FPL GW25 Scout Picks
FPL DGW25 Scout Picks – Goalkeeper
Liverpool(H), and Man City(A) might well be one of the Toughest DGW fixtures you will ever get. But despite that, Flekken makes the cut due to his save potential and Bonus points. Clean Sheets are a tough ask with these fixtures but Flekken can still get you points with saves and Bonus. Expect Man City and Liverpool to take a lot of shots which works well for save points.
Key Stat: Since GW21, Flekken is Top in the League for Saves made(20) and Bonus Points System Score(100) among goalkeepers.
Flekken in last 2 games:
- GW23 vs Man City(H): Assist, 12 saves, 2 Bonus, 10 points
- GW24 vs Wolves(A): 5 saves, 1 bonus, 7 points

FPL DGW25 Scout Picks – Defenders
Virgil Van Dijk is the Top Defender Pick for GW25 with Trent Alexander Arnold ruled out. Liverpool have two good games vs Brentford(A), and Luton(H). Bradley, Robertson, and Konate are all good picks but they have minutes risk with the Carabao Cup final after GW25. Van Dijk is the most nailed defenders in the Liverpool team and also carries a good goal threat. He is in fact Top among Defenders for Shots inside the Box this season.
Matchup alert: Luton Town have conceded 33 shots from set pieces this season which is the highest among all teams this season. Most set pieces are directed towards VVD and there are good chances that he gets on the score sheet in this DGW.
Doughty has the most assists(6) in the league and also has the third most FPL Points(47) among Defenders since GW15. Doughty has created 21 chances during this time and only TAA(32) has created more chances among defenders. Doughty also created 9 chances vs Sheffield United in GW24 and was unlucky not to get a return.
You can’t expect clean sheets from Doughty due to the tough difficult fixtures. But you should consider him as an attacker at just 4.6 million who can give you attacking returns and also has another confirmed Double Gameweek in GW28 vs Palace, Bournemouth. He is also on corners and set pieces for Luton.
Gabriel is the only Single Gameweek defender who makes the cut. Arsenal are the best defensive side in the league at the moment and are also good at attacking set pieces. Gabriel already has 3 goals, and 1 assist this season and is Top for xG among Defenders since GW12.
Arsenal’s GW24 opponent Burnley are struggling for goals and are ranked 18th for Goals scored and 19th for xG over the last 8 games. So there are good chances that there is another Double Digit haul for Gabriel.
Burnley have also conceded the most xG from set play this season(10.6) and we all know how deadly Gabriel can be from corners and set pieces.
No defender has more headed goals than Gabriel(4), Arsenal are top for corners taken(182), 2nd for headed attempts on goal(68), 3rd for set play xG(9.66), and 1st for headed goals(13). This is an excellent aerial matchup for Arsenal and Gabriel.

FPL DGW25 Scout Picks – Midfielders
Manchester City duo of Foden and De Bruyne lead the midfield pack with a Home Double Gameweek vs Chelsea and Brentford. City’s GW25 opponents are ranked 14th and 15th for Goals Conceded since GW14 highlighting their poor defensive form. Phil Foden is still fresh from his brilliant hat trick and 20-point haul vs Brentford in GW23. Not just in GW23, Foden has been consistently ticking along even before that blanking twice since GW17 with 4 goals, and 4 assists from 7 games.
De Bruyne has not yet blanked since his return from injury with 1 goal, and 4 assists from 3 games so far. He has got back his With Manchester City confirmed to Double in GW25 and also not blank in GW26, the midfield double-up of Foden, and De Bruyne along with Haaland at the top offers great upside potential. Both KDB and Foden also scored in the midweek win UCL win over Copenhagen continuing their good form.
Diogo Jota has taken up the majority of goal-scoring duties ever since Salah left for AFCON and got injured. In the league, Jota has 4 goals, and 1 assist from 4 games ever since Salah left. We all know the explosive potential of Jota along with his clinical finishing. With an excellent DGW fixture in GW25, Jota(still at <25% TSB) can help you catch up ranks in GW25.
Saka is the only Single Gameweek attacker in our FPL GW25 Scout Selection. He is simply undroppable in his current form with 5 goals, and 44 points from the last 5 games. Only Palmer(48) has more FPL Points than Saka during this run. His underlying numbers are also strong with 4.36 xG(2nd highest), and 14 Shots inside the box(3rd highest).
Saka’s fixture in GW25 is also really good. Burnley have conceded 50 goals from 24 games this season- 2nd Highest among all teams and averaging more than 2 goals conceded/game.
FPL DGW25 Scout Picks – Forwards
Haaland is a no-brainer Captaincy pick this week in our Scout team. In fact, this is arguably the Best Triple Captain window this season. Haaland got both the goals in the 2-0 win over Everton(GW24) to fetch 13 points. Haaland already has 16 goals, 6 assists from 18 games this season despite missing many games due to injury.
Stat Attack: Haaland has 30 goals, 10 assists, and 9 Double Digit hauls from 27 home games since he joined Manchester City. He has blanked only 4 times. With a Double Gameweek(both at home), What’s stopping you from Triple Captaining Haaland?!
Matchup alert: Brentford have conceded 27 chances down the center during the last 6 matches which is the 2nd Highest among all the teams in the league. This matchup should help both Haaland and Foden.
Darwin Nunez is a player who is really difficult to understand. Despite getting 8 goals, and 9 assists this season it feels like he should have easily had more. His underlying numbers are really good throughout the season and over the last 6 weeks, he tops all the goal-scoring underlying numbers. He has all the upside potential to go big this week.
Darwin Nunez Stats since GW19(Rank in the league):
- Matches- 6
- Shots- 30 (2nd)
- Shots on Target- 16 (1st)
- Shots inside the Box- 22 (1st)
- Big Chances- 9 (1st)
- xG- 4.99 (1st)
- xGI- 6.8 (1st)
Ivan Toney completes the DGW25 Scout Picks as a Differential option. Even with these difficult fixtures, Toney has a good record of returning even against big teams. Toney has 3 goals, and 1 assist in 4 games since his return. To add to this- As it stands, Brentford are the only team to Double in GW25 and Confirmed to not blank in both GW26 and GW29. Toney is analyzed in detail in our FPL GW25 Differentials article.
