FPL GW27 Top Transfer Ins And Outs | Transfer Trends & Combinations

Welcome to FPL GW27 Transfer Trends! This is a weekly series where we take a bit of time to analyze some of the major transfer trends on FPL prior to the deadline.

It was a case of playing the wildcard or triple captain chip in DGW26. There were some crazy scores, with key differentials either boosting or wrecking rank in the form of Spurs assets. An extremely crazy safety score meant non-chip players were left in the dust. A high scoring double gameweek overall!

This week, we can see the transfer trends show people buying players from Burnley, Liverpool, Tottenham, and Southampton. The top 5 transfers OUT come from Liverpool, Newcastle, West Ham, Tottenham, and Chelsea.

Fernandes (12 points) to Salah (28 points) ✅ 🤯

Reguilon (0 points) to Robertson (13 points) ✅

Ronaldo (1 point) to Lacazette (5 points*) ✅

Some amazing returns for DGW26! Salah blowing everyone out of the park! Onto GW27!

*At the time of writing, Arsenal still have to play their second fixture against Wolves.

FPL GW27 Transfer Trends ~ Most transferred in and transferred out players

Jota leads the list of top transfers out this gameweek, with 255k managers continuing to ship him out. Saint-Maximin follows, with 82k managers looking elsewhere for forward options. Antonio once again sees another 71k managers have enough of his consistent blanks.

Reguilon’s contraction of COVID sees 64k managers transfer him out, and, finally, Chelsea’s Mason Mount sees 63k managers look elsewhere for midfield options.

On the flip side, Burnley forward Weghorst makes it to the top of the transfers in list, with 134k managers bringing him in after his stellar Double Gameweek performance. Despite blanking in GW27, Salah is brought in by 107k managers after an absolutely massive Double Gameweek haul.

Son comes third with 102k managers impressed with his 2 assists against City. Southampton’s Ward-Prowse is brought in by 78k managers ahead of the Saint’s fixture against Norwich. Finally, Kane makes the fifth and final spot on the top transfers in list, with 74k managers eager to start him against Leeds.

The 3 transfer combinations we will be focusing on are: King to Weghorst, Jota to Son, and Edouard to Kane.

FPL GW27 Transfer Combination 1:

Joshua King (£5.9) to Wout Weghorst (£6.5)

FPL GW27 Transfer Trends ~ King to Weghorst
Burnley’s fixtures from GW27-33

Despite having a decent set of Double Gameweek fixtures, King has blanked for the 8th time in a row. It’s no surprise that he is being shipped out, especially after teammate Dennis hauled in DGW26. 12.8% of managers are now turning their sights to new Burnley budget forward Weghorst.

Weghorst emerged from Double Gameweek 26 with a goal and an assist, scoring a total of 14 points inclusive of appearance points. Given Burnley are the only team to double in GW27, he is arguably the standout pick in the attack.

Since GW23, Weghorst has registered 10 shots, 3 on target, 7 in the box, 15 touches in the box, with an xG of 0.83. He was unlucky not to register a goal against United, and, according to the eye-test, he is a player who is dangerous, especially on set-pieces given his height.

For those looking for a budget forward, Weghorst would be the best bet, especially when trying to target Burnley’s double in GW27.

Who do Burnley face in GW27?

Burnley play Crystal Palace away and Leicester at home in GW27. Palace are 3rd worst for big chances conceded (13) in the last 5 gameweeks. With an xGC of 1.36, this is a game that Burnley could take advantage of.

Leicester continue to remain one of the most defensively weaker teams in the league, with a total of 82 shots conceded, 53 shot in the box conceded, 16 big chances conceded (2nd), all in the last 5 gameweeks alone! They have the second highest xGC of 2.2.

A great double for Burnley and Weghorst to target!

Leicester have the second highest xGC among all teams in the last 5 Gameweeks (2.2).

FPL GW27 Transfer Combination 2:

Diogo Jota (£8.4) to Heung-Min Son (£10.8)

FPL GW27 Transfer Trends ~ Jota to Son
Spurs’ fixtures from GW27-33

Jota’s injury prompted many managers to sell him as Liverpool head into their Double Gameweek in 26. 24.4% of managers make the change from Jota to Spurs midfielder Son.

The Spurs duo of Son and Kane were definitely huge differentials, as many overlooked them to target Liverpool assets. Those who owned the duo were rewarded with a boost in rank, while those who didn’t saw a lot of threat to their OR.

Son rewarded owners with 2 assists in Tottenham’s 3-2 win against City. In the last 5 gameweeks, Son registered 8 shots, 7 in the box, with an xGoal Involvement of 2.4. He also has 10 key passes during that time. His creative factor is boosted by his duty on set-pieces.

While Spurs have started off shaky with the arrival of Conte, we could see the team begin to gel together and find their chemistry and stride. As they begin to show glimpses of form, Son and Kane could be great picks from the Spurs side.

Who do Spurs face in GW27?

Spurs play Leeds away in GW27. Leeds continue to be leaky in defense, conceding 10 goals in Double Gameweek 26 alone. In the last 5 gameweeks, they are worst for shots on target conceded (48) and big chances conceded (24). They are 2nd worst for total shots conceded (109) and shots in the box conceded (69). They have the highest xGC of 2.36.

Tottenham, Son and Kane should look to capitalise on this fixture. Additionally, Spurs have a double gameweek in GW29. They are great long-term picks, especially if the team begins to build better chemistry together.

Leeds have conceded the most big chances in the last 5 gameweeks (24).

FPL GW27 Transfer Combination 3:

Odsonne Edouard (£6.6) to Harry Kane (£12.2)

FPL GW27 Transfer Trends ~ Edouard to kane
Spurs’ fixtures from GW27-33

Edouard’s 3rd consecutive blank has prompted 15.6% managers to make the upgrade to Spurs premium forward Harry Kane.

Kane was another rank-killing asset for those who did not own him, after scoring two goals against City and picking up a total of 15 points in Double Gameweek 26. We’ve been seeing glimpses of this potential in the previous few gameweeks, but nothing materialised up until now.

In the last 5 gameweeks, no other forward comes close to Kane for total shots taken (30), shots on target (12), shots in the box (16), and touches in the box (46).

As mentioned under Son’s column, Kane is up against a Leeds side who are very poor defensively. This should be a game that Spurs look to run riot against. Should be a great fixture for Kane.

That has been 3 potential transfer combinations that FPL managers could consider prior to the Gameweek 27 deadline. Hope this blog provided a bit of insight on viable FPL moves you could take!
