All Premier League Teams Predicted GW4 Lineups

Arsenal

For the third match in a row, Arsenal went in unchanged. Another convincing performance in their 3-0 victory at Bournemouth should mean that they continue this pattern. That being said, out of all the weeks predicted so far, GW4 is probably the most likely to see some rotation. Three games in the space of a week may mean that one of Saka, Martinelli or Zinchenko may be prone to rotation but I’d expect that to come in midweek rather than against Fulham.

Last week’s success rate: 11/11 (We predicted all 11 starters correctly last week)

Arsenal GW4 Predicted formation:

  • 4-3-3

Arsenal GW4 Predicted lineup:

Ramsdale

White – Saliba – Gabriel – Zinchenko

Xhaka – Partey – Odegaard

Saka – Jesus – Martinelli

PC/Injury update(26/09/22): No fresh injury concerns for Arsenal. Nelson the only one who remains out for the Gunners.

Aston Villa

Once more, Stephen Gerrard decided to make a change to his front 4. On this occasion, Danny Ings dropped out for Emi Buendia despite scoring against Everton in the previous game. Following another disappointing result, I’d expect Ings to come back in. Given that Leon Bailey was among Villa’s more lively players, he could start again with Buendia dropping straight back out.

Last week’s success rate: 10/11 (We predicted 10 starters correctly last week)

Aston Villa GW4 Predicted Formation

  • 4-3-1-2

Aston Villa GW4 Predicted Lineup:

Martinez

Cash – Mings – Konsa – Digne

Kamara – McGinn – Ramsey

Bailey

Ings – Watkins

PC/Injury update(26/09/22): No fresh injury concerns for Villa. Diego Carlos is the only long-term absentee.

Bournemouth

As predicted, Senesi made his first Bournemouth start in the centre of the back three. Although they lost 3-0 to Arsenal, the performance, particularly in the second half, was quite promising. Therefore, most of the team should remain the same.

Ben Pearson played in the absence of Dominik Solanke and is expected to continue if Solanke is not ready.

Last week’s success rate: 10/11 (We predicted 10 starters correctly last week)

Bournemouth GW4 Predicted formation

  • 3-4-3

Bournemouth GW4 Predicted lineup:

Travers

Lerma – Sensei – Kelly

Smith – Lerma – Billing – Zemura

Moore – Pearson – Marcus Tavernier

PC/Injury updates: Solanke will train on Friday and could be an option going into GW4

Brighton

After yet another match in which Graham Potter made no changes, the same could continue for the next match against Leeds next week. The fact that they beat West Ham so comfortably should only increase the possibility of this.

Last week’s success rate: 11/11 (We predicted 11 starters correctly last week)

Brighton GW4 Predicted formation

  • 3-4-1-2

Brighton GW4 Predicted lineup:

Sanchez

Veltman – Webster – Dunk

March – MacAllister – Lallana – Trossard,

Gross – Caicedo

Welbeck

PC/Injury update(26/09/22):

Jakub Moder and Jeremy Sarmiento the only absentees Brighton. Sarmiento a short term issue.

Brentford

Somewhat inexplicably, Thomas Frank decided to revert to a back 4 despite the success the back 3 yielded them against Man United and in the second half against Leicester. A 3-2 defeat to Fulham should mean that the back three is once more deployed.

With Wissa coming under some criticism, he may be the one to drop out.

Last week’s success rate: 10/11 (We predicted 10 starters correctly last week)

Brentford GW4 Predicted formation:

  • 3-4-1-2

Brentford GW4 Predicted lineup:

Raya

Roserlev – Janson – Mee

Hickey – Norgard – Jensen – Henry

Dasilva

Mbeumo – Toney

PC/Injury update(26/09/22):

Ajer is playing for U21 today to build match fitness. Lewis Potter and Roserlev are both available following knocks in midweek. Canos is a few weeks away and Pinnock is a long-term absentee.

Chelsea

A torrid time against Leeds was made worse when Koulibaly was sent off late on. With him missing the next three games, Cucurella may go into the centre of defence with Ben Chilwell playing at left wing back.

Chelsea fans have been frustrated at Reece James’ positioning, with him occupying the right centre-back place. Given that he is arguably Chelsea’s best attacking outlet, I’m going to predict that he starts at right wing-back with Azpi coming into the back three. However, this is purely a hunch, and Tuchel may well persist with James in the back three.

If James does play further forward, Loftus-Cheek could go into the midfield alongside Jorginho, seeing as Conor Gallagher struggled against Leeds.

