And the main Fulham man to take advantage of this kind run of fixtures – Alex Iwobi. In the last 5 GWs, no Fulham player has scored more FPL points than the Iwobi.

In fact, in that period, his rank amongst MIDs –

• 2^nd for FPL points
• 2^nd for Big Chances
• 3^rd for xGNP
• 3^rd for xG Open Play

John McGinn (£5.5m) – MID, Aston Villa – 1.6% TSB

Many will be surprised to see McGinn in this space. But a deep dive into the numbers will reveal why he makes a case for himself.

Aston Villa has won 15 successive home league matches. And only the bravest would punt for Sheffield United to be the team to break the trend. So, who can give you the AVL points against SHU at home? This is where things get interesting.

The top 3 FPL scorers for AVL in home games this season:-

1. Watkins – 55 points
2. Luiz – 54 points
3. McGinn – 51 points

The top 3 FPL scorers for AVL in home games this season GW10 onwards:-

1. McGinn – 30 points
2. Martinez – 22 points
3. Bailey – 21 points

McGinn has blanked only in 2 home games; that’s fewer than teammates like Watkins, Luiz, and Diaby. Only Bailey has been more consistent blanking once in home games – but he is a mins risk.

So you can bring in Mcginn to gain over your mini-league rivals

Fun fact: McGinn also actively plays FPL and has owned himself in his FPL team from GW1 this season, He might be tempted to captain himself against Sheffield United at home in GW18!

FPL Gameweek 18 Transfer Tips: Two Players to HOLD

Kieran Trippier (£6.9m) – DEF, Newcastle – 42.5% TSB

More than 830,000 managers sold Trippier in GW17 mostly because of the ban. But they might be ruing their decision with Trippier making a comeback against Luton followed by Nottingham Forest. With Newcastle out of UCL and with Burn & Botman returning from their injuries, the Newcastle defence, which have kept the highest Clean Sheets in the league so far, looks stronger than ever with reduced workload and increased strength.

Trippier ranks 1^st among defenders for Assists and Goal Involvements. So, he has the potential to score FPL points at either end of the pitch and if he scores at both ends, we are easily looking at a double-digit haul. So HOLD Trippier

Matchup: Luton Town are 5th for most chances conceded(61) and crosses conceded in the right flank(170) in the League

Trippier set play stats amongst defenders:

• Crosses – 127 (1st amongst defenders)
• Successful crosses – 41 (1st amongst defenders)
• Successful cross percentage – 32% (1st amongst defenders)
• Corners taken – 65 (1st amongst defenders)
• Set piece into box – 74 (1st amongst defenders)
• Freekicks taken – 24 (1st amongst defenders)

Setplay matchup/Assist Potential: Luton are 2nd in the league for set play xGC(7.0) and 3rd for goal attempts from set play conceded(78).

Bukayo Saka (£9.0m) – MID, Arsenal – 58.7% TSB

Saka has two consecutive blanks and just 10 points in the last 3 games. His generosity to donate penalties to his teammates hasn’t helped his cause either. Saka is certainly testing the patience of his owners at that price point. 

However, his underlying stats are not too bad. Even in this lean period, among MIDs, he is ranked:

• 2^nd for Shots Inside Box
• 4^th for Big Chances Created
• 5^th for shots
• 5^th for xA

Up next for Arsenal is the Top of the Table clash with Liverpool; a fixture which saw 9 goals across the two legs last season.

And beyond that, it’s a mouth-watering run of fixtures for Saka

So if you have Saka in your team, HOLD

FPL Gameweek 18 Transfer Tips: Two Players to SELL

Ederson (£5,5m) – GKP, Man City – 17.1% TSB

If you’re investing £5.5m in a Manchester City GKP, you wouldn’t anticipate him being ranked outside the Top 10 goalkeepers in FPL. This season, Manchester City’s performance has been disappointing, as they have 1 win in their last 6 games. In previous seasons, Ederson could be trusted with a steady flow of clean sheets. However, this season tells a different story:

He has managed only:-

• 0 Clean Sheet in the last 7 games
• 1 Clean Sheet in the last 11 games
• 2 Clean Sheets in the last 15 games

To add to the concerns, Manchester City has a blank fixture in GW18. Therefore, selling Ederson can be viewed as a cautious move rather than a mandatory or challenging decision.

Darwin Núñez (£7.6m) – FWD, Liverpool – 16.6% TSB

16 points in the last 7 games is not something you would expect if you pay ~£7.5m for a player. To put it in context, more than 100 players priced similar or lower have scored more FPL points than Darwin in this time period.

To make matters worse, Liverpool sit 18^th in FDR from GW 18-23

At that price point with such inconsistency and those upcoming fixtures, Darwin is a sell this GW.
