FPL GW33 Tips – Key Questions/Dilemmas Answered

1) Is it worth saving a ‘Free Transfer’ this week?

Avoiding making forced transfers right now can be crucial for your rank at this Fantasy Premier League season stage. If you believe your team is in good shape and there aren’t any major issues to solve, saving a transfer is the right way.

We might get more information on the Trent/Bradley Dilemmas post GW33. Refraining from rushing into a transfer this week can also help decide which Wolves/Palace players to target for their Double in GW34.

No game-changing transfer trends are emerging this week. If you have any injured players and don’t have the bench to cover them, I understand the need to make a move, but other than that, try to save this week.

Overall, unless you have picked a player at the risk of not starting in Gameweek 33 and you don’t have enough bench cover, you can save the transfer. This will give you two free transfers for Gameweek 34 and one additional gameweek’s worth of information, which can be vital.

There is no right or wrong answer here, as there is no single way of playing FPL. It depends on how comfortable you are with your team this week and how much risk you will take. If any players would improve your squad, lock in that transfer before the deadline.

2) How do you prepare for Double Gameweek 34?

As you know by now, Gameweek 34 is a Double Gameweek. These are the teams that double in GW34.

✅ Arsenal vs Wolves(A), Chelsea(H)
✅ Bournemouth vs Villa(A), Wolves(A)
✅ Palace vs West Ham(H), Newcastle(H)
✅ Liverpool vs Fulham(A), Everton(A)
✅ Everton vs Forest(H), Liverpool(H)
✅ Sheffield United vs Burnley(H), Man United(A)
✅ Wolves vs Arsenal(H), Bournemouth(H)

If you are Free-Hitting in GW34, you can easily set up a team with 11 Doublers and maximize GW34. If you are not, Arsenal and Liverpool players are priorities.

A double-up on the Arsenal defence and Saka is a safe combination. If you want to go aggressive, you can go for Havertz, Saka, and one of the defenders.

Picking Liverpool players is tricky. Assuming Salah is a lock, the other two spots are up for grabs. Trent’s return will hamper Bradley’s minutes. VVD is a decent option, but I would possibly punt on Darwin and one of the other attackers. Luiz Diaz has started every game since GW19 and is a safe starter. He has 9 attacking returns at the same time and can be considered bringing in this/next week. Alexis MacAllister is another differential if you want to gain rank/positions in your mini-league.

Palace has a tricky game this week, but if you want to target another DGW34 team, you can get a Wolves player. If Rayan Aït-Nouri is fit, he is still a decent pick. Though I am concerned about the clean sheet potential, Aït-Nouri can still provide attacking returns.

3) What should we do with Man City players this week?

Man City players are giving us quite the dilemma this week. With Man City scheduled to play midweek after the GW33 game, there are high chances any of the Man City players get rested.

Any Man City defenders can be easily sold this week. I don’t think any of those defenders provide any upside despite the easier fixture against Luton this week. While they are not a hard sell, if you have ‘2 Free Transfers’, you can sell them for an Arsenal/Liverpool defender.

KDB punished his sellers last week by getting a massive 18-point haul, and it was very difficult to catch that. Considering the importance of the midweek game in the CL, there are high chances KBD will get rested or reduced minutes. If there are no leaks, keep him this week before selling in GW34.

Foden is another tricky player to assess right now. He missed out in GW32, and considering that he picked up a knock in the CL game, there is a high chance that he will miss the game in GW33. You can easily sell him for an Arsenal MID if you have the 3rd Arsenal spot open. Another alternative is to play him this week and take a chance. Watch out for Pep’s Press Conference update later today. For GW34, you can sell him for a Palace MID.

Haaland is more straight-forward to call this week. He gets a start this week, even if it is reduced minutes. He is a good captaincy option this week. Keep him this week before you move him out on a Free Hit in GW34 or just as a regular transfer before Wildcarding him back in GW35.

4) What transfers do you make now if using the Free Hit in GW34?

If you are using your Free Hit chip in GW34, you really don’t need to plan any moves for GW34, as you can easily use the chip and reset your team for the Double. The transfer move can be to just attack GW33, especially if you are using your Wildcard in GW35. You can get Toney or a Brighton player for a one-week punt. You can even go aggressive with big teams like Arsenal and Liverpool and get one of their midfielders this week.

If you don’t have your Wildcard available, you can plan a bit longer term here. GW37 is another double gameweek. These are teams doubling in GW37.

✅ Chelsea vs Forest(A), Brighton(A)
✅ Spurs vs Burnley(H), Man City(H)
✅ Man City vs Fulham(A), Spurs(A)
✅ Man United vs Arsenal(H), Newcastle(H)
✅ Newcastle vs Brighton(H), Man United(A)
✅ Brighton vs Newcastle(A), Chelsea(H)

You can see what players you currently have and who are the ones you would like to get. For this double, triple Man City looks good. You can even punt on players from Newcastle and Brighton and get them early this week.

That will be all from my side for this week! I wish you all the best for FPL Gameweek 33, and I will see you all next week.