Last week’s success rate: 9/11 (We predicted 9 starters correctly last week)

Chelsea GW4 Predicted formation:

  • 3-4-1-2

Chelsea GW4 Predicted lineup:

Mendy,

Azpilicueta – Thiago Silva – Cucurella

James – Loftus Cheek – Jorginho – Chilwell

Mount

Sterling – Havertz

PC/Injury update(26/09/22):

Kovacic is back which is a much-needed boost for Chelsea but is expected to play a max of 20 mins. Koulibaily is suspended following a red. Broja is back in training.

Crystal Palace

After playing with a back three against Liverpool, Palace reverted to a back 4. However, given that their next match is against Man City, they may once more go to a back three following the success it brought them previously.

Slightly surprisingly, Joel Ward played at right back at the expense of Nathaniel Clyne. If Viera replicates what he deployed for the Liverpool game, Clyne may play at wing-back with ward going into the back three.

Zaha is out injured so we expect Olise to play. Although the more experienced Ayew could also start.

Last week’s success rate: 9/11 (We predicted 9 starters correctly last week)

Crystal Palace GW4 Predicted Formation

  • 5-2-3

Crystal Palace GW4 Predicted lineup:

Guaita

Clyne – Ward – Guehi – Anderson – Mitchell

Schlupp – Doucoure

Olise – Edouard – Eze

PC/Injury Updates(Friday, 26/09/22):

Zaha is out for Palace with Ferguson, McArthur and Tomkins also remaining in the sidelines.

Everton

Lampard’s most notable selection was that of Tom Davies over Amadu Onana in midfield. After Onana came on and impressed against Villa, it was widely assumed that he would start this time round but he came off the bench once again. I’m assuming it can only be down to match fitness and that he’ll start against Brentford in GW4.

Salomon Rondon also started but was very ineffective so I’d expect Dwight McNeill to come in for him.

Last week’s success rate: 9/11 (We predicted 9 starters correctly last week)

Everton GW4 Predicted formation

  • 3-4-2-1

Everton GW4 Predicted lineup

Pickford

Holgate – Tarkowski – Coady

Paterson – Onana – Iwobi – Mykolenko

Gray – McNeil

Gordon

PC/Injury updates(Friday, 26th August)

Davies is in contention, Doucoure remains out and DCL will train next week according to Frank. Everton are also closing in on Neal Maupay to address their striker worries.

Fulham

Fulham made a single change for the derby against Brentford with youngster Jay Stansfield coming in for Neiskins Kebano who missed the match due to injury. With an assist in his first Premier League start, it’d be harsh for him to be dropped for the next game even if Kebano does return. The rest of the team should remain the same, particularly given how well they have played as a unit in the first three matches.

Last week’s success rate: 9/11 (We predicted 9 starters correctly last week)

Fulham GW4 Predicted formation:

  • 4-2-3-1

Fulham GW4 Predicted lineup:

Leno

Tete -Tosin – Ream – Robinson,

Palhinha – H Reed

B Reid – Andreas – Kebano

Mitrovic

PC/Injury Updates(Friday, 26/09/22):

Kebano needs to be checked rest remain the same. Solomon and Harry Wilson are long term absentees.

“We have to check the situation of Kebano. It is too soon to give you 100% confirmation on him. All the rest are the same.”

Leeds United

Patrick Bamford wasn’t risked in the 3-0 victory over CHELSEA, but he should be back for the fixture with Brighton. Dan James will drop out in all likelihood. Aside from that, such a positive performance should dictate that they remain unchanged.

Last week’s success rate: 11/11 (We predicted all 11 starters correctly last week)

Leeds United GW4 Predicted formation:

  • 4-2-3-1

Leeds United GW4 Predicted lineup:

 Meslier

Kristensen – Llorente – Koch – Struijk

Adams, Roca,

James – Aaronson – Harrison

Rodrigo

PC/Injury updates: Bamford is moving forward but the team performing well means Marsch believes he can be a bit more patient. A call for the weekend is still to be made. If he doesn’t start James/Sinisterra could start.

Leicester City

As predicted, Wesley Fofana was left out after the speculation about him moving to Chelsea grew. Whether or not that move is complete by the time their next match comes round (incidentally against Chelsea) it’s very unlikely that he plays so Amartey should once more partner Evans in the centre of defence.

Youri Tielemans was also left out after he too has been linked with a move. If the possibility of the move is still on, he may be left out for Ayoze Perez again.

Last week’s success rate: 10/11 (We predicted 10 starters correctly last week)

Leicester City GW4 Predicted formation:

  • 4-3-3

Leicester City GW4 Predicted lineup:

Ward

Castagne – Amartey – Evans – Justin

Ndidi – Perez – Dewsbury-Hall – Albrighton

Vardy – Barnes

PC/Injury updates: Maddison is a doubt after he felt a twinge in training(Albrighton could play if he’s out). Rodgers could also go three at the back after the Maddison injury, Soyancu could come in for Perez in that case. Fofana continues to train with the U23s.

