2020/21 Premier League Team by Team Goal Contributions So far this Season

This blog is written by @fplmentor
In continuation from the ‘Team by team goal contributions’ write up that I shared during pre-season, I thought it would be interesting to re-visit and monitor this for the season so far.

Given we only have a small sample size of 7 or 8 games at the time of writing, it’s likely that these numbers will fluctuate throughout the duration of the season. The idea is to get some further insight into the teams that rely heavily on a particular player. I plan to revisit and present this data over 4 stages of the season, and after some thought, I have decided to go with GW8, GW16, GW24 & GW32.

I will take into consideration the number of goals scored by a team, and then identify the player(s) within the team who have the most goals or assists. I won’t be taking into consideration the number of minutes of game time for individual players, so this is a broad overview of the players who are proving to be the highest contributors for their club.

In short, I’ve combined each player’s goal total with the number of assists they accumulated over the opening 7 or 8 games of the season and calculated the percentage of goals they were involved in. Please note that Aston Villa, Burnley, Man City, and Man Utd all have an asterisk next to them, as they have only played 7 matches as opposed to 8.
