Arsenal

Arsenal GW7 Predicted formation:

  • 4-3-3

Arsenal GW7 Predicted lineup:

Raya

Timber – Saliba – Gabriel – Calafiori

Odegaard – Zubimendi – Rice

Saka – Gyokeres – Eze

Notes/Injury Updates:

  • Odegaard is expected to make his return to Arsenal’s Premier League starting lineup against West Ham this weekend after playing the entirety of their 2-0 UCL win over Olympiacos. The Norwegian seems to have fully recovered from his shoulder injury.
  • Arteta on Odegaard’s performance against Olympiacos: “He’s got all the licence in the world to go forward, Martin, and to play with that freedom and to play with that level of threat especially, not only with the passes, but the way he was taking the ball, carrying the ball, making runs, and arriving in really dangerous areas. I think he put three people through today to score a goal, he should have scored a goal as well, so great to have him back, he played some very good minutes in Newcastle to help us to win the game, and I think today he was phenomenal.”
  • Gabriel received medical attention on the pitch against Olympiacos and was subbed off in the 75th minute. However, Arteta confirmed post-match that his substitution was merely a precautionary measure.
He seems to have allayed concerns over his fitness in his pre-West Ham presser as well, and Gabriel is expected to start this gameweek.
  • Arteta on Gabriel ahead of West Ham: “We will have to wait and see after training and see how everybody is. We weren’t too concerned about it.”
  • Arteta on Piero Hincapie, who is sidelined with a groin issue: “We’ve been trying to do everything as fast as possible [to get him fit], but this game came too fast. Now we have an international break, so hopefully, after that, he will have a couple of sessions with the team and be ready to go.”
  • Havertz and Madueke remain sidelined with long-term injuries.

  • Emery on Martinez (via The Athletic’s Jacob Tanswell on X): “He just had a scan one hour before the press conference, and I don’t know exactly if he’s going to be available because I don’t know the scan result. Tomorrow we will know if Emiliano Martinez will be available for Sunday.”
  • Mings picked up an ankle injury against Fulham last weekend and was forced off in the first half. He will miss Villa’s Europa League clash against Feyenoord tonight and their PL fixture against Burnley this weekend. He is reportedly targeting a return after the October international break (via NY Times).

Everton Injury News/Updates:

  • Dewsbury-Hall will miss this weekend’s Palace clash through suspension after accumulating 5 yellow cards this season.
  • Moyes on Dewsbury-Hall’s suspension: “We have spoken to [the PGMOL] and I think they’re accepting that both of those yellow cards [against Liverpool and West Ham] were wrong. It’s amazing – [Kiernan] is a boy who, when you look through his history, I think he had six bookings in total last year and the year before maybe five bookings, so he’s never had these numbers at all.”
“The last two decisions are terrible, they really are – more for the boy. We’re going to miss him greatly but more for the boy because he’s back playing regularly now and he’s enjoying his football.”
  • Carlos Alcaraz is expected to start in his stead in the No.10 position, similar to Moyes’ lineups in the EFL Cup this season.
  • Jarrad Branthwaite and Merlin Rohl are out.
  • Moyes on Branthwaite and Rohl: “Both the same – no change, neither of them fit for the game, but they’re both making progress and, with a little bit of luck, we’ll start to get them on the grass. We’ve not got them on the grass yet in training, so that’s where we’re at.”