Liverpool

For the second match running, James Milner started in the centre of midfield and for the second match running, he seemed off the pace to say the least. It was a huge surprise to see him in the team for the United game, but his performance, and Liverpool’s as a collective, should mean that it’s almost impossible that he start the Bournemouth game.

Joe Gomez came into the back 4 for Nat Phillips and with no news on Joel Matip’s return, he should stay in the side for now.

Last week’s success rate: 10/11 (We predicted 10 starters correctly last week)

Liverpool GW4 Predicted formation

  • 4-3-3

Liverpool GW4 Predicted lineup:

Allison

Alexander Arnold – Van Dijk – Gomez – Robertson

Henderson – Fabinho – Eliott

Salah – Firmino – Diaz

PC/Injury Updates(Friday, 26/09/22):

Klopp says no-one back for Bournemouth but Matip/Jones should be in training after the weekend. Plus…. Thiago “not too far away” Jota “getting closer” from James Pearce

Klopp on Keita: “Naby will not be ready for the weekend. It’s a muscle. It’s not 100% clear.” from James Pearce

Ramsey, Chamberlin, and Konate are obvious long-term absentees.

Manchester City

Pep Roulette was once more out in full force. The most surprising exclusion was that of  Dias who is normally a mainstay in the defence with Stones coming in. However, the injury to Nathan Ake, which brought Dias in mid way through the first half, meant that Dias played the majority of the match anyway.

Mahrez was also left out with Bernardo Silva coming in. Silva should stay in the side now that talk of his exit has died down. Last week I wrongly tipped Foden to be rested after a disappointing outing against Bournemouth. At risk of getting it wrong again, I’m going to predict him to drop out for the fixture against Palace, with Mahrez coming back in.

Last week’s success rate: 9/11 (We predicted 9 starters correctly last week)

Manchester City GW4 Predicted formation

  • 4-2-3-1

Manchester City GW4 Predicted lineup:

Ederson

Walker – Dias -Stones – Cancelo,

Rodri – Gundogan,

B Silva – De Bruyne – Mahrez

Haaland

PC/Injury update(26/09/22):

Pep did not give a squad update and said the team will be accessed after training today. B Silva is not for sale and will not be sold this summer as confirmed by Pep.

Manchester United

United’s result against Liverpool surprised almost everybody, and so did their lineups. Tyrall Malacia came in for Luke Shaw at left back and gave a brilliant account for himself so should retain his place in the side. Harry Maguire was also dropped for Rafael Varane and there’s no reason, after the performance the team put in, for him to come back in against Southampton.

Higher up the pitch, Anthony Elanga, also started the game but was taken off at halftime for his name’s sake Anthony Martial. Martial impressed after coming on so should start through the middle in GW5.

Last week’s success rate: 7/11 (We predicted 7 starters correctly last week)

Manchester United GW4 Predicted formation:

  • 4-2-3-1

Manchester United GW4 Predicted lineup:

De Gea

Dalot – Martinez – Varane – Malacia

Eriksen – Casemiro

Elanga – Bruno – Sancho

Rashford

PC/Injury Updates(Friday, 26/09/22):

Martial has been once again ruled out due to an Achilles injury. Casemiro is set for his debut.

Newcastle United

A fantastic performance from Newcastle United against Man City in GW3 should mean that they remain unchanged unless there are injuries. As it is, Dan Burn sustained a nasty-looking head injury towards the end of the game against City. If he is ruled out with concussion, Matt Targett will come back in at left-back.

Wilson is out so Wood should start or even Isak who was confirmed after Newcastle’s press conference could also debut.

Last week’s success rate: 11/11 (We predicted all 11 starters correctly last week)

Newcastle United GW4 Predicted formation:

  • 4-3-3

Newcastle United GW4 Predicted lineup:

Pope

Trippier – Botman – Schar – Targett

Willock – Guimaraes – Joelinton

Almiron -Wood – Saint-Maximin

PC/Injury Updates(26/09/22):
“We hope Dan Burn and Ryan Fraser will be available. Jamaal Lascelles should be fine. Emil Krafth has a knee problem but until the scan it’s difficult to know what the extent of the injury is.”

Eddie Howe on injuries

“We don’t believe his injury to be serious and we’re hopeful he’ll only be out for a couple of weeks. I back Callum 100%. I’ve known him a long time & I’ve never met someone with a better attitude. I back him – he’s an important part of our future.”

Eddie Howe on Callum Wilson

Nottingham Forest

Steve Cooper has confirmed that Niakhate, who was replaced by Cook for the Everton game, will be out for an extended period of time. Cook can be expected to stay in the side but Forest are chasing another centre back.

