FPL GW25 Odds Preview: Goals, Clean Sheets & Predicted Points

With the FPL GW25 Deadline fast approaching, we look to the Bookmakers and Prediction Models to give us an idea of which teams and players are expected to haul. A lot can be drawn from these probability and prediction models if we are able to break them down. In this article, we will perform the analysis on a team level as well as a player level by taking a deeper look at the FPL GW25 Odds.

FPL GW25 Odds Preview

Teams with Haul Potential in FPL GW25

Manchester City

Leading by a far margin this week, Man City top the odds table this week and are given a 50% chance of scoring more than 2 goals against Bournemouth. Though their recent sloppy performance against Nottingham Forest may not have been their best game, the bookies fully expect them to recover from the set back of dropping points and get back to winning ways with a good performance against Bournemouth.

Arsenal & Liverpool

Unsurprisingly, the 2 teams with the best doubles this week are also high up the table and are expected to score loads of goals this week, especially when you consider they have 2 games to do so. Arsenal are firm favourites for both their games and bookies have given them a 31% chance and a 40% to score more than 2 goals against Leicester and Everton respectively. As for Liverpool, they have started to find some form recently, which has come at the perfect time since many of us will be loading up on their assets for the double. With a 29% chance to score more than 2 goals against Palace, and a 38% chance to do the same against Wolves, we can expect returns for the likes of Salah, Darwin and Gakpo. The return of Jota and Firmino does bring about some rotation risks so we will have to be careful when picking which Liverpool assets to go for.

Teams Predicted to Keep Clean Sheets in FPL GW25

Man City & West Ham

Of all the teams with a single gameweek in GW25, City and West Ham have the best clean sheet odds. City have been given a 52% chance of keeping a clean sheet against Bournemouth which is not surprising given that Bournemouth have only scored 3 goals in 8 games since the restart. As for West Ham, bookies have given them a 48% chance of cleaning up against Forest who have been good defensively but have not been scoring a lot of goals at the other end.

Arsenal & Liverpool

Once again, Arsenal and Liverpool are among the top few teams for GW25, this time for the clean sheet odds. Arsenal have been given a 38% chance and a 56% chance to clean up against Leicester and Everton respectively. Though their defence has not been water tight the past few games, their win against Villa, coupled with City dropping points against Forest, provides the perfect recipe for them to get back to winning ways and the bookies favour clean sheets for Arsenal in GW25. As for Liverpool, a 40% chance to keep a clean sheet against Palace, as well as a 44% chance to do the same against Wolves, means that the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold comes into the picture, and we would fully expect his predicted points to be very high (covered in the next section).

FPL GW25 Predicted Points

The predicted points metric is dominated by Liverpool and Arsenal assets which is within expectations given that both teams have favourable doubles in GW25.

Liverpool Assets

Salah, Trent and Gakpo are the top 3 Liverpool assets by predicted points. Salah has an incredible 12.5 predicted points which puts him at the top of the list. A straight swap from De Bruyne to Salah seems like the most obvious move to make, but for those without this option, selling Kane to fund Salah is a viable alternative to get to the Egyptian King. Trent is also in with a shout at 11.4 predicted points and with his attacking threat coupled with Liverpool’s clean sheet odds, it is no surprise to see him predicted to do well. As for Gakpo, though he has a decent score on this metric at 10.0 predicted points, he is also the most risky asset out of the three given that Jota and Firmino have returned from injury which could eat into his minutes.

For those wondering, Darwin Nunez who is fit and scored a goal against Real Madrid is at 8.8 Predicted points for GW25.

Arsenal Assets

Saka, Odegaard and Martinelli are the top 3 Arsenal assets with 12.2, 11.9 and 10.4 predicted points respectively. Most of us would already be on triple Arsenal at this point, so rather than switching our Arsenal assets around, focusing on bringing in Liverpool assets would be the wiser play. That said, Saka is a great captaincy shout for GW25 and if you are bringing Saka in to captain him, you could just about justify making a luxury transfer from Martinelli to Saka.
