FPL GW27 Wildcard Guide
Upcoming Double Gameweeks and Blank Gameweeks:
- GW28- Double Gameweek for Luton Town and Bournemouth
- GW29- Blank Gameweek due to FA Cup Round 6. Only eight teams will have a game: Villa, West Ham, Luton, Forest, Brentford, Burnley, Fulham, and Spurs
- GW34- Likely Double Gameweek and Less likely Blank Gameweek based on FA Cup results. FA Cup semis take place at that time. But there is a free midweek after that so there are less chances of a Blank Gameweek.
- GW36- Possibility of a small DGW for 2 teams(Spurs and Chelsea)
- GW37- Bigger DGW than GW34 that will slot all the remaining postponed fixtures.

Players to Target on FPL GW27 Wildcard:
- Goalkeepers: Neto, Raya, Flekken(plays in GW29), and Areola(plays in GW29)
- Defenders: Gabriel, Saliba, Udogie(If fit), Senesi, Regulion, Konsa/Pau, Doughty & Timothy Castagne/Robinson
- Enablers: Zabarnyi, Mengi and Amari’i Bell
- Midfielders: Son, Maddison, Saka, Kudus, Bowen, Richarlison(If fit), and Palmer
Enablers: Barkley, Douglas Luiz, and Bailey
- Forwards: Haaland, Toney, Watkins, Solanke
Enablers: Muniz, Carlton Morris/Adebayo(If fit)
Pros of GW27 Wildcard:
- You can attack the immediate DGW28 and also navigate GW29 blank without Free Hit. Most managers are expected to Free Hit in Blank GW29 as only 8 teams are playing. You can use the Free Hit in GW34/GW37 to catch the upside.
- Remove injured players from your teams as there are a lot of injury concerns going into GW27
Cons of GW27 Wildcard:
- Most managers will be Wildcarding in GW30/GW31 to prepare for the GW34/GW37 Doubles with more information known by then. You will need to catch up with FTs/Free Hit to prepare for those weeks.
Other Windows to use Wildcard:
- GW28 – Wildcard to target the double gameweek and also navigate BGW29 without a free hit
- GW30/GW31 – Wildcard to prepare for the doubles in GW34/37 (DGW34 will be confirmed during this period and a clear view of DGW37 will emerge)
- GW33 – Wildcard in GW33 ahead of a Bench boost in GW34, Free Hit in GW37 in this case.
- GW34 – Directly wildcarding in GW34 which will be a double/blank gameweek based on FA Cup results
- GW35- A late wildcard to attack the biggest double gameweek of the season, DGW37. You can also play the bench boost in GW37 to maximize the fixtures.
FPL GW27 Wildcard Drafts
FPL GW27 Wildcard Draft 1
Planner used: FPL Team
Chip Strategy for this Draft:
- Wildcard – GW27
- Triple Captain – GW28(if you still have it)
- Free Hit – GW37/34
- Bench Boost – GW34/37
- The rough plan is to attack DGW28 and navigate GW29 without using Free Hit. Use the Free Hit later in GW34/GW37.
- Plan to get Salah in Gameweek 30, by then he should be back from injury
- Few 50/50 decisions to be made based on press conferences and injuries- Maddison/Richarlison, Pau/Konsa
- Arsenal have conceded only 3 goals and their xGC of 1.8 is the lowest by a margin(Man City are 2nd with an xGC of 6.9 during the last six games). Gabriel is a no-brainer option, you can also double up on Salbia or get Raya in goal.
- Udogie and Konsa are back in training and both of them are options in this wildcard with blank gameweek 29 in mind. Both Aston Villa, and Spurs will have a game in GW29.
- Doughty and Barkley are the Luton assets in this draft, Luton will double in GW28 and will also have a fixture in GW29.(More on Barkley in our Differentials blog)
- Bournemouth have Burnley in GW27 and a double in GW28 which has Sheffield(H) and Luton(H)
- Neto has 84 saves from 23 games this season averaging 3.65 saves/game. This does suggest that he is likely to at least get a save point(3 saves = 1 point) every game. Over the last 4 matches, Neto has made 18 saves which is the Joint 3rd Highest among GKs during this time. More on Neto in our Differentials blog)
- Note: Senesi is on 8 yellow cards at the moment. If he reaches 10 yellow cards, there will be a two-game suspension. If you want to play safe you can go for the likes of Zabarnyi
- The front three of Haaland, Watkins, and Solanke pick themselves, there is a small injury concern around Solanke but he appears to be okay.

Projection for FPL DGW28:
- Transfer Rolled
- 5 Doublers for GW28– Solanke, Senesi, Neto, Doughty and Barkley
- If you are a risk-taking manager, you can replace Haaland with Luton Forward(Morris/Adebayo) and then get back to Haaland in GW30. You will get 3 fixtures from the Luton FWD between GW28-GW29 when Haaland has only one fixture- Liverpool(A).
Projection for Blank Gameweek 29:
- Solanke to Toney with one Free Transfer means you will have 9 Players already for GW29. Other Free Transfer can be used to get the 10th player in.