Elsewhere, Morgan GibbsWhite wasn’t signed in time for him to start at the weekend, but with the price they paid for him, its difficult to envisage him not going straight into the side. At this stage, its almost impossible to predict who will drop out. Jessie Lingard should continue to start. I predicted Brennan Johnson to be left out against Everton but he started and scored so should retain his place now. As such, it may be Awoniyi to drop out for GibbsWhite but that is purely based on guesswork.

Last week’s success rate: 9/11 (We predicted 9 starters correctly last week)

Nottingham Forest GW4 Predicted formation:

  • 3-4-3

Nottingham Forest GW4 Predicted lineup

Henderson

Worrall – Cook – McKenna

Williams – O’Brien – Mangala – Toffolo

Lingard – Gibbs White – Johnson

Southampton

As we correctly predicted, Jan Bednarek was left out against Leicester in order to facilitate the back 4. Although Seiku Mara was preferred up front to Adams, the latter came on and changed the game so he should be favoured against Man United next week.

Last week’s success rate: 10/11 (We predicted 10 starters correctly last week)

Southampton GW4 Predicted formation

  • 4-2-2-2

Southampton GW4 Predicted lineup:

Bazunu

Walker-Peters – Bella-Kotchap – Salisu – Djenepo

Lavia – Ward Prowse

Aribo – Elyounoussi

Armstrong – Adams

PC/Injury updates: Adams is expected to stay, Perraud is back from injury and will be assessed ahead of the game. Livramento is the only long-term absentee.

Tottenham

Ivan Perisic was handed his first league start in GW3, but Conte alluded to rotation being at play particularly when the schedule is congested. With three matches in the space of 6 days next week, I’d expect Ryan Sessegnon to miss out once again. The pair may well share game time equally when there are matches within three or four days of each other. Spurs play West Ham three days after they play Forest. Perisic will almost certainly be benched in GW5 for the Hammers game.

Cristian Romero also missed out against Wolves following reports that he may be out of action for a while. However, Conte confirmed that he should only miss a game or two. The Nottingham Forest match may come too soon so Davinson Sanchez should deputize again.

It’s a close call regarding Perisic/Sessegnon, watch out for Paul O Keefe’s predicted lineup as he’s very reliable with the Spurs predicted lineup. (Link to his Twitter)

Last week’s success rate: 10/11 (We predicted 10 starters correctly last week)

Spurs GW4 Predicted formation:

  • 3-4-3

Spurs GW4 Predicted lineup:

Lloris

Dier – Sanchez – Davies

Emerson – Bentancur -Hojbjerg – Perisic

Kulusevski – Son -Kane

PC/Injury update(26/09/22):

Romero and Skipp are set to start training next week and are not very long away from a return. Gil and Moura missed training and will be accessed tomorrow.

West Ham

A change in the centre of defence for West Ham with new signing Thilo Kehrer coming in to the side didn’t improve their fortunes as they lost 2-0 to Brighton with Kehrer conceding the penalty which brought about the first goal. He should retain his place though as he performed reasonably well aside from that mishap.

Further forward, both Scamacca and Cornet impressed when they came on and its a matter of time before at least one of them becomes a starter. I’ll hazard a guess that Scamacca comes in for this match with Antonio going out to the wing.

Last week’s success rate: 9/11 (We predicted 9 starters correctly last week)

West Ham GW4 Predicted Formation

  • 4-2-3-1

West Ham GW4 Predicted lineup:

Fabianski

Coufal – Zouma – Kehrer – Cresswell

Rice – Soucek

Bowen – Fornals – Antonio

Scamacca

PC/Injury Updates(Friday, 26/09/22):

No fresh injury concerns after the trip to Viborg for the UECL qualifiers. Scamacca pushing for a start according to Moyes.

Wolves

Both of Wolves’ new signings Nunes and Guedes came into the side for their first starts of the season. With impressive showings from both first time out, they should retain their places. The experiment to play Daniel Podence at centre forward didn’t really work. With Raul Jimenez returning from injury, he should displace Podence in the side. That being said, Pedro Neto has been the subject of transfer speculation with Arsenal heavily linked with him. If the move advances, Podence will likely start instead of Neto but as it stands, he should play.

Last week’s success rate: 10/11 (We predicted 10 starters correctly last week)

Wolves GW4 Predicted formation:

  • 4-3-3

Wolves GW4 Predicted lineup:

Sa

Jonny – Kilman – Collins – AitNouri

Neves – Nunes – Moutinho

Guedes – Jimenez – Neto

PC/Injury Updates(Friday, 26/09/22):

Chiquinho is the only long-term absentee while the rest of the squad are fully training according to Lage.

As we said when predicting the GW3 lineups, there will definitely be some incorrect calls in here, however, we’ll always do our best job with the news we have.
