FPL GW14 Scout Picks

FPL GW14 Scout Picks- Goalkeeper

Brentford have been a mixed bag and an unpredictable team this season. But, at home, they have just conceded 6 goals from 6 games with 3 clean sheets. compared to away where they have conceded 15 goals from 6 games with just one clean sheet. Since GW5, Wolves have only scored 2 non-penalty goals(lowest in the league) which suggests that there is a Raya clean sheet up for taking in GW14.

FPL GW14 Scout Picks- Defenders

Trippier has become one of the best assets this season and is the highest-scoring defender with 66 points, Newcastle at home are a difficult team to play and it will be a tough test for Aston Villa. It wouldn’t be surprising if Trippier bags a clean sheet and an attacking return. At home Trippier is averaging 7 points a game, scoring 42 points in 6 home games so far this season.

Dalot is our second defensive option in this week’s scout picks, Manchester United have had the best defense in the league in the last four GWs, in terms of NPxGA. Erik Ten Hag’s men have also conceded the fewest big chances(4) in that time, one of it being a penalty. Only Manchester City have allowed fewer shots on target in the aforementioned time period.

Ben White got his second assist of the season in GW13 and is once again having a great matchup against Forest who are 3rd for chances conceded from Left Flank(50) and 2nd for crosses conceded from the Left flank(142) this season.

FPL GW14 Scout Picks- Midfielders

One of the main attacking options in midfield who’s not been heavily talked about is Rashford. Since GW6, Rashford is top for big chances(6) and 3rd for nPxG(2.9) among midfielders. 51% of West Ham’s chances have come through the middle where Rashford operates which makes it an interesting matchup for him.

Saka was not amongst the attacking returns last week after a lot of managers transferred him in. However, GW14 offers Saka a great fixture against Forest to be back amongst the goals/assists. Saka was also only a substitute against PSV on Thursday in the Europa League which means he’s well-rested for the forest game. As mentioned above for White, Forest concede a lot of chances/crosses from the left flank where Saka operates.

Mo Salah blanked last week much to the disappointment of managers but in GW14 both Salah and Liverpool are up against one of their favorite opponents, Leeds United. In the last two games against Leeds at Anfield, Liverpool have scored 10 goals out of which Salah has bagged 5 goals. Liverpool have a 91% chance of scoring at least one goal and a 55% chance of 2+ goals this week(Both the joint highest team odds this week). Leeds have a few injury problems as well which doesn’t help their cause.

FPL GW14 Scout Picks- Forwards

Darwin missed out in GW13 due to a minor injury and his absence was felt as Liverpool stumbled to a 1-0 defeat to Forest. However, he made his return in a 3-0 win over Ajax and also scored. Over the last five games, his p/90 numbers are much higher when compared to the other Liverpool attackers and in GW14 he’ll once again be getting the best chances.

Toney has been the most consistent forwards this season and is up against a struggling Wolves side who conceded 4 goals to Leicester last week. Since GW9, Toney has the fourth-best xG amongst all forwards and has bagged three goals.

Haaland is the final option in the scout picks this week, with Pep refusing to give a clear update on his fitness, we are assuming he would start. The upside of him starting is huge as he could haul big against Leicester.
