FPL GW34 Scout Picks

FPL GW34 Scout Picks- Goalkeeper

FPL GW34 Scout Picks Goalkeeper- Steele

Steele takes the gloves in our Scout Selection with a Double Gameweek vs Wolves(H), Manchester United(H). At just 3.9 million, he is great value pick that enables the other options. Steele has been good and has won his spot now. He is ranked 3rd best among keepers for FPL points ever since he became first choice.

Goal Keepers FPL Points per start since Steele became first choice(GW27):

  • Martinez- 5.78
  • Johnstone- 5.75
  • Steele- 5.43
  • Sa- 5.25
  • Neto- 4.33

On top of this, Steele is Top among Keepers for Bonus Points system(BPS) score per start since GW27. He could be in for Bonus points as well. One of their GW34 opponent, Wolves are ranked 17th in the league for Open Play xG over the last 6 matches which also works in Steele’s favour.

FPL GW34 Scout Picks- Defenders

FPL GW34 Scout Picks Defenders

Liverpool defensive duo of Alexander Arnold and Robertson come in as the Top Defense picks for Double Gameweek 34. They are up against Tottenham and Fulham at home. Liverpool have not kept a clean sheet for 7 straight games in the league, but as if we know TAA and Robertson are not in your FPL team for defensive returns. They are capable of attacking returns anytime and cleansheet points are just a bonus. Liverpool are a better defensive side at home as well. From 15 home games, Liverpool have 7 Clean Sheets and have conceded only 13 goals- Both third best in the league. So there could be a clean sheet too.

Over the last 4 games, TAA and Robertson have combined together for 7 assists, 36 FPL points even without a clean sheet. Their underlying numbers are really good as they are Top 2 for Expected Assists(xA) and Big Chances created among Defenders over the last 4 Gameweeks. They are also on Free Kicks, Corners which makes them good for attacking points as well as bonus points.

Stones comes in as the City defender with a Double Gameweek against Fulham(A), West Ham(H). City have been unlucky in recent weeks not to get a clean sheet conceding a late goal after securing the win. But their underlying defense numbers are still strong- Least Big Chances conceded(4), Least xGC(4.22) over the last 6 games.

One of City’s opponents in DGW34 Fulham are ranked 20th for Big Chances(13) and Expected Goals(11.54) since GW21. The other game is against West Ham at Home. West Ham are poor away from home scoring only 12 goals from 15 away games which is the 3rd lowest among all teams from away this season. So there could be a minimum of 1 clean sheet for City from 2 games in GW34.

Shaw is final pick among defenders in our FPL GW34 Scout picks team. He returned to full fitness in GW33 after missing the previous few Gameweeks due to an injury. Dalot should be the most explosive pick if you are chasing ranks as Shaw could slot in at Centre back due to the center back crisis.

FPL GW34 Scout Picks- Midfielders

FPL GW34 Scout Picks Midfielders

Mo Salah should be one of the Top transfer targets for FPL managers ahead of GW34. He should has a favourable home Double vs Tottenham and Fulham followed by Brentford(H), Leicester(A), Villa(H), Southampton(A) which makes him a “no brainer” till the end of the season. Since GW23, Salah has 8 goals, 3 assists, 87 points from 13 games– Second Highest for FPL points during this period. He accumulated an xGI of 9.8 which is the 2nd highest during this time.

Key Stat:

Salah’s DGW34 opponents- Tottenham and Fulham have conceded 18 and 15 Big chances over the last 6 matches which ranks them 17th and 15th in the league for the same during the same period. Tottenham have conceded 16 goals from the last 6 games- Only Leeds(19) have conceded more goals during the same period. There could be a feast for Salah in Gameweek 34.

Marcus Rashford returned to full fitness and started GW33 after missing GW31 due to an injury. But he did look in the same form with goal, assist and 12 points vs Spurs in GW33. Since the World Cup break, Rashford is averaging a return every game with 12 goals, 4 assists from 16 games. This makes him the Highest scoring FPL player with 124 points since GW17 even better than Haaland(118).

Matchup alert:

Brighton have conceded 31 chances from the center over the last 6 games which is the 2nd highest among all the teams in the league. Rashford may play as LW/ST but even if he starts as LW, he is likely to drift into central spaces as he is the main goal threat for Manchester United.

De Bruyne has been in splendid form with returns of 19, 8, 9, and 13 points from the last 4 games courtesy of 3 goals, and 5 assists. He is the Top in the league for Big Chances Created(6), Assists(5) and FPL Points(49) averaging more than 12 points a game.

Budget Brighton Mids March and Mitoma complete the midfield. Coming in at a just 5.3 and 5.6 million, they are they are quality picks with 3 Double Gameweeks in the next four Gameweeks- Brighton are the only team with 3 Double Gameweeks from now till the end of the season. If you have one Brighton mid, this is the right time to bring in your second Brighton midfielder.

Matchup alert- Mitoma:

Over the last 6 matches, Manchester United have conceded 30 chances from their right flank which is the 2nd highest among all teams in the league. This should work well in Mitoma’s favour who has been slightly unlucky not to return in the last 3 games with an xGI of 1.4 , 2 big chances and 6 shots inside the box.

33 goals, 8 assists from 29 league games. Haaaland is making a mockery of the most competitive league in the world. No brainer Captaincy choice with a Double Gameweek in GW34. If you still have your Triple Captaincy Chip, Going with Haaland this week looks to be the best move.
