FPL GW28 Wildcard Guide
Upcoming Double Gameweeks and Blank Gameweeks:
- GW28- Double Gameweek for Luton Town and Bournemouth
- GW29- Blank Gameweek due to FA Cup Round 6. Only eight teams will have a game: Villa, West Ham, Luton, Forest, Brentford, Burnley, Fulham, and Spurs
- GW34- Likely Double Gameweek and Less likely Blank Gameweek based on FA Cup results. FA Cup semis take place at that time. But there is a free midweek after that so there are less chances of a Blank Gameweek.
- GW36- Possibility of a small DGW for 2 teams(Spurs and Chelsea)
- GW37- Bigger DGW than GW34 that will slot all the remaining postponed fixtures.

Players to Target on FPL GW28 Wildcard:
- Goalkeepers: Neto, Raya, Flekken(plays in GW29), and Areola(plays in GW29)
- Defenders: Gabriel, Saliba, Udogie(If fit), Senesi, Regulion, Konsa/Pau, Doughty & Timothy Castagne/Robinson
Enablers: Zabarnyi, Mengi
- Midfielders: Son, Maddison, Saka, Kudus, Bowen and Palmer
Enablers: Barkley, Douglas Luiz, and Bailey
- Forwards: Haaland, Toney, Watkins, Solanke
Enablers: Muniz, Carlton Morris/Adebayo(If fit)
Pros of GW28 Wildcard:
- You can attack the immediate DGW28 and also navigate GW29 blank without Free Hit. Most managers are expected to Free Hit in Blank GW29 as only 8 teams are playing. You can use the Free Hit in GW34/GW37 to catch the upside.
- Remove injured players from your teams as there are a lot of injury concerns going into GW28
Cons of GW28 Wildcard:
- Most managers will be Wildcarding in GW30/GW31 to prepare for the GW34/GW37 Doubles with more information known by then. You will need to catch up with FTs/Free Hit to prepare for those weeks.
- Can’t maximize bench boost chip by playing it right after GW28 Wildcard. You need to use it in GW34/GW37 Doubles and need to have 15 starting players till then.
Other Windows to use Wildcard:
- GW30/GW31 – Wildcard to prepare for the doubles in GW34/37 (DGW34 will be confirmed during this period and a clear view of DGW37 will emerge)
- GW33 – Wildcard in GW33 ahead of a Bench boost in GW34, Free Hit in GW37 in this case.
- GW34 – Directly wildcarding in GW34 which will be a double/blank gameweek based on FA Cup results
- GW35- A late wildcard to attack the biggest double gameweek of the season, DGW37. You can also play the bench boost in GW37 to maximize the fixtures.
FPL GW28 Wildcard Drafts
FPL GW28 Wildcard Draft 1
Chip Strategy for this Draft:
- Wildcard – GW28
- Free Hit – GW37/34
- Bench Boost – GW34/37
- No Haaland draft with 5 Double Gameweek players for GW28- Solanke, Neto, Zabarnyi, Doughty, and Morris.
Key Stats- Solanke:
- Solanke is Top for xG(10.72) and Shots inside the Box(46) in the league since GW12. He is also ranked 2nd for Big Chances (16) and Goals scored(10) during this time.
- Only Haaland(18), Watkins(16), and Salah(15) have scored more goals than Solanke in the Premier League this season.
- There is a risk of not going with Haaland between GW28-GW29/GW30. But it is a calculated risk with Luton having two extra games compared to Haaland and Haaland’s next 3 games are- Liverpool(A), Blank, and Arsenal(H).

Projection for FPL BGW29:
- Planned Transfers- Toney(c) and Udogie in for Solanke and Zabarnyi(-4)
- 11 Players for Blank Gameweek 29 even with only 8 teams playing

Projection for FPL GW30:
- Planned Free Transfer: Toney to Haaland
- Plan is to get one of Salah/Haaland in GW30 and the other one in GW31 based on the landscape at that moment. If you think Haaland vs Arsenal(H) is a tough fixture you can do Bowen to Salah(vs Brighton).

Projection for FPL GW31:
- Planned Transfers: Salah and Chukwuemka in for Bowen and Maddison(-4). You can even get better players than Chukwuemka if you have good team value that can be helpful if you have bench boost to play later on.
- You can go for the above-mentioned move by breaking the bank and getting Haaland+ Salah+ Saka+ Son.
- An alternate or safer option is to sacrifice one of the Son/Salah. Eg. Make the planned transfers as Martinelli/Gordon for Bowen/Maddison to build an overall strong squad towards GW34. Arsenal/Newcastle DEFs can also be bought in to strengthen the squad as the defense is a bit weak.
- From GW31, the strategy would be target players from teams like Chelsea, Newcastle, Liverpool, etc who have good fixtures and possible Double GWs coming up.
