FPL GW4 has quite a decent number of captaincy options with Arsenal, Spurs, Liverpool, and Man City having good fixtures. 3 out of those 4 teams mentioned are also playing at home which is an added advantage. Salah continued is the standout option this week vs Bournemouth with 60% of the votes. Jesus is the second most popular option with 18% votes, and Haaland is third with 8% votes. Kane and KDB complete the top five with 4% and 3% votes respectively. The five players going into the metrics this week are Salah, Jesus, Haaland, Kane, and KDB.

Haaland and Jesus top the shots in the box from the first three games with 10 shots inside the box. Kane is third with 8 shots on goal. Salah has registered 7 from the box and KDB is the last with 4 shots inside the box. Surprisingly Salah(13) has created more chances than KDB(12). Haaland dominates the big chances column with 7 big chances in three games, the next highest is Jesus and Kane who have 3 big chances each. A lot of big chances means Haaland dominates the xG(2.49) too, Jesus is not far behind with an xG of 2.12.

Liverpool have had the most shots inside the box with 40 but their xG is 4.65 which means a lot of them were low xG ones. Man City have had 35 shots and an xG of 6.09 with 13 big chances which explains the superior xG. Arsenal attack is putting up numbers similar to Man City with 10 big chances and an xG of 5.27. Spurs are the team that slightly lags here with the other teams with an xG of 4.24.

Liverpool absolutely dominates the CS odds this week with a 94% chance of scoring one goal and 65% chance of scoring 2+ goals. Man City aren’t far behind with a 92% chance of scoring one goal and 58% chance of scoring 2+ goals. Arsenal odds are good too with 90% odds of one goal and 50% odds of 2.5+ goals. Three teams have 50% + odds of scoring 2+ goals which indicate to the gameweek being a high scoring one.

Projections Rank of our FPL Gameweek 4 Captain Picks

Salah absolutely dominates the projections with a points projection of 9.3. Kane is second with projected points of 7.4. Jesus(6.2) outscores Haaland(5.6) in the projections due to the tricky nature of Haaland’s fixture and his xMins being a slight concern.

Once again Haaland comes out top for the third week running thanks to his individual and Man City attack numbers, Haaland ends up with a cumulative rank factor(CRF) of just 8. Salah is not far behind with a CRF of 10. Jesus and KDB are third with a CRF of 12 while Kane comes last with a CRF of 15. Remember the player with the lowest CRF is the best captaincy option according to our captaincy metrics.