Berge – Lukic

Harry Wilson King – Iwobi

Latest Updates:

  • Tete and Muniz will miss this weekend’s clash against Bournemouth and are set for a substantial spell on the sidelines. The pair missed last weekend’s 3-1 defeat to Villa – Tete with a knee injury and Muniz with a hamstring injury.
  • Marco Silva on Tete and Muniz: “Right now, I can assure you that Rodrigo is going to be out, and Kenny Tete is going to be out, too. More than just this game, we believe even after the international break it’s going to be an issue for them to be ready for the next ones. Bad news for us, a big blow for us in terms of two important players, [but] it is what it is.”
  • To make matters worse, Raul Jimenez is a doubt as well with concerns over his fitness, leaving Silva short of options in the No.9 position.
  • Silva on Jiminez: “About Raúl, we have to wait for him to have a session, take a decision, assess him today again and see if he’s going to be in condition or not to play.”
  • Fulham signed 18-year-old Jonah Kusi-Asare on loan this summer, but Silva is reluctant to rush him into the first team this weekend.
  • Silva on Jonah: “It is what it is, it is our reality, and we are going to try to find solutions. Of course, it’s not an ideal scenario. The ideal scenario is to have the two strikers that normally we use.”
“I know that we signed a young lad, but as I mentioned the last few weeks to you, he needs time to adapt. He is very, very young, and he’s going to need more time, in my opinion.”
“We prepared the season with Rodrigo and Raúl, it’s the first time in the last few years that we are without both, like the last game – let’s see for tomorrow.”
  • Should Jimenez be deemed unfit, Adama Traore is expected to start as a striker, after he was subbed on for Jimenez against Villa in the first 10 minutes.

  • Gnoto is ruled out for GW7.
  • Harry Gray is doubtful due to a problem with his hip flexor.
  • Lucas Perri returned to team training yesterday but will not be available against Tottenham.
  • Farke on Perri: “Lucas Perri is back in team training since yesterday, that’s definitely good news. But it is too early to involve him in this game. I think that most of the international break will be beneficial, and we have two more weeks of training. So I expect him to be available after the international break.”

Liverpool

Liverpool GW7 Predicted Formation:

4-2-3-1

Liverpool GW7 Predicted lineup:

Mamardashvili

Frimpong – Konate – Van Dijk – Kerkez

Mac Allister – Gravenberch

Salah – Szoboszlai – Gakpo

Liverpool Team News and Key Notes:

  • In a huge blow for Liverpool and their PL title race this season, Alisson is out for the Chelsea game after enduring a hamstring injury against Galatasaray in Europe midweek. He will not return until after the international break.
  • Slot on Alisson: “Alisson is not a part of the squad tomorrow. And he’s not going to travel to Brazil as well for the national team. So, he will be out for Saturday.”
“That [Alisson’s return timeline] depends also on how fast a recovery goes. So, Saturday it’s clear, he’s not going to play for Brazil, and I would be surprised if he would be there in the first game after the international break.”
“But from there on, sometimes things can go a bit faster or a bit slower. It’s always difficult to say the amount of days and weeks, but for the upcoming games he will not be part of us or the Brazil team.”
  • Ekitike was subbed off due to injury as well against Galatasaray, while Chiesa missed the fixture after sustaining a knock against Crystal Palace last weekend. The pair’s availability for GW7 will be assessed after their training session today.
  • Slot on Ekitike and Chiesa: “Hugo is going to train today again and let’s see where he is, and the same can be said for Federico. We have to wait and see after the session where exactly they are.”
  • Wirtz is predicted to be rested after starting Liverpool’s last 2 fixtures, although there is a chance he could start.
  • Giovanni Leoni, Stefan Bajcetic, and Jayden Danns are out.

M.Nunes – Dias – Gvardiol – O’Reilly

Silva – N.Gonzalez – Reijnders

Foden – Haaland – Doku

Man City Notes/Injury Update:

  • No fresh injuries for Manchester City after their UCL draw against Monaco.
  • Guardiola’s update on squad’s fitness ahead of Brentford clash: “We train this afternoon but it looks good, no one left without a problem.”
  • Rodri missed last weekend’s 5-1 win over Burnley, being deemed unfit after a hectic schedule of fixtures. The Spaniard is apparently still taking time in his recovery after his ACL tear last year.
  • Guardiola on Rodri and Nico Gonzalez: “Rodri could not play three days before because his knee was in a bad condition. That’s why Nico in those [last] 30 minutes [against Monaco], he was the player that won more balls recovered, and we concede less in the transition, than when Rodri was playing in the first half.”
“I’d love to tell you yes because Rodri wasn’t on the pitch we conceded the goal but I can’t prove that because if I felt it, Rodri would be on the pitch. Rodri cannot play in certain moments and 90 minutes for many games and Nico played really good against Burnley and he’s learning and improving. We need him.”
“Rodri can’t sustain yet the rhythm for games for 90 minutes, he made an incredible effort in the week with Manchester United, Napoli and especially Arsenal. I try to protect my players. Sometimes I want the best players there but I have to protect the players.”
  • Since Rodri started City’s midweek UCL fixture against Monaco, Nico Gonzalez is expected to start against Brentford this weekend, with Guardiola keen on maintaining the Ballon d’Or winner’s fitness.
  • Khusanov, Marmoush, Cherki, and Ait-Nouri are out.

Newcastle United Injury News/Notes:

  • Livramento is ruled out for 8 weeks after he was stretchered off against Arsenal last weekend due to a ligament injury.
  • Howe on Livramento: “He went to see a specialist, and the scan initially looked better than we thought it was. The specialist confirmed it is an eight-week injury, which is a blow for us with the number of games we have in that period. It is a ligament injury and that’s why it will take time to recover. He’s already had a couple of injections in the ligament to strengthen it up.”
  • Wissa and Jacob Ramsey are out.
  • Howe on Schar and Lewis Hall: “Fab has been good. Of course, concussion protocols we respect and understand. He followed it and now he’s back and has been good.”
“Lewis has been more complex, just trying to get him to feel totally confident in his body again. He is doing well but we need to make sure we monitor his progress.”
  • Dan Burn and Sven Botman are expected to start together, with Burn starting at left-back in Hall’s stead.

  • Although Kolo Muani and Solanke remain out for GW7, Thomas Frank has provided some positive updates on the Tottenham duo.
  • Frank on Kolo Muani and Solanke: “Dominic had a minor procedure and it went well. As I said in Bodo, in terms of a time frame (for his return to action) we’ll know more after the international break.”
“Kolo Muani has been back on the pitch for the last two days, so that’s very positive.”
  • Frank on Kota Takai (via the aforementioned outlet’s report): “Kota is better and better. He has trained fully with the team for a week to 10 days.”

It’s going to be a long season, and we need to make the proper decisions and solutions. Wolves

Wolves GW7 Predicted formation:

  • 4-3-3

Wolves GW7 Predicted lineup:

Johnstone

Doherty – L.Krejci – S.Bueno – H.Bueno

AndreJoao Gomes – Munetsi

Arias – LarsenHee Chan

Wolves Team News and Notes:

  • Pereira on team news (via Wolves correspondent Liam Keen on X): “Hee-chan is working with the team with a small problem, not serious. Larsen has started working with us, we’ll see.”
“He’s [Hee-chan] a fantastic player, he’s fast, he’s intelligent and technical. He has the quality to finish. We don’t play with two strikers and Larsen is scoring. I have players that don’t have more chances to play and this is football.”
  • Johnstone is expected to start over Sa after he replaced him in the starting XI against Spurs last weekend.
  • Pereira on why he chose Johnstone over Sa after the Spurs game (via Molineux News): “The reason is because, after the last game I felt that, OK, the team is here. The team is here because he won 2-0. And I need to establish a team. I need to give them confidence. And of course, they are competing for the position. Sa is competing with Daniel and Sam. The others, they are competing between themselves. But with a good spirit, to be better, to push themselves and each other, and to help the team. I had a conversation with everybody, and they understand the situation. They understand the decisions.”
  • Larsen, who has been struggling with an Achilles tendon issue, provides injury update (via Molineux News): “I haven’t quite got going yet, and I’m struggling today too, unfortunately. I feel like I’m walking with a bit of a limp, and it’s boring.”
