FPL Gameweek 11 Transfer Tips: Two Players to Buy, Hold and Sell

Gameweek 11 presents an interesting week for FPL managers. Alexander-Arnold is injured and likely out for 2 weeks ie possibly 3-4 PL games. Popular assets Mitrovic and Reece James are currently flagged and have good fixtures on the horizon, fitness updates on the duo could make a big difference to transfer plans. Add in the caveat that Manchester City and Arsenal have been the 2 best teams in the league uptil this point but both blank in GW12 – Even though I’m making suggestions for players you could buy or sell, I’d definitely recommend saving a transfer if you could and taking it into GW12 where we’re likely to need our full 15 man squad to put out a playing XI. We’re also likely looking at players just for a small 6 GW window with the world cup break bringing unlimited transfers. With that said, here are this week’s recommendations

FPL Gameweek 11 Transfer Tips: Two players to BUY

1) Gianluca Scamacca (6.7, West Ham, FWD)

FPL Gameweek 11 Transfer Tips: Two players to BUY ~ Gianluca Scamacca (6.7, West Ham, FWD)

West Ham’s Italian striker seems to have finally displaced Michail Antonio from the West Ham first team and now has back-to-back goals in back-to-back starts. He put up a very impressive xG of 1.02 in his last outing against Fulham coming from 5 shots. He could be a cheeky differential incase Mitrovic is ruled out and has 3 strong fixtures on the horizon in Southampton, a defensively out-of-sorts Liverpool and Bournemouth.

While he’s not on penalties and he isn’t in my top 3 options in the forward positions currently, he certainly has the fixtures and ability to provide an excellent differential boost in the short 6 gameweek period before the world cup break.

2) Kepa Arrizabalaga (4.4, Chelsea, GK)

FPL Gameweek 11 Transfer Tips: Two players to BUY ~ Kepa Arrizabalaga (4.4, Chelsea, GK)

Very rarely would I include a goalkeeper as a ‘Buy’ suggestion but with recently advised players like Zaha, Bowen, Maddison and Trossard all still viable – I’ve decided to add another name rather than be repetitive. Kepa seems to have wrestled the number 1 jersey away from Mendy for the timebeing under Graham Potter and he now has 3 clean sheets in 4 appearances. Chelsea’s defense under Potter looks reasonably strong but if Reece James is missing some games through injury and the risk of rotation looms on all of Chilwell, Cucurella, Silva and Koulibaly – Kepa could be an astute pickup.

FPL Gameweek 11 Transfer Tips: Two players to HOLD

1) Phil Foden (8.2, Manchester City, MID)

FPL Gameweek 11 Transfer Tips: Two players to HOLD ~ Phil Foden (8.2, Manchester City, MID)

Phil Foden is a very easy-hold suggestion. He’s actually a borderline ‘BUY’ recommendation from me and the only reason he’s even being considered for a ‘HOLD’ is a GW12 blank after facing Liverpool at Anfield in GW11. FPL Managers with even a full playing bench may be holding 4 or more combined City and Arsenal assets making it a decision for which one to sell. There’s value tied up in Haaland and Martinelli and both are amazing assets till the World Cup break so it might boil down to choosing between Foden or Cancelo for a sale (or play 10). Foden is tempting to sell because other 7-8m assets like Maddison, Bowen and Zaha are doing well while Mason Mount looks to be back to his best under Graham Potter. However, With City being the best attack in the league by a margin and Foden looking convincingly ‘first team’ plus having struck up an understanding with Haaland such that the Norweigian Machine is even laying on assists for him, I’d be very comfortable to hold onto Foden through LIV (A) and Blank.

2) Ivan Perisic (5.5, Tottenham Hotspur, DEF)

FPL Gameweek 11 Transfer Tips: Two players to HOLD ~ Ivan Perisic (5.5, Tottenham Hotspur, DEF)

Perisic failed to start the last PL game for Spurs but I’d suggest owners keep the faith. The Croat didn’t start the midweek Champions League game either and is now strongly likely to start the next PL game against Everton while also boosting his chances of grabbing 2 starts in the next 3 games that are in the span of a week. With injury issues elsewhere and a transfer dilemma to hop off and back on City/Arsenal assets, Perisic owners shouldn’t worry too much and just leave him in.

FPL Gameweek 11 Transfer Tips: Two players to SELL

A fair few injuries this week and it goes without saying that those would be your target transfers out including Luis Diaz, Alexander-Arnold, Joel Matip and keep an eye on an update on Reece James.

Reece James Update:

Reece James is likely to miss Sunday’s trip to Aston Villa but it is hoped he will be back next week in time to face either Brentford on Wednesday or Manchester United on Saturday.

I’d strongly suggest you move out one of the above if you own or save your free transfer. Still, for the sake of completion, here are my two ‘SELL’s’ for the week

1) David Raya (4.5, Brentford, GK)/Aaron Ramsdale (4.9, Arsenal, GK)

FPL Gameweek 11 Transfer Tips: Two players to SELL ~ David Raya (4.5, Brentford, GK)/Aaron Ramsdale (4.9, Arsenal, GK)

If I recommend buying a goalkeeper, it only seemed sensible to suggest who to sell in that move.

Brentford have looked poor defensively and their fixtures stiffen from a defensive point-of-view from now till the World Cup.

Arsenal have done well away but struggled for clean sheets at home. Ramsdale’s saves have dried up compared to last season and with that, so has his bonus potential. With a blank also upcoming, its a good time to move him on.

2) Bernardo Silva (7.0, MID, Manchester City)

FPL Gameweek 11 Transfer Tips: Two players to SELL ~ Bernardo Silva (7.0, MID, Manchester City)

As mentioned lots of times before, City’s next two fixtures are Liverpool away followed by a blank and we’re going to need a playing XI in the week that they blank, without having to sell Haaland or Martinelli/Saka. Bernardo might be the 7th highest-scoring midfielder in the game and have 11% ownership at the time of writing but not only do I think that there’s great midfielders in that price range like Zaha and Trossard, I also think the 3 City spots are vital and are better used on Haaland plus 2 from Cancelo, KDB and Foden.
