Best UCL Fantasy MD3 Captaincy Options for Day 1 & Day 2

Club football is back after the international break and in this article, I will take a look through the best captaincy options on day 1 and day 2 of UCL Fantasy MD3. I will also reveal my wildcard draft at the end.

Best UCL Fantasy Captaincy Options for MD3

Day 1 – 4th October

Best Team to Target – Bayern Munich vs FC Viktoria Plzeň(H)

Bayern smashed Leverkusen 4-0 in their last outing and have had a great start to the UCL season beating both Inter and Barcelona. Plzen will be a good fixture to target as they conceded 7 goals in the first 2 fixtures and lost both matches.

1 – Sadio Mane : 10.5m

Mane scored this weekend and even though he does not have any goals in the UCL I expect that to change soon. He ended his goal drought after having a great start to the season in the league and his performances should only go up from here. Mane is also the first-choice penalty taker.

2. Leroy Sane: 9.1m

Even Sane scored this weekend in the league and he has taken off in the last UCL where he left last season. He is the 2nd highest point scorer in the game right now after bagging 2 goals and an assist in the opening two fixtures.

Other UCL MD3 Captaincy options for Day 1 :

3. Mo Salah : 11m / Luiz Diaz : 9m vs Rangers (H)

Liverpool have not been great recently and their assets have certainly lost their appeal. Despite this, you can expect The Reds to put a few past Rangers given the quality of players they have. They face a rangers side who have lost both their fixtures and conceded 7 goals.

UCL Fantasy MD3 Captaincy – Day Two: Wed, 5th October

Best Teams to Target

• Manchester City,
• Real Madrid,
• PSG

Manchester City – City have been on fire this season and are scoring goals for fun. They have scored 4 or more goals in 4/8 league matches so far and face Copenhagen who are 9th in their league currently and have conceded 17 goals in 9 games.

1. Erling Haaland : 11.1m vs Copenhagen (H)

Haaland is City’s talisman and is in sensational form right now. He has 3 goals in the UCL and 14 in 9 games in the league. These numbers can not be ignored and Haaland is the standout captaincy pick on this day. Kevin De Bruyne (10.5m) is a good differential option if you don’t want to place the armband on the Norwegian striker. KDB has picked up the Man of the Match award in both the fixtures with 2 assists. In the league, he is in fine form too scoring 1 goal and assisting 8.

2. Mbappe/ Neymar / Messi : vs Benfica (A)

It’s tough to pick from one of the PSG forwards as all of them have been firing in the league.

• Mbappé (11.1m) has 8 goals in Ligue 1 and 3 goals in the UCL
• Neymar (10m) has a whopping 8 goals and 7 assists in Ligue 1; 2 goals and 1 assist in the UCL
• Messi (10.5m) has 5 goals and 7 assists domestically; with 1 goal and 1 assist in the UCL so far

Even though Benfica are on top of their domestic league and are a good defensive side, PSG are favourites and should score a few over the 2 games.

3. Vinícius Junior : 10m vs Shakhtar Donestsk (H)

Even though it is hard to look past Haaland and the PSG forwards, Vinicius is a good differential captain. His finishing boots are on right now with 5 goals in 7 league games and a goal and assist in the opening 2 fixtures. With favorable fixtures after Shakhtar, Vinicius can be a long-term hold in the team.
