than Alvarez among Man City assets.

Alvarez started only 13 games last season. However, 7 of those starts came when KDB wasn’t in the starting eleven. In fact, Alvarez started 7 out of the 8 games the Belgian didn’t start. Given the fact that the Man City number 17 is likely to miss the start of the season with an injury, Alvarez might be a risk worth taking!

Alvarez Pre-Season Form:

Alvarez played 45 minutes in Man City’s first pre-season game and bagged a goal and assist vs Yokohama F Marinos. Track all pre-season games on our pre-season tracker

John McAtee makes the squad as the £4.5 bench fodder. He is likely to feature in most of the games. Managers can expect a 1 or 2-pointer week in and week out.
