• 19 July: Arsenal 5 – 0 MLS All-Stars(Goals: Jesus, Trossard, Martinelli, Havertz, Jorginho(Pen). Assists: Saka(2), Odegaard, Marquihos). Jorghinho took the penalty when Saka was not on the pitch.
• Arsenal 0 – 2 Man Utd
• Arsenal 5 – 3 Barcelona (Goals: Trossard(2), Saka, Vieira, Havertz. Assists: Odegaard, Jesus, Tierney), Saka missed a penalty in this game.
• Arsenal 1 – 1 Monaco (Goal: Nketiah. Assist: Martinelli(From a corner)). Arsenal won the penalties 5-4 after FT to win the Emirates Cup

Key Notes from Arsenal Pre-Season

• Jesus ruled with a knee problem and will be out for a few weeks
• Saka missed a penalty in one of the friendlies(vs Barcelona)
• Gabriel has played the most minutes(371 minutes) for Arsenal in this pre-season
• Saka was on the bench vs Monaco and did not feature due to illness.
• Martinelli missed the first two games as he was recovering from the injury which ruled him out towards the end of last season

Key Notes from Aston Villa Pre-Season

• Watkins scored one penalty and missed one penalty in pre-season
• Alex Moreno is expected to be back only in September
• Aston Villa are playing in a three-at-the-back strategy and the full-back having the license to go forward and occupy attacking postions in a 3-5-2. Basically, Konsa played as an RB in one game which allowed the full-back Digne to go forward on the Left-wing. Against Brentford, Pau Torres played as the LB which allowed the fullback Cash to forward in the right wing. Remains to be seen if which full-back will benefit from this or if will it be decided based on opponents

Crystal Palace Pre-Season Key Notes:

• Ahamada might not be a nailed starter at 4.5 million after missing out on the 11 against Sevilla in what looked like a strong 11
• Eze the talisman and is on all set piece duties for Palace
• Johnstone is the first-choice goalkeeper for Palace
• The signing of Lerma from Bournemouth means Lerma will partner Doucoure in midfield and both are defensive-minded midfielders which gives Eze more freedom to take attacking postions.
• Eze’s returns has been amazing in pre-season but he got 1 goal + 3 assists in one game vs Barnet which needs to be noted!

Liverpool Pre-Season Key Notes:

• Last season, Henderson was drifting to the right flank and holding the width which allowed TAA to go forward last season since the formation change. Hendo’s replacement Mac Allister isn’t doing that and this has made Salah to stay wide and hold width. Salah’s high volume of assists is partly due to this.
• Liverpool’s defence also looks shaky conceding 9 goals in 4 pre-season games which doesn’t bode well for TAA from an FPL perspective
• Darwin was seemingly looking nailed in Liverpool’s 11 but he did not start vs Bayern and Darmstadt in what was a strong lineup and he might not be a regular starter going into the new season
• Szoboszlai should take some set pieces off TAA
