With the FPL GW28 Deadline approaching, we look to the Bookmakers and Prediction Models to give us an idea of which teams and players are expected to haul. A lot can be drawn from these probability and prediction models if we are able to break them down. In this article, we will perform the analysis on a team level as well as a player level by taking a deeper look at the FPL GW28 Odds.

FPL GW28 Odds Preview
Teams with Haul Potential in FPL GW28
Arsenal (42%)
After coming off a comprehensive 3-0 victory away at Fulham, Arsenal restored their 5-point cushion at the top of the league table and they face Crystal Palace at the Emirates in GW28. The bookies have given them the highest odds this week (42%) to score more than 2 goals against the Eagles. Arsenal have scored 29 goals since the restart, which is the best in the league post World Cup. We would fully expect the Gunners to thrive at home against a Palace side that have really been struggling for results.
Chelsea (31%) & Aston Villa (29%)
Behind Arsenal, Chelsea and Villa both have a good chance of hauling against their opponents this week and the bookies have given them a 31% chance and a 29% chance respectively. Chelsea are starting to string a good run of results together and are fresh off a 3-1 win against Everton, their biggest win post World Cup. As for Aston Villa, they are on somewhat of a purple patch, with 2 wins and 1 draw in their last 3 games. Ollie Watkins has also shown remarkable consistency of late, with 6 goals in his last 7 games. With the form he’s in at the moment, we would not put it past Villa to do well this weekend against Bournemouth.
Teams Predicted to Keep Clean Sheet in FPL GW28
Arsenal (58%)
Unsurprisingly this week, Arsenal tops the Clean Sheet Odds metric. They face a Palace side that has not even managed a shot on target in their last 3 Premier League games. Their attacking problems are not helped at all by the fact that Arsenal’s defensive home form is one of the best in the league this season.
Chelsea (56%) & Newcastle (48%)
Close behind the Gunners are Chelsea at 58% and Newcastle at 48%. Chelsea’s underlying defensive numbers have still been relatively good despite conceding in a couple of their recent games. Bookies believe that the numbers will catch up with their defensive performances and that a clean sheet is on the horizon for the Blues this week against Everton. Newcastle, on the other hand, face Nottingham Forest away. Forest have shown good home form in their last few home games, with Brennan Johnson picking up a good number of goals at the City Ground. Though it may not be a straightforward game for Newcastle, the bookies still believe that they should be able to hold out for a clean sheet this week.
FPL GW28 Predicted Points
Harry Kane (6.4 PP)
Arguably the most consistent performer in the Premier League this season, Harry Kane tops the predicted points this week as he faces Southampton away. Though Spurs themselves have had quite a topsy turvy season, there is nothing more reliable than Kane getting FPL returns. Scoring points regardless of whether Spurs win or lose, Kane has managed a whopping 20 goals this season, second only to Haaland. Based on DraftHound’s prediction tool, the Spurs talisman has been given the highest predicted points this week – 6.4 PP, making him a standout captaincy option.
Saka (6.3 PP) & Martinelli (6.3 PP)
Arsenal midfielders follow closely behind Kane, with Saka and Martinelli both given 6.3 Predicted Points. Martinelli has been on a hot run of FPL returns recently, beating all other FPL assets for returns in the last 4 gameweeks (42 points), and he’s expected to keep this up against a struggling Palace side. As for Saka, the threat of set pieces as well as being Arsenal’s designated penalty taker, contributes to his predicted points and he’s backed to score well this coming gameweek too.
