West Ham | Season So far
Team Stats
West Ham usually play a 4-2-3-1, with Antonio up top, and Bowen on the right, and Fornals on the left. Benraham also started the season in an incredible form, playing at the CAM role. David Moyes has done an excellent job so far , and is expected to continue on this run with a great fixture run ahead. He also showed, in the 3-2 win against Chelsea, that they can play with different formations and tactics.
West ham are ranked 4th in terms of goals scored (28), this season in the PL, and 7th in terms of least Goals Conceded (19). They have an xG/appearance of 1.6, and xGC/appearance of 1.4.

Best FPL Assets to own
*Last 4 Gameweeks*
FPL Points | xG/90 | xA/90 | Shots/SoT
Antonio (7.9m) | 10 | 0.06 | 0.20 | 6 / 1 |
Bowen (6.5m) | 16 | 0.48 | 0.07 | 9 / 3 |
Benrahama (6.0m) | 7 | 0.07 | 0.03 | 2 / 1 |
Coufal (4.7m) | 6 | 0.17 | 0.12 | 4 / 2 |
Cresswell (5.4m) | 4 | 0.01 | 0.05 | 1 / 0 |
Considering the last 4 gameweeks’ stats, Bowen is the stand out option to own from the Irons. Being priced at just 6.5m, he is the perfect mid-priced midfielder to own. Out of his 9 shots, he has taken 7 from inside the box and had 3 Big Chances in last 4 weeks. Antonio witnessed a fall in his from, having only 1 goal in 9 matches. Coufal could get back into the starting XI, with the probability of Johnson being out for a while.
Upcoming Fixtures
West Ham go on a lucrative fixture run all the way till GW 27, where they face only Arsenal and United from the traditional Big 6. They can be a good set and forget over this run, and have put up enough stats to back their performances up.

Burnley | 1.7 | 23.7 | 2.14 | 16.64 | 4.86 |

Crystal Palace | 1.2 | 17.2 | 1.13 | 12.13 | 4.27 |
Their next 6 fixtures have an average xGC/appearance of 1.6. Over this run, West Ham should be able to score 2 or 3 goals past these defences. They face Watford and Norwich, who have the worst defences in the league.

Bowen Vs Other Mid Priced Midfielders
Let’s compare, arguably West Ham’s stand out option, Bowen to other midfielders in the same bracket.
*Last 4 Gameweeks’ Stats*
xG/90 | Shots on Target/90 | xA/90 | Big Chances/90
Bowen (6.5m) | 0.48 | 1.01 | 0.07 | 1.01 |
Gallagher (6.1m) | 0.06 | 0.26 | 0.26 | 0 |
ESR (6.1m) | 0.24 | 0.72 | 0.22 | 0.36 |
Maaddison (6.7m) | 0.45 | 2.30 | 0.39 | 0.45 |
Raphinha (6.7m) | 0.26 | 0.33 | 0.21 | 0.33 |
In this table, Bowen clearly comes out on the top. Also,he faces Crystal Palace and Watford, who concede a lot of chances on their left flank, which could benefit Bowen. Above this bracket, the City mids, Jota, Mount etc come into consideration who are in top form right now. However, in this mid priced (6m – 7m) bracket, Bowen is matching/bettering a lot other higher priced players as well.
Antonio Vs Other Mid Priced Forwards
Up top, let’s see how Antonio looks in his bracket.
*Last 4 Gameweeks’ Stats*
xG/90 | Shots on Target/90 | xA/90 | Big Chances/90
Antonio (7.9m) | 0.00 | 0.25 | 0.25 | 0.75 |
Wilson (7.5m) | 0.49 | 1.00 | 0.13 | 0.75 |
Watkins (7.5m) | 0.29 | 0.75 | 0.09 | 0.50 |
Richarlison (7.4m) | 0.18 | 0.33 | 0.35 | 0.67 |
Jimenez (7.6m) | 0.25 | 0.25 | 0.04 | 1.00 |
As the stats suggest, Antonio has been underwhelming over the last four weeks. His underlying stats have also dipped by a lot, as compared to start of the season. In this bracket, WIlson comes on top, however, with his difficult run of fixtures round the corner, and Antonio’s fixtures taking a turn for the good, a simple Wilson to Antonio move seems logical.

Coufal (4.7m)
Coufal wasn’t getting a lot of minutes this season, and was on the bench for most part. However, with Johnson being out he might step in. He has played 90 minutes in the last 2 weeks, and has put up good enough stats. He got one assist and had 4 Key passes over last 4 gameweeks. He is certainly a risk, as soon as Johnson gets back from injury, but barring that, he is a great option to own in defence, with the possibility of a lot of clean sheets over this run.

Conclusion
Considering all the points mentioned above, jumping on West Ham assets in the next few weeks could come good. Bowen, for me, appears to be the best option, in his bracket as well as from West Ham. He is in electric form right now, and at 6.5m, he is a no-brainer. Based on underlying stats, Antonio isn’t the best option, however, with good fixtures, anything can change. Also, he is a quality player and is crucial for the Irons, he should be able to bounce back and might go on a streak on this run.
