Welcome back to the Transfer Trends, Best Transfer Combinations and FPL GW6 Tips. Due to a quick turnaround in the midweek, we couldn’t cover the blog for GW5. However, we are back with the blog, with slightly more than a day to go before the deadline. Let’s take a look at how the FPL transfer market is moving prior to the GW6 deadline.

FPL GW6 Tips | Transfer Deadline

Top Transfer Ins and Outs ahead of FPL GW 6
The most popular transfer a few days ago is now at the top of the Transfers out list ahead of GW 6. The Brazilian dislocated his shoulder in GW5 against Everton and was subbed off at 31 minutes. He is suspected to be out for at least four gameweeks, thereby justifying 750k managers transferring him out already.
To no surprise, Haaland can be seen with the most transfer INs with around 449k managers transferring him in. The Norweigian literally took the league by storm, scoring 9 and assisting 1 in his first month of the PL.
Other players like Gross, Zaha and Mitrovic – also appear on the Top Transfers In ahead of this week. They all have great upcoming fixtures with decent enough underlying numbers to get them in your teams. On the other hand, managers seem frustrated by Pep Guardiola benching KDB, and James missing out in GW5 due to a knock in training.
FPL GW6 Tips – Best Transfer Combinations
Transfer Combination 1:
Rodrigo (6.5m) to Gross (5.9m)
The transfer combination from Rodrigo to Pascal Gross – seems to be the simplest yet best transfer combination ahead of GW6. It’s an easy switch from Rodrigo who is expected to be out for at least 4 Gameweeks to an in-form player, who also has amazing fixtures over the next few weeks.
Brighton as a team have been very impressive this season going forward. They have the 4th highest xG in the league, above teams like Arsenal and Spurs. Also, for Big Chances, they are ranked just behind Man City, Brentford and Liverpool. These are unreal numbers, posted by Graham Potter’s XI in the first five weeks. With Leicester, Bournemouth and Palace as their next three fixtures, Pascal Gross at 20% ownership, seems to be a decent differential to get in your teams.

Gross has the highest xA amongst all the midfielders who come under the 7.5m bracket and 5th for xG in the same. He has scored 3 goals out of a total of 7 shots he has taken this season. Also at 0.6 Big Chances Created every 90 minutes, he is ranked 4th among the same criteria. Moreover, he is also on the set pieces, which comes as an added benefit. Also, Gross is registered as a midfielder in the game but has been playing as an OOP (Out-of Position) forward at times.

Gross can be seen attacking from the Right forward side, along with Danny Welbeck. Brighton play a classic 4-4-2 formation, where the two forwards are Danny Welbeck at left and Pascal Gross at right. Also, He has scored all his goals from inside the box, and most of the shots are also taken from inside the box as well.

The table below looks at the defensive numbers of Brighton’s next three fixtures, and where they are ranked, in the league in respective stats.

Other than Leicester, the other two teams are mostly ranked in the bottom half for most of the aspects. Even Leicester are in poor form right now, which is not being depicted by the numbers here. Palace’s defensive numbers are abysmal and are easily the most favourable fixture for Brighton to play against out of the three. In the two of Brighton’s next three fixtures, Bournemouth and Leicester have conceded the most number of goals over the five weeks.

Transfer Combination 2:
Zinchenko (5.2m) to Trippier (5.1m)
Arteta on team news: On Ramsdale and Odegaard: “They are being assessed. We will see more tomorrow. Hopefully they will be able to train with the team.” On Zinchenko: “With Alex, unfortunately he hasn’t been able to train with team.”
The second best transfer combination ahead of FPL GW6 is Zinchenko to Trippier. Zinchenko missed out on the previous two games and his return is still uncertain. Due to this, 249k managers have already transferred the Arsenal full-back out. If you are looking for his replacement in the market, then Trippier should be the one to go for. As predicted, he started the season with a bang and Newcastle have also been performing well defensively. With Newcastle’s fixture run looking favourable, he can fetch managers a lot of points.
The other clear option in defence was Spurs’ Ivan Perisic. However, with Spurs having European commitment, and such a short turnaround in between games, it is less likely that Perisic starts all the games. On the other hand, Newcastle don’t have any European commitments, thereby making him a somewhat rotation-proof asset.
The Magpies have decent defensive numbers in the league. They are ranked 7th in the list of least shots conceded so far and are in the top half for least xG conceded. Moreover, Newcastle wasn’t easy to beat at all against Liverpool. They put up an amazing competitive performance, where Liverpool has to struggle till the end for the winner. Newcastle as a team had a total of 184 interceptions and 24 blocks so far.

Tripper has decent underlying numbers going forward. So far this season, he has scored one goal and got 2 clean sheet points. For the price, he is an amazing reliable asset to own. Moreover, he is also on set pieces and also is an incredible set piece taker, which we all have witnessed in his time at Spurs and for England’s national team.

As Newcastle’s right back, he has been covering the whole flank and has been involved a lot in their attack. He usually takes a wider role in the team. Zinchenko can be seen coming more in central areas instead.
Fixtures | Newcastle
Newcastle have unreal fixtures all the way up until GW12, where the only difficult fixture is against United in GW11. Before that, they face Palace and Bournemouth have poor defensive numbers (as we covered earlier in the blog), and West Ham who are in poor form right now. Therefore, Newcastle’s Trippier is the clear option to replace Zinchenko right now.

Transfer Combination 3:
Ramsdale (5.0m) to Sanchez (4.7m)
Arteta on team news: On Ramsdale and Odegaard: “They are being assessed. We will see more tomorrow. Hopefully, they will be able to train with the team.” On Zinchenko: “With Alex, unfortunately, he hasn’t been able to train with team.”
The third best transfer combination comes out to be a different one this week. Aaron Ramsdale picked up an injury in the 2-1 win against Villa, and they go on to face Man United on Sunday as well. Therefore, making a keeper transfer isn’t the worst move to make this week. Removing Ramsdale for the likes of Brighton’s keeper, Sanchez could be worth a FT. Especially, if you already have used the Wildcard, or not planning to use it in the near future, this move could fetch you a lot of points.
Moreover, this move also frees up 0.3m in your team which could be used to deal with the robust price rises that have been occurring in the game this season.
Sanchez has just blanked in one game out of five this season and scored a total of 27 points already. He had undergone two price rises as well, to 4.7m indicating that managers are keen on transferring him in.
Underlying Numbers | Sanchez
Sanchez has a total of 151 passes this season so far, which is 4th highest among keepers in the league, with a success rate of more than 50 per cent. He also has 7th highest touches among the keepers, at 38.8 touches per 90 minutes. He also averages 2.6 saves every 90 minutes. All this racks up his BPS giving him a higher chance to earn more Bonus Points.
Fixtures | Brighton
If you are transferring in a keeper, he should not have a difficult run of fixtures, for at least 6-7 weeks, so that you don’t have to remove him unless on a wildcard. Brighton’s run seems to be perfect in that sense, where he could also get a lot of clean sheets and save points.

Conclusion – FPL GW6 Tips
- Another good but not a direct replacement for Rodrigo is Fulham’s forward, Aleksandar Mitrovic.
- There are a lot of mid-priced midfielder options to go for in the game – Martinelli, Gundogan, Zaha, Gross – to jump on right now.
- Give Ivan Toney a few more weeks before removing him. Brentford still have good fixtures, and after 2 weeks you could make the switch to Mitrovic.
- Look at Neco Williams as a starting option in your team, he has 3 amazing fixtures back to back – BOU, LEE and FUL.
- Wildcard in GW6 is not a bad option which should be given a thought.
