Welcome to our FPL GW27 Scout Picks blog. Our fantastic scout @FPLDaggaFC (Do follow him on Twitter) is back with his Scout picks for Gameweek 27, as always our Scout picks are backed up by eye test, stats, and analysis.

Last season our scout picks won 21.5 vs 15.5 against the Official FPL Scout picks. This season the score is 12.5-13.5 heading into GW27 with Official FPL Scout picks leading us by one point.

FPL GW27 Scout Picks

FPL GW27 Scout Picks – Goalkeeper

In the last six games, Arsenal have conceded only 3 goals and their xGC of 1.8 is the lowest by a big margin(Man City are 2nd with an xGC of 6.9 during the last six games). Arsenal also have the highest odds of a clean sheet in GW29(56%) which makes Raya a no-brainer option in this week’s scout picks.

FPL GW27 Scout Picks – Defenders

Senesi leads the defense line with a favorable fixture vs Burnley this week. Senesi already has 5 attacking returns this season- 3 goals, and 2 assists from 18 games which are good numbers for a defender.

Matchup alert: Since GW22, Burnley have conceded 21 Shots from Headers- Highest in the League. Senesi loves a header from a set piece and this matchup suits him.

The best part is that Senesi also has a home Double Gameweek in GW28 thereby making him a great pick for the upcoming 2 GWs. Bournemouth’s GW27 opponent Burnley are struggling- Winless in the last 8 games, Ranked 19th for Goals scored(7), Ranked 19th for xG(7.65) since GW19.

Note: Senesi is on 8 yellow cards- 2 yellow cards away from a suspension.

Van Dijk is the next pick with a fixture vs Forest away from home. VVD has now scored 2 goals in his last 3 games in all competitions- A goal vs Luton in GW25 and a goal vs Chelsea in the Cup Final. He has been having an increased goal threat from set pieces in recent weeks. Throughout the season, Van Dijk is Top for Shots inside the Box(26) among Defenders.

Gabriel rounds up the defense with an easy fixture vs a struggling Sheffield United side. With 3 attacking returns(2 goals, and 1 assist) from the last 6 games, Gabriel always carries an aerial threat on set pieces. Arsenal are easily the best defensive side in the league at the moment- Most Clean Sheets(10), Least Goals conceded(23), Least xGC(18.61) and Least Big Chances conceded(40).

Gabriel has 5 Big Chances since GW12- Highest among all Defenders during this time. During this time Gabriel is also Top for xG(2.91), 2nd Highest for Shots inside the box(16) among Defenders.

FPL GW27 Scout Picks – Midfielders

Saka is the Top Midfield pick for Gameweek 27. He has been in scintillating form to say the least with 7 goals, 59 points from the last 5 games averaging close to 12 points/game. His underlying numbers are also excellent.

Saka Stats since GW22:

• Matches- 5
• Shots inside the box- 13(4th)
• Big Chances- 6(2nd among mids)
• xGI- 5.9(1st)
• Goal Involvements- 7(2nd)
• FPL Points- 59(1st)

It can’t get better than a fixture vs SHU considering the devasting form Saka is in. Sheffield United have conceded 17 goals from their last 6 matches– Highest in the league.

With Richarlison ruled for Spurs due to injury, Son is once again expected to take the striker spot which improves his FPL potential. Son has 12 goals, and 6 assists from 22 games this season. With a fixture in GW29(when 12 teams are blanking), Son should be one of your Top Transfer Targets for this week. Even if you plan to Free Hit in GW29, getting Son might not be a bad option this week considering the favorable matchups.

Son- Matchups against Palace

• Crystal Palace are averaging 2.5 Goals conceded/game over the last 6 matches. This includes a clean sheet vs 10-man Burnley last GW, or else the record is much worse. Palace are also with main centre-back Guehi
• Son has 6 goals, and 2 assists in the last 9 games vs Palace in the Premier League
• Spurs have never lost to Palace at Home in Premier League since 1997

Bowen is fresh from his hat trick and 20-point haul vs Brentford in GW26. With a great fixture run- Everton(A), Burnley(H), Villa(A), Newcastle(A), Spurs(H) in the next 5 games, Bowen would be a popular pick soon. His hat trick was not a lucky/one-off as he has 14 goals, and 2 assists this season. Only Salah(22) has more Big Chances than Bowen(18) among Midfielders this season. Bowen is also not on penalties which makes this stat even more great.

Matchup alert: Everton have conceded 27 chances down the center over the last 6 matches which is the third highest among all the teams. Bowen exactly thrives in those central spaces as seen in the previous game.

De Bruyne rounds up the midfield after being the FPL villain in the past few weeks. He has a combined 2 points from the past 3 matches. But he did return to full fitness in the midweek FA Cup win over Luton Town in which he got 4 assists. As seen in the below press conference, he looks to be fit and raring to go. When fully fit, we know what damage he can do to the opposition.

FPL GW27 Scout Picks – Forwards

Watkins is arguably the Best FPL asset right now. 14 goals, and 15 FPL assists from 26 games is the stuff of FPL dreams which Watkins has managed to achieve this season. He in fact has the most Goal Involvement this season beating the likes of Salah, Haaland, etc.

Most FPL Goal Involvements this season:

• Watkins- 29
• Salah- 24
• Haaland- 24
• Saka- 21
• Son- 18

Watkins GW27 opponent Luton Town have conceded 21 Big Chances over the last 5 games averaging 4.3 Big Chances conceded/game- The highest in the league. With a confirmed fixture in GW29, Watkins should be a no-brainer pick and Top Transfer Target if you don’t own him yet. To add to this the fixture run till GW29 for Watkins is also really good- Luton(A), Spurs(H), West Ham(A).

Man Utd have conceded 435 shots in the Premier League this season. ONLY Sheffield United have conceded more. Man United have also conceded 105 chances through the middle so far this season which is the 2nd most amongst all teams giving Haaland a great matchup.

Haaland who scored five goals in the midweek FA Cup game vs Luton Town will be eager to be amongst the goals in the Manchester derby. He’s also the captain in this week’s scout picks based on our captaincy metrics.

Gakpo is the differential in the scout picks this week, Salah and Jota are still out and Darwin is only returning this week which improves the xMins for the Dutch attacker. Gakpo has registered 2 goals and an assist in DGW25 registering an xGI of 1.4 which is the 2nd highest amongst Liverpool assets only behind Luis Diaz. Gakpo played only 135 mins, whereas Diaz played 179 mins in DGW25.
