FPL GW10 Scout Picks Based on Stats, Analysis, and Matchups

Welcome to our FPL GW10 Scout Picks blog. Our fantastic scout @FPLDaggaFC (Do follow him on Twitter) is back with his Scout picks for Gameweek 10, as always our Scout picks are backed up by eye test, stats, and analysis.

Last season our scout picks won 21.5 vs 15.5 against the Official FPL Scout picks. This season we have taken a 5-4 lead heading into GW10.

FPL GW10 Scout Picks- Goalkeeper

Vicario Stats this season(Rank among GKs):

• Bonus Points System Score- 200(2nd)
• Clean Sheets- 4(Joint 1st)
• Saves made- 32(7th)

Lots of Saves, Bonus Point potential and Clean Sheets. This is the perfect blue print for a Ideal FPL Goalkeeper. Vicario ticks all these boxes and is in excellent form. Up against a Palace side(without Eze and Olise) who have scored only 1 goal in the last 4 games, another clean sheet could be in for Spurs and Vicario.

FPL GW10 Scout Picks- Defenders

First up is the Aston Villa duo of Cash and Digne vs Luton Town at home. Cash has been in his own league and has been the most attacking defender in the league essentially playing almost as a right-winger.

Cash Rank among Defenders this season:

• xGI- 1st
• xG- 1st
• Big Chances- 1st
• Shots inside the Box- 1st
• Goals- 1st

Digne also has 3 assists(3rd among defenders), 15 Key passes(4th among defenders). Digne is also on side of corners as he has already taken 17 corners this season. One thing to note about Digne is that he is on 4 yellow cards- one yellow away from suspension. Along with their attacking potential of this duo, a clean sheet is also very likely against a Luton side who are not great on the road. Even after this game, Villa fixtures look really good till GW14.

Luton Away Attack Rank this season(Per 90 minutes stats):

• Shots on Target- 20th
• Non Penalty xG- 18th
• Big Chances- 14th

Gabriel is our next player in the FPL GW10 Scout Selection. Arsenal are an elite defense and Gabriel offers the best budget route at just 4.7 million. After not starting the first 3 games, Gabriel has started every game since then and has played 90 minutes. Sheffield United have conceded the most headed attempts(39) in the league this season and that is a matchup Gabriel would love. For context, Gabriel has the best xG among Defenders in the league last season and loves a headed goal.

Arsenal defense stats this season:

• xGC- 2nd least
• Goals Conceded- Joint 2nd least
• Big Chances Conceded- 4th least
• Clean Sheets- Joint 1st

Not just for this week, Gabriel is a good pick for this run till GW15 where they could even keep 4-5 clean sheets from the next 6 games.

Tsimikas is the final pick among defenders. Liverpool have the Best xGC/90 at home among all teams this season- Better than even City, Arsenal and Newcastle. FPL GW10 Scout Picks- Midfielders

Egyptian King Salah takes the arm band in our FPL GW10 Scout Selection after topping in the tightly fought Captaincy Metrics. He has been in the form of his life almost returning every game. Salah has 7 goals, 4 assists,75 points from 9 games this season averaging 8.33 FPL points/game. Over the last 5 games his form is even more crazy his FPL returns reading- 16, 15, 1, 10, 10. Salah should be one of the Top Transfer Targets if you still don’t have him yet.

Heung Min Son has been a different beast finding his form ever since he started playing as a striker(from GW4). Since GW4, Son has 7 goals, 1 assist from 6 games getting 60 points. No player has got more FPL points than Son during this time.

• nPxG- 1st
• Big Chances- 1st
• Goal Involvements- 1st
• FPL Points- 1st

Saka is the next pick in our Scout’s GW10 team. Saka got an assist in the GW9 vs Chelsea and missed GW8 vs City due to injury. But before that Saka blanked in only one of the first 7 games getting 53 points during this time. Up against a team like Sheffield United who are poor defensively, Saka could easily get a Double digit haul.

Sheffield United- Defensive woes:

• Big Chances Conceded- 35(1st)
• xGC- 20.62(19th)
• Goals Conceded- 24(20th)

Bowen has 6 goals, 1 assist from 9 games so far getting 58 points averaging 6.44 points/game. Bowen also has 7 Big Chances- Only Salah(9) having more Big Chances among midfielders. He also has 20 Shots inside the box- 3rd among all midfielders.

All these numbers despite playing teams like City, Chelsea, Liverpool, Newcastle and Villa during this run. When the fixtures turn from GW10 as seen below, more points should be coming his way.

FPL GW10 Scout Picks – Forwards

9 Gameweeks has passed by, who would have imagined this? Watkins(70) has more FPL Points than Haaland(63) and is second only behind Salah(75) on the overall list. Thanks to the 8 goals and 5 assists from 9 games this season. His underlying numbers have also been good- 9 Big Chances, 28 Shots inside the box and 3.89 Non-penalty xG.

Watkins is also a great differential captaincy choice this week considering Luton’s poor defensive numbers particularly away from home. Away from home, Luton are ranked 20th for all these metrics- Shots inside the box conceded/90, Big Chances conceded/90, Non-penalty xGC/90. They concede 4.60 Big chances per game Away from home and it could be another feast for Watkins in GW10.

Haaland has not matched the Haaland standards of last season- Yet has 9 goals from 9 games this season. He does not take the captaincy due to the tougher fixture and other players like Salah/Saka/Watkins having much better fixtures. He is still a good option and should be tick along continuously- evident with a brace in the midweek UCL win over Young Boys.
