FPL Defenders Analysis(GW1- GW19)
Expected Goal Involvement per 90 mins
- Perisic – 0.37
- Trippier – 0.33
- Trent – 0.33
Key Takeaways:
- Premium defenders- Perisic, Trippier, Trent, Robertson, James Top 5 for xGI/90. Perisic has 5 FPL assist to his name but could have had more.
- Trippier is hands down the Best Defender this season- Top for Chances created(47), Big chances created(13), Expected Assists(5.21) this season. To add to it, his 12 clean sheets from 18 games makes him the Highest Scoring FPL Defender this season.
- Spurs have one cleansheet from last 8 games conceding 15 goals in the process. But Dohery/Perisic have good attacking threat and could be good options for Double Gameweek 20.
- Cancelo is 15th for xGI(0.17) among defenders and has played only 67 minutes across 3 games since the World Cup. To put things into context Cancelo had an xGI of 0.33 last season– Double the number from this season. With emergence of Rico Lewis and all other full backs fit, Cancelo could be a sell even with DGW20.
